How bleak and barren the countryside looks....so dry and dusty and empty.  Even the towns are empty and deserted and devoid of pedestrians/ It makes England look like Paradise on Earth.

It's fairly safe. As with most cities, it depends on which neighborhood you live it. And I've never seen the cops shoot at anyone--that guy who said that either lives in a verrrrry different neighborhood from the ones I've lived in, or he's joking.

@manhuntruler2 I grew up in Las Cruces, and I'm now in Albuquerque for school. I have very warm memories of my hometown; it's a wonderful place to live if you don't require constant external stimulation. There are bad parts of town, some gang violence, and stupid drivers, but overall I love my hometown.
