  • Oh lol I forgot, at day 5, I already started to eat a big mac meal & donut king... & boy it felt so good!!!! DRINK HEAPS OF WATER GUYS COZ IT HELPS A LOT TO HYDRATE YOUR THROAT AND SPEED UP THE RECOVERY.. Also, drink water whenever you 'll swallow your food so it goes fown easier and smoothly.

  • @OriginialSnooks Haha me 2!! Im 14 (girl :L) & I got my tonsils out on the 20th.. So I kinda suffered in Christmas as well coz I didnt get to eat that much stuff but ahhh well. & Guys, the pain isn't that bad for me... But I dunno about your experiences. My first few days were painful though. Currently, im on my 8th day & im feeling great. :D

  • I'm 17 and had mine out on friday. It's day 5 for me and I still haven't experienced what I would call extreme pain yet. My scabs started coming off yesterday and I had a little bleeding today. But the throat pain all and all isnt that bad. The worst part of it all actually is choking on my uvula in my sleep and waking up bc of it.

  • Im 14 and got mine out Thursday and im pissed cause Christmas is almost here and then my birthday on the 28th! :(

  • I'm 26 now, got them taken out when I was 15. That was one of the most painful things ever, I could barely even swallow my own spit. Getting my wisdom teeth out a couple years ago was a walk in the park in comparison.

  • I need mine out too, I can only imagine the pain though!!!!

  • im on my 7th day of having mine out, my throat looks soooo bad compared to yours :| now im scared lol

  • @d3athbecomesher mine is on 3rd now... it really felt bad, specially when eating...

  • @DanielnFrancheska yea i could only drink liquids for a week, only thing i "ate" was soup lol, drink lots of water though!

  • i am mine out also nine days ago n boy it hurts...cant eat only drink n it has to be warm like soup....spitting a lot more than my fluid intake...in the morning it is some mad pain..i was reading something n they were saying am fluid must be cold..

  • i had my out 5 days ago they have accidently sliced my tongue on my right side so it is impossible to eat or drink i cant swallow iv constantly been sick im extremely skinny as it is so im just going to lose more weight. the pain is unbearable all i do is cry i do not know what to do or what to eat cause it is impossssibleee!!! :'( i just wana take about 100 paracetamols so it goes :(

  • i just got mine out today any tips?

  • @hp92301inadelanto 1st day doesn't hurt that much due to the painkillers that the doctor injects while you're being intervened... Today is my 4th day and it HURTS like hell.. mostly in the morning, i went to my doctor and he sprayed some stuff into my mouth, the pain stopped until now :) i could eat and drink normally (having precautions) he told me that the scabs were going to crumble at day 6-7 (soon T_T) and its the phase were it hurts more.. its 12am here and im about to sleep..

  • @hp92301inadelanto Morning is painful then u get used :S, also!.. you'll drool a lot, i mean a LOT so try to put something under your head while you sleep or you'll have to change sheets like crazy so anyways.. good night/morning to everyone and lets hope we all get done with this thing :).

  • I'm eighteen and had mine out just yesterday. I'm finding that at the moment the pain really isn't bad at all until I need to swallow (feels kind of like a really really bad case of tonsillitis). Just taking it one day at a time and preparing for the pain to get much worse around days 5-7 when the scabs start to fall off. Everyone, just hang in there for day 10-11, apparently it's the best wake-up surprise ever, with very little pain.

  • Man i had mine removed and they had to go further in to get everything..i had a horrable time recovering..i lost 35lbs..and couldnt eat or drink for almost a month

  • I am amazed to know that you guys feel pain right after or a few days after the surgery. With all honesty, mine almost did not hurt, especially the right portion. My only complain was the mouth sores I had after the surgery because of the instruments used to open my mouth. So I find it really strange that it is that painful.

  • @mcp102727 By the way, I ate crispy fried chicken 5 days after the surgery with no pain or difficulty swallowing.

  • your recovery is so fast mine now is on 3rd day... and am suffering a lot from eating...

