@anotherblonde You sound like an ignorant interior designer. Stick to watching HGTV and you and the rest of moronic designers can build your own stall then lock yourselfs in it.
@anotherblonde Why were you even watching this video? You obviously do not ride or have been around many barns! Alf has 8ft. of shavings in his stall as well as warming lights above
Strapping is really old school, but some people still do it. It's not painful - you just let your arm fall you never actually hit them in this process. It makes the horses tense and release their own muscles
It is time the design of horse stabling was looked at! Square boxes, steel bars and little natural light is more akin to prison and very un feng shui! And to see this poor horse locked down in shavings and not turned out to graze is heart breaking - put yourself in their position, would you like it?
@anotherblonde They are turned out - this horse is currently in its stable.
Obviously you're too stupid to think about the aspect that this horse may need box rest for injury, may be going to a competition tomorrow, may be in whilst a fence is being repaired, it could be ridden within the next couple of hours
I havn't used this method for grooming but now I am going to definetly start! My pony loves being patted and brushed firmly, so I can imagine he won't have a problem with banging. This is an exellent video.
To anyone saying banging is cruel and hurting the horse...you are clearly wrong. If anyone has seen the way Alf reacts to applause in the arena you will know that he is a nervous horse...if he was at all affected by this banging then he would show that he was scared.
He is perfectly relaxed, happy and extremely well cared for!!
Yeah I say ... people are really beating the shit out of their horses ... now that is not weird ??? Bristish have their heads so far up their asses that they end up beleiving in their own crap
my horse LOVES being banged/slapped/ patted hard. I mean come on, have you EVER seen horses out together? They're so rough on each other, even when they're being affectionate, mostly because of their size and nature.
I think it's the famous british stiff upper lip niriton. Banging has long been used to help the horses build muscle & improve circulation. Most horses enjoy it & it's similar to human massage techniques. No, it's not what horses do in the wild but then neither is it "natural" for horses to be stabled & ridden!
lol if i did the banging at my paddock everyone would look at me like WTF. i'de love to try it but my horse would have to get used to me slapping him first haha.
& banging isnt abusive...it's just that not a lot of people do it anymore either because they don't think it's necesary or cuz their horse may spook easily.
i dont do that with my horse...only bcuz i he may spook.

Cruelty? Are you kidding me!! Does the horse look upset by it? No. That horse gets worked everyday, banging just helps.

This is cruel - when do you see horses "hitting" each other in the wild? - YOU DONT! yet another bad example of the humans domestication!!
LoveJojoxx 3 years ago
oh its not cruel, shut up.

Are you kidding? Because the horse looks soo abuseddd. You must not know what an abused animal looks like.
