Think I remember this storm. Shame the rest of the Summer produced so very little in the way of storms. Quite a disappointing year stormwise actually. Nice capture though.
Hi, great video and commentary. I too shot a lightning bolt and slowed it down on my edit suite. Take a look on my channel on here and let me know what you think...
The intense phases of this return stroke are as our friend suggested, and belong to the fact that lightning has a 3 dimensional structure and these apparent 'beads' are visible dependent upon the perspective of the observer. They are often mistaken for the phoenomenon of 'ball' lightning. Hope this helps, thanks for the video ;-)

nice vid...the brighter spots on the lightning channel are prob where the channel doubles up on itself as it arcs to the ground amplifying the light....just an educated guess really...keep posting when u get some more storms :)
You may be right. I guess people may think they are always looking sideways at a lightning strike but in reality some of it is moving away or towards the viewer; hence possibly explaining the brighter spots. Yeah, I hope I have the chance to film more weather phenomena like this.
your voice is annoying me.