  • @DanielnFrancheska I hope you get well soon! Just take your pain medication as instructed by your doctor. :P

  • I'm a 17 year old girl and I got them out 8 days ago, during Thanksgiving break, and Jesus, it hurts ridiculously. I thought I'd be able to go to school today, ha! I woke up this morning and got up and dressed but after I ate HALF a scrambled egg, I felt like crying. The pain in my throat is immense. I haven't eaten anything sharp in the last week but I feel as if something is poking and scraping against my wounds. I want this to be over!

  • ur mouth must be crappy u got braces and infectikns u crack head!

  • i woke up crying today not when i got em out lol

  • i got mine out a week ago and i woke up crying my mom had to come home lol. (because today is day seven and i'm PISSED because of the pain. but the medicine they gave me helps. i have no idea why u guys had pain on the first day right after for me that was the easiest day of all lol. the first day i had no pain it was all numb :D

  • GOT MINES DONE TODAY AT 1030, I KEPT SWALLOWING

  • It looks lik u have sour cream dip stuck in the bak of ur throat

  • DX i haate my tonsils for having to enlarge but i was born with a really tine nasle and wind pipe so i had to get them out when i woke up i said " my throat tastes like the smell of paint" lol! and like ghostknowledge i had to go to my grandma's house a few days after and they had chicken pie ( my favourite ) and i couldnt even eat it DX and then the next day they had curry!!! but i aint aloud spicy :CCC i had to have noodles 3:< (sighs) but im glad i wont have anymore breathing problems

  • Tonsillectomy....I knew it was going to be painful. I had no idea it was going to be the worst two weeks of my life!

  • Eeeeewwwwwwwwwwww

  • I've had my 4 wisdom teeth taken out at once and those hurt a bit on day 4. thank god my tonsils are going strong, i freak out every time i get a sore throat.

  • I got mine out today, my ent cut off most of my uvula (punching bag in back of your throat) he says mine was already abnormally large and i would choke on it from it swelling up regulary

  • I'm having mine removed in 12 days and holy hell, I am terrified. Don't know why I keep watching youtube videos about it either :/

  • @MolinMUSE same. im scared shitless.

  • @MolinMUSE Take my advice, eat only jello, and ask for more pain medicine, it hurts like heck.

  • thank u soooo much for that.

  • i got mine out when i was 22 and i can honestly say that it was easier than having all the tonsiillits infections i got, i have never looked back best thing i ever got done am 36 now. My son is starting to get alot of it as well, will have to look into getting them out he is only 4. i wonder is it hereditary?

  • @pippy3550 i don't think it's hereditary...that's just tonsil's for you. they're only beneficial to you until your are 2 yrs of age...after that, they just become a nuisance. It's one of the reasons why tonsillectomys became so common place in the 50's-60's. EVERYONE had it done.

  • had mine out yesterday (OUCHERS) and the only annoying part is the dangly bit at back is big and i have a numb tongue!! am used to sore throats anyhow so pain is normal lol

  • ewww it looks like puss gallore!!! ive been thinking about asking my dr if i can get mine out but i might change my mind....

  • Is there side effects after removal?

  • Why would god and jesus created things like this, why on humans?? Im so miserable right now.

Dear God, Someday, can you customize someone while someone's is giving birth and make the 11 year old kid lucky and sooooo not having them, thank you. <3 YOU. Sincerely, Molly Kenney

  • @destiniefg the purpose for them is to fight bacteria

  • @quejic get better !!!! : (

  • eso le paso por ponerse a chupar tanta verga la lechesita se le cuagulo en la garganta pilas con eso >:(

  • I was around 13-14 when i had mine out. God waking up was so painful.

I had Ice Cream a few hours after i woke up. This was not a good idea. 5 minutes later it was in the toilet.... Not a nice thing to have.

Makes it fun at the doctors however. I went because i was poorly and she was like "Well your tonsils aren't up so it can't be serious" to which i immediatly replied "Well, thats because i don't have any."... Her face was a picture!

