The story of Peter's crucifixion is a legend...period. There is no contemporary secular documentation of it. It is also IRRELEVANT to faith in Christ.

It's called research - crosses were recycled. A combo of ropes, ladders & brute force were used to secure the crosspiece to the fixed upright.
