While the implication that OTC treatments will treat RA is a major error, this is a funny video that gives basic info on RA. It could be more in-depth but I laughed and used it to explain a bit about RA to my 9 yr old son.
Cute video, not enough information. To indicate that RA can be managed with an OTC is misleading and harmful. Harmful because it leads to misinformation, which leads to inadequate funding for a cure. RA is devastating, it shortens lives and seriously impacts the quality of life for those who have it. I have been diagnosed for over 6 years. The medications which are used to treat RA carry a great risk and have awful side effects. While I give you kudos for cute, you need more information.
Patboy sorry about my comment i have to apologize as my comment was made for another video and i was very upset at there shitty description of RA I hope you and foxforce accept my apology .
also UNINFORMED people are called LAZY ASSES....we have FAR too many streams of information in our world to hide behind the skirt tails of being ILL INFORMED....thats crap...pick up a freakin book...what are you suggesting that we handle this with straight faces...serious attitudes...and zero compassion?...thats awful....DONT EVER BE A DOCTOR TURNER ...SO no humor...and you keep on telling us THIS IS NOT RA....well then GRACE us with your knowledge
SOooooo TURNER.....lets hear your expert description....do you HAVE RA...cuz I do....have you researched this for years and know every single bit there is to know possible..??.....no?.....i have.....am i gonna tell you to blow it out your tight ass
???.....YES thats a big fat yes ....you have no idea what emotionol suffering is like....its people like you that make this disease awful to have...people like TURNER
Simmer down thete turner 593....I am a 7 year 36 year old SEVERE RA survivor....and I THINK THIS IS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!....im tired of being lumped in with 85 year olds...im tired of age discrimination because i have this disease too young...this guy just made my freakin year....this disease takes alot...every day it takes from you, your family, your life...what the HELL is wrong with injecting some humor into it?...tell me that?..and this IS A PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF WHAT RA IS...BLOW ME TURNER
I cant help but agree with you FoxForce... Turner...Ease up and simmer down. I think most people realize there are not white blood cells in your body sporting machine guns. Laughter is the best medicine. Thanks Foxforce
@foxforce12001 I'm with ya on this one. Diagnosed 5 years ago, and I'm scheduled for a hip replacement in less than a week. This video made me LOL! Just what I needed to see!
@foxforce12001 hey just wanting to say sorry bout this but this comment i made was for another video of someone who was putting out bad info on RA ...
@foxforce12001 Wow. I have read a couple of your very passionate message an I cannot say as I blame you at al b/c the strength your words match the passion which storms in firm non-nonsense from my tongue. I also cannot stand others minimizing my chronic pain life, not knowing what they are talking about. Chronic pain is AGELESS & yet the same folks claiming "years" of practice as if that meant anything. ANY ONE can be afflicted by a trigger to cause Chronic affliction. Mine was SUDDEN.
you are so gooood!i really want to have a lectures like you..can you make a video about spinal stenosis?i really don't understand how to recognize the pathology in MRI image...(i already ask my doc..but im still blurry)
nice video. and congrats. I go to Indiana University and our professor in our Disease and the Human Body class used this film in his lecture. it was great. =)
Well Pat I would give you a C. As a long time sufferer of RA there are a few facts you've left out. Alleve and other over the counter medications aren't the primary medications used to treat this illness. I might take those occasionally ON TOP of anything that I take but trust me, that's not the medication that has helped me stay together. You also portray this as being an old person's disease. There are actually MORE sufferers under the age of 60 than over.
He did say all ages and races...I'm 24... got diagnosed when I was 21... but my RA likes to go in remission.. but if my life is stressed out...oooooooooooooh boy... But great show dude! I loved it!
While the basics of the disease are correct; you have alot left to learn about the medications. The OTC medications you presented in your video are not the normal or "gold standard" medications used for RA. You need to learn about DMARDS, prosorba column, steroids, stem cell transplant and pain killers. That would make your video more complete. You are passing off a serious, chronic disease as managable with OTC medications and that is irresponsible.
Haha This was great. You pretty much just made my day, I was laughing my ass off. It's especially funny since I already know about the disease (I have it) so I got to focus more on the funny parts.