  • I'm 17 and got mine out yesterday morning. Couldn't sleep at all last night because I was snoring, and therefore kept myself awake. x_x

  • just had mine out 8 days ago pain isnt to bad any more and yes worst part is in the mornings for a while all i could eat was jelly but i dont recomond you do that this is what help me out the most having 2 frozen water bottles and letting one melt and drinking that eating ice cubes/ice chips to help bring down the swelling and an icpack on the back of my next dont just eat jelly lol get iceypoles there good to and noodles help just let them cool down first inbox me if you need any help :)

  • i got my tonsils and adenoids out 11 days ago and there is still a sting in my throat whenever i swallow. also when i drink the water sometimes feels as if it is going up my nose..weird right!

  • @GacktTheBest I had mine take out 6 days ago my doc said don't have any dairy or chewing gum for 14 days as it causes mucus, Ice cold water through a straw is amazing, But just dose up on painkillers and the day seems so much better. I find the morning is the worse as soon as you wake up cause you mouth is dry, But mine seems to be going alright considering they were bigger than golf balls. However my main prob is that my adenoids were taken out to.

  • im on day 4 and i cant seem to eat much, ive realised that milk products seem to leave alot of mucus that i cant get rid of, im hoping for this pain to die down soon im starving haha

  • i just got mine out today i was not fun. i'm pissed off cos we were supposed to have sloppy joes tonight

  • @ghostknowledge why did you remvoe them

  • @EndOfKevin829 because i had a really bad case of tonsillitis and there would be times where i would miss school because my throat would hurt so bad i wouldn't eat for days my tonsils were almost touching eachother

  • you should really take better care of your teeth...

  • Hey people I have a serious question. I've been had tonsillitis since Christmas, and i just got over VIRAL PHARYNGITIS. I just want to know is pharyngitis is a symptom of tonsillitis?

  • I haf my tonsils and adenoids (sp?) out about three years ago now because I kept getting tonsil stones. My throat hurt for a month and a half. I did have a very deep infection in my tonsils at the time of the surgery though. I went through my two bottles of pain medicine in a week and a half then went through two more bottles of Tylenol. I couldn't eat anything that required me to chew for about three weeks because it caused so much pain in my ears! I woke up every two hours and got up at six A

  • iam soft as shit, i will wake up crying my eyes out, am dreading it now

  • got mine out 7 hours ago and i'm choking on my uvula -.-

    its like 10 times bigger

  • @SuperElectricPower I hated the feeling of choking on my uvula. Mine got better quickly though.

  • @woodythrower how many days?

  • im 17 and i'm on day 7, its been not so bad, i thought today has been one of the worst in all honesty but i seem to eat most things with little difficulty

  • @osamakiller my doctor told me that the pain is usually worst around a week after surgery. He was right in my case, and it sounds like that's true for you too. I guess that's normal.

  • @woodythrower yeah i guess so, its now day 13 and alot better and i think the surgery was worth it.

  • @woodythrower Does the doctor explained you why the pain is worst a week after surgery? I am on day 6, and i must agree with you.

  • @osamakiller Im 16 anddd mee toooo alll of then xD

  • I'm on day 8 today, and mine looks about the same.

  • ese akeroso no se sepilla bien

  • Damn I think I will keep mine now. Thanks.

  • I am on day 4 and all ive eaten is yogurt. I drink alot of water and stuff tissue in my mouth (it helps). I have lost six pound since the surgery. What can I do to reduce the pain.

  • @Qapmoc15 I would advise against putting tissue in your mouth as it will leave residue and could get infected (trust me as someone who is on day 7 and has spent the last 7 days throwing up because of an infection you do not want it to happen!) have you heard of "difflam rinse" it is AMAZING! I'd advise you to get some - its a green rinse that you gargle with and it almost completely numbs it! Though I'd rather the pain than throwing up 10 times a day (no exaggeration!!)

  • i found that moderate warm tomato soup that wasnt heavy in spices is best. it helped me out.

  • the most painful moment after the surgery is when u just wake up from sleep......beat me to tears....

  • @TheSsdip I agree with that. Waking up was extremely painful.

  • @woodythrower when i had mine removed almost 3 yrs ago, waking up after the surgery wasn't that painful, it was the staying awake part that seemed difficult and plus the nurses told me i had to talk so it would heal properly, dont ask me why, but ya talkin was especially painful

  • @woodythrower i also agree but since i just could call for morphine it wore off in a few min

  • @woodythrower I felt great the moment i woke up. Until a couple hours later when the morphine was done doing it's job.

  • @woodythrower Worster still, Was trying to eat an easy meal sometime afterwards. Waking up wasnt so bad for me.

  • @TheSsdip omg normally i look forward to sleeping but now i am on day five after surgery and i now dread going to sleep because the morning is the worst pain of life !!

  • @XxDaPinkTacoxX you need to drink cold water immediately and the throat pain relief....i think its painful because the area is too dry when wake up from sleep...

  • @TheSsdip Hey there thanks for the advice honestly it is the worst pain ever and its when it hurts the most. I know I do sleep with my mouth open at night so that explains everything. Thanks for the help! Wait one more question! I have my first follow up appointment tomorrow since my surgery and was wondering what they do to you? I hope to god they don't poke at it :) lol

  • @XxDaPinkTacoxX i think the guy in the video is showing the follow up session....that's how mine was done....really glad to help you.....:)

  • @TheSsdip lol thanks

  • @TheSsdip Totally agree... thats awful whe you wake up... right now is my 7 day after the surgery, and it has been the worst by far... i can eat slowly solids, but when i drink water, my ears start to hurt a lot :S ...

  • does that thing in the middle of the throat go back to its's original size

  • I had my tonsils taken out when I was 7, people need to stop crying about it, it hurts for like a week and only hurts if you drink citris products like orange juice or apple juice, it doesn't hurt that bad.

  • @WarcraftAzraman a tonsillectomy in adults in the most painful operation you can have - anyone below the age of like 12 it actually isn't a very painful procedure as your healing time as a child is much quicker. And anyway before you are so quick to tell people to "stop crying about it" perhaps you should consider the fact people have different pain thresholds.

  • i had my tonsils taken out june 1st. so im kind of healing a little now. my scabs are still on i believe. the hardest thing i have been able to eat is meatloaf. but heck, ive lost 15 pounds so its chill (:

  • ugh im getting my tonsils removed in 2 weeks. I r scurred yall.

  • @SpyOpz94 dont be scared i just had mine out on june 7th. you will do ok. it fosent hurt all that bad.

  • ugh im on day 5 of this nastyness

  • I'm actually on day 8 of recovery now. How long did you wait until eating solid foods again? I am dying for a slice of pizza, yet I still have no appetite.

  • how bad is the pain? im getting mine out in a week and im terrified!! do they put a tube down ur nose or throat? Also is there throwing up involved? i hate throwing up more than anything...

  • A few years back my left tonsil swollen and it block my throat. It subsides with the help of antibiotic and mouth gargle. Since then, my tonsil rarely swollen. But these past few weeks,my tonsils keep getting swollen, And I notice that I have tonsil stones too. I was thinking to have Tonsillectomy. But when I read all the comments online about the after surgery effects, I am freaking scared to do it. :(

  • @MizzMiera90 what kind of after surgery effects? D; !

  • @moolatinaa what I meant was the post-surgery effects like it hurts when eating even after the surgery, can't talk for few days, must drink cold juices to minimize the pain and etc.

  • @MizzMiera90 recovery from surgery happens once and only lasts a few weeks. Recurring tonsil infections and tonsil stones aren't as intense, but they'll just keep happening, which makes them worse in my opinion.

  • I have 8 days after my tonsillectomy and found myself in the mirror I see I have pus there where my tonsils removed. After surgery there is pus or have not??????? I need go to my doctor???????? helpe me.

  • @MrMeono hi i have been through the full recovery now and i also had a look in the mirror at the back of my throat and i had white stuff at the back of my throat too, this is just a scab or like a scab this is normal as it is covering the wound, there is nothing to worry about it is normal x

  • @nnifer5 I have is a kind of thick liquid, yellowish and very unpleasant. I have phlegm enough too, you think this is normal? and I have the white stuff at the back of my throat too. Thank you so much for your help. I'll wait for your answer.

  • Omg getting mine out soon,

I'm scared because I know it's gonna hurt so fking bad ;l

    wish me luck! ;-)

  • i had my tonsils taken out when i was 9 now im 12 i couuld talk and stuff i could even eat maceroni

  • I had my tonsils removed 3 days ago, and I'm in quite a bit of pain :(.

I can't find anything that it easy to eat and I find drinking water is still hard but juice makes my throat or sore. I have been told milkshakes are good to drink is this true?

I was told by my doctor that if you can't eat or talk then you should chew gum as this will stop the mouth muscles getting locked together, and it produces a lot of saliva which is meant to b good for healing, I just thought you may want to know this

  • @nnifer5 I have 8 days after my tonsillectomy and found myself in the mirror I see I have pus there where my tonsils removed. After surgery there is pus or have not??????? I need go to my doctor???????? helpe me.

  • @nnifer5 my doctor told me not to drink milk or chew gum for 14 days :O i got mine out 8 days ago

  • That shit is nasty!

  • same): but my uvula was fine i think

  • how old were you when you had them removed? and up to how many weeks were you sore? coz i;m thinking of removing mine but i'm 33, the dr. said they are more painful for adults.

  • Hi, I'm 1; and had my tonsils removed last Tuesday, the 27th of march, my uvuela, that punching bag type thing, became so inflamed and swollen that I would choke/gag on it if I lay on my back, after 3 or 4 days it became alot better, and It is now 6 days after. It still hurts to swallow, and I find milkshakes are a good treat, did you find any mirical foods that helped? Hope you get better

  • Idk what that dangling thing in your mouth is... I used to call it the little tongue. Well I had my surgery yesterday and I only drank and ate diary products bc I had no idea I wasn't supposed to eat them and the little tongue swelled up and eating is even harder with that thing blocking everything I drink and eat :( what should i do? Even drinking water is unbearably painful

  • @NazaninEshan The "little tongue" is called a uvula. Mine swelled up pretty badly after surgery too. I'm not sure what you should do about it. Contact your doctor if you're concerned.

  • @NazaninEshan I know you probably dont have it big now, but the uvula i suppose to swell up, and all you can do is eat ice creams, and will eventually get smaller... I got my surgery 2 days ago, and I can open my mouth because my jaws jurt, but my uvula is big, I can feel it, but it was bigger.. so, its all about eating cold stuff.

What you should do is freeze water, and as it melts, drink it

  • @NazaninEshan also its used to keep food and water from going up into your nose ;D

  • everyone heals differently. I just had my tonsils removed march 24th, the pain for me was horrible, i couldn't take my pain meds cuz they made me sick was not able to eat.. it is day 6 and the pain is little but still can't eat can talk just some, the taste from your throat is awful, be sure to drink as much as you can, use ice packs against your throat it helps, I have been hating this process but I hear its worth it once healed... so good luck to everyone who has to do this!!!

  • i had mine out at 27 worst pain ever ended up in icu after a few days at home .woke up with bed soaked in blood and choking on blood not good !

  • plenty water and chewin gum keep drinkin eating it helps clear d htroat AVOID ICECREAM IT MAKES WORSE

  • ewww loogie lol

  • I see a tonsil stone in the back haha

  • @Brianeedslessons Not a tonsil stone. Just dead tissue. :)

  • i had mine out 2 years ago when i was 24 no problems at all

  • im a 34 year old female from australia I am having my tonsills out in a couple of weeks I have had chronic tonsillitis for 2 years and have lost 6 kilos down to 48 kilos i am really nervous about the procedure and i have been told it is going to hurt like hell so pretty nervous is it as bad as i have been told any comments would be appreciated.

  • I have to get mine out in the next few weeks. I'm so scared because I have tonsils the size of golf balls. Its going to suck so much. :(

  • I had mine done when i was 6 im now nearly 13 Mine healed mine and i wa soff for 2 weeks

  • I had mine taken out yesterday. Im 32. The pain is excruciating now i m going back to bed lol

  • healed nicely

  • Comment removed

  • @THENOXG

I'm going to trust the doctors, not someone who can't spell "tonsil"

  • @Treemeadow sure,is a free country. (if you are living on usa)

  • I got mine out last year when i was 19. I coped really well suprisingly. And recovered really quickly. The pain was pretty bad first few of days but it was bearable . Just eat regularly.

  • Comment removed

  • Holyy shit !!! I'm 18 and I'm afraid of having these for life lol they recently started to come out but in little peaces and my GF says ewwww lol is it bad if you get them at a young age or is it temporary ? Immm sooo fucking scared now ! Any thoughts ?

  • here's a tip.. if you've had surgery like this ... maybe don't put your bacterial finger in your mouth to feel the wound.

  • @CCDevlin I know, right? What an idiot!!

  • im 15, and i had mine out on 10th Monday 2011!! And mine now still hurts. The pain isnt as bad as before but it does still hurt. Food nastes different, and its actually put me off eatting but the hospital said i have to. It hurts more in the mornings than anything else.

  • I got my tonsils out a nine days ago. The scabs are coming off but theres a bit of blood. Is that normal? X:

  • @ShinigamiAki

yeah, so long as it's not too much bleeding. if you getting a lot of blood, like it's not stopping, then you should see a doc asap to get it stopped. but i'm not a medic, that's just what i was told, so.....

  • @ShinigamiAki So how painful was it? How old are you? I'm having mine done next week...I'm 46. I've been reading so many horror stories about how painful it is after surgery. Is it true?

  • i got mine removed 7 days ago and its sooo hard to eat anything. i have jus been having water and just rcently some tea. plese tell me that there is hope that i will be done with the pain soon.

  • Yeah I remember how bad it sucks you can't eat for like a month without it hurting like crazy

  • Eww!! I Like JUST got my tonsils out...11 days ago...and i feel like crap!! :(

  • @LotsOfLuvXx Apparently if you eat textured foods, you can avoid having your throat look like this.

  • Ewww it looks like ur mouth is roting

  • @bunny21st3 Yeah, it does. Not a very pleasant sight.

  • im 41 and had mine out 3 days ago.well its not whayt i was expecting, the pain is probably worse today than it was the first couple of days but the meds help and i have been drinking lots and lots and lots of fluids, second day i had some chicken soup and bread mushed up in it plus yogurts popsicles etc and well for all you older people out there having this op,dont worry its not as bad as people say ,well its not for me at least ,the smell and taste from your mouth is the worst bit for me

  • @themajor38 For what it's worth, the first five or so days were relatively pain-free for me. It got a bit worse after that, for a few days.

  • @woodythrower Do you still get tonsil stones?

  • @charbel2477 Since having my tonsils removed, I do not get tonsil stones at all. There is nowhere left for them to form.

  • @themajor38 i take this back because one day later and my throat is really hurting me today and the meds are not even sniffing it,i hope this doesnt last too long ,im also getting bad earache too

  • @themajor38 Hi There...I'm 46 and scheduled to have my tonsils removed next week. Man I've been reading so many horror stories about how painful it is, but after reading your comment I'm somewhat relieved. Question...was a breathing tube inserted in our throat during surgery?

  • @serette7 im not at all sure if i did or didnt sorry ,but you got nothing to worry about.im not going to bullsxxt it is painful but if you keep up with your daily medication and fluids you will get better in no time, day ten and i was eating pretty much anything i wanted too.no problems at all now :) 5to 7 days of being uncomfortable and then you will soon be back to normal minus your tonsils ;)

  • @themajor38

I am 44 years old and everyone warned me about having my tonsils off - it was the worst pain i ever had but if i was told in advance it would last 10 days instead of 5-7 days i would have been prepared for the excruciating pain of course it ebbedded off eventually. All i could have is popsicle and jello nothing else after 8 days i was able to have some light clear broth and marshmallow. lizzie but i am happy with the end results no swollen tonsils anymore yippee

  • @themajor38 didn't your doctor tell you not to consume any dairy products during the first ten days of recovery? they leave a hard to swallow film in the mouth, possibly enhancing pain and nasty odors. perhaps the yoghurts weren't such a good idea..

  • @whtvr23 no he didnt,and im fine now :)

  • @SuperChristianTV I was always able to swallow during recovery. My throat did return to its normal pink color.

  • how bad does this hurt? someone please tell me. I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out and i was in hell, will this be any worse?

  • @godlikecharacta For me, the tonsillectomy was much worse than having my wisdom teeth out, but I had my wisdom teeth out when I was about 21 and had no complications (such as dry socket). I had my tonsils out when I was in my thirties. I hear that it isn't as bad when you're younger.

  • mmmmmmm yummy.

  • I just went to a Dr. and he has suggested me to have my tonsils removed! I'm worried that I'll lost my voice & taste afterwards!

  • @scwlim I haven't noticed any long-term issues with my voice or taste.

  • Comment removed

  • Just had mine taken out. Have had plenty of other surgeries- including a tumor removed- none were even close to as painful as this. However, my pain seemed to last only the first 4 days. After that it felt like a normal sore throat. Drink water- honestly- just try to down it as fast as you can. It's day 5 for me and I don't even need the pain meds anymore. Down water- take vitamins- take your antibiotics- brush your teeth- don't speak. You'll be just fine.

  • @Rfish117 My doctor told me to speak as much as possible O.o but then again the quack damaged the musle so he probably wanted me to stretch it back out while I still had meds xD Really though, talking didn't bother my thoat after the surgery.

  • @Rfish117 Excellent advice. :)

  • is this normal?

  • @MagnetOfSluts As far as I know, there was nothing unusual about my tonsillectomy or recovery.

  • is it normal?

  • i get mine taken out in 18 days and im scared shit :-( lol and 21 years old

  • I got mine done 2 days ago and I'm 28 yrs old I'm not going to lie it hurts bad. Best to try to be prepared you will be in pain

  • @jasonrust1 thanks for the warning lol

  • @jasonrust1 why did you have your tontils out? was it due to tonsil stones?

  • @steve171274 I had my tonsils removed because of tonsil stones and frequent sore throats. I am completely satisfied with the result.

  • @woodythrower Were your tonsil stones very big or just small bits? I have had the feeling that i have a small ball at the back of my throat and sorethroats for years, i have to go for a barium swallow tomorrow. Every doctor i have everseen has missed the tonsil stone connection and my current doctor didn't know what they were until i asked him to google them and even then he said he had never heard of 'em.

  • @steve171274 My tonsil stones were mostly small bits, but I would occasionally have larger ones. I also had difficulty getting doctors to pay attention to the issue, but they would frequently prescribe antibiotics for throat and ear infections. Since having my tonsils removed, I almost never have those issues.

  • @woodythrower Had the barium swallow today at hospital, no problem found. My Doctor is sending me for every test going. One last question i have since this condition started have had problems vocalising high pitch sound such as squeaks or singing as if the various muscles in the mouths and throat are being prevented in making the sound.

  • @steve171274 It's been a couple years since my tonsillectomy. I can easily imagine the pressure of tonsil stones making it difficult to make high pitched vocal sounds... but I don't remember that specifically. The frequent sore throats certainly had an impact on my voice.

  • @jasonrust1 There's pain, but it passes... I am extremely happy with the long-term results. I have far fewer sore throats now, and no tonsil stones!

  • @XxJuiceMusicxX How did it go?

  • @woodythrower lol i couldn't get it done.

I went in, did pre testing, and right when they were in the middle of doing my IV they ran into the room and told my husband and myself that i was pregnant. Lol so..... I couldn't have the surgery lol
