  • @madtamski

Hacking a console hardware and hacking firewalled Apache servers are two completely irrelevant things.

  • @madtamski

The PSN security is an entirely different beast that the hardware DRM. Nothing from the later will give access to the former. Take your hate elsewhere.

  • n00bs

sony is launching ps4 and closing ps3 forever

(i know a guy who knows a guy who works at sony)

  • @anderkiu nice one lol ;p

  • "And the Sony... uses the same random number all the time..."

    LMAO

  • Any chance of the 3.56 jailbreak to come soon?

I fucked up and I want emulators!

  • Fuckin' A. Now I can add my PS3 to the list of hacked consoles I own.

    Thanks, fail0verflow. ;D

  • thanks to them Sony is now fucked up, mw2 fcked up and now ps3 is a console for piracy....

They said they are "anti piracy" and does not "support" piracy but look at now they pretty added a multiplier effect on piracy.

They said they did it for intellectual challenge... why ps3? they prolly hate sony? prejudice against japanese? cos japan is leading not only in math but other categories?. if they want challenge go HACK FBI, CIA, MI6 you dumb fucks

  • PS3 Finally hacked... i didnt think it was possible, I was waiting since the release ... I tried hacking it myself but i didnt know it was this complicating lol.

I love how i understand the math and the c(++) programing in it

  • is that a girl, WOW

  • I think someone got fired at 7:08.

  • @WiriamuN hahahaaaaaaa

  • @WiriamuN lmfao true!!

  • Thanks for ruining online gaming for my ps3, you bunch of fucking nerd virgins.

  • 9:30 SIGN THINGS....

    SIGNIN' BOOBIES!

  • Good job nerds. On behalf of a few million PS3 users fuck you for ruining some of the best games ever.

  • 118 ppl can't afford games!!!!!

  • these guys need to get a real job and stop hacking........

    cause hacking = pirated games

  • Well done gentlemen! It is heartening to see this level of expertise out there in the public. Hopefully you've inspired more people's interest in math, programming, science, and engineering. Keep it up!

  • If they know piracy is a side issue they shouldn't have made it public. They've got what they wanted, keep it for yourselves instead of indirectly supporting piracy. No, this is just pure egotistical grasp to hacker fame.

It is quite impressive however that Sony could've been this stupid on the basic stuff.

  • BASIC ALGEBRA FOR THE WIN!!!

  • They have the damn private key, they are just afraid to be assassinated if they showed that on public, or get sued

  • @abulmagd3 well they got sued, so that aint it.

  • @abulmagd3 I thought they said the keys were machine-specific. I might be wrong though.

  • /watch?v=Nt4TEUnNgfM

  • i have no clue what is going on would some kind hearted individual explain to me exactly what the hell is going on seems like big news but i have no clue how computers or anything workss i watched all three videos and now my head hurts

  • @Simplyphenomenal07

Yeah. There's a free way of hacking. Just wait for the Scene to start using those dumped keys and making iso loaders, homebrew and stuff. The discover was last week, so in one month the internet will be full of those.

@23house23 GTFO. This hack WAS NEVER MEANT to pirate games. fail0verflow doesn't like piracy. Yeah, call me a pirate, but I don't like to be a pirate. I used to buy games before. Before they got extremely high placed I can't afford. You are just a dumb.

  • I love the guys saying that piracy will now kill PS3

PIRACY NEVER KILLED ANY SYSTEM THAT WASN'T DESTINED TO DIE

Prime example is PS2 and PC

  • @TheEXterminatorus AMEN! it helps boost sales tbh, just doesnt help the developers as much.

  • I DONT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK THIS MEANS BUT PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN START DOWNLOADING AND PLAYING MY PS3 GAMES FOR FREE

  • iv seen all 3 vids. not understood EVERYTHING but some parts. basically sony is in a tight corner. But 1 thing i dont get is, HOW IS IT WORKING? There was no demo. No demo of them using the xmb and showing us how it works. heck the usb idea makes more sense. How does it get what its supposed to, e.g piracy? im not a pirate copy kinda guy, but i have no idea what the purpose was of this demo. can someone explain how this works? would i be able to get hold of the "hack"?

  • @Simplyphenomenal07

To calculate encryption codes wich prevents piracy, an equation is run in internal, wich involves a random number m. This allows to prevent the equation to be solved and hackers signing content (try to solve an equation that changes every time) . Sony fails by using the same random m every time. Sure, m is random, but not every time the equation is run. This allows the Encryption key to be calculated, and running any content you want, without hacking the security system.

  • @SSVAV thnx for the quick response, ok, grasping on what you said, how can the average ps3 gamer, like me, use this? is it something u transfer on a normal usb which gets copied on the ps3? because i do hope its an easy, free to use thing. and since it doesnt hack the security system, doesnt tht mean tht i or anyone could play online aswell?

  • @Simplyphenomenal07

Now, with this hac,k you will see plenty of homebrews and apps (piracy WILL come out, it's unstoppable) that are plug and play. Copy your app (or game) to the PS3 and that's it. It will run. Now, to play online, you will need an ISO loader. If Sony detects you have one installed in your console, it's a direct hoi with banhammer. That is, if Sony can come up with a solution to check installed ISO soft in your console. If they come with one, you will have to play offline.

  • @SSVAV wow! what types of games will they be? iv seen videos of hackers using ps3 games as backups. doesnt tht mean the download of 20+ gb files on a usb? what i would do for myself is, not have the iso loader, but keep my psn, so id be playing offline with those games/apps, but still playing online with my regular games. Now just waiting for the hack!

  • @Simplyphenomenal07

Yes, you need to download those 20GB+ files. But, well, the Wii, NDS and 360 hacks are the same.

  • @SSVAV GameFly FTW

  • @SSVAV nice, i guess il have to find a storage capacity of 20+GB, i am getting an external harddrive, maybe tht will do. il have to carefully select my games lol are there any sites where i can get these apps and games from? and when exactly is this hack out. im done with Q's lol

  • @SSVAV tho i havent jailbreaked my ps3. i dont want to buy a $150 usb just yet, i aint so sure. is this a free way of hacking?

  • Epic use of a xkcd strip!

  • Well, and I do not believe that it is so an epic failure, when it has cost them 4 years. It is more, probably to sony do not worry them so much and be a part of some plan to sell more consoles. PS and PS2 could be pirated from the beginning almost, and they have been leading in his time thanks to these consoles. In fact, I believe that Sony will gain more money with this, and surely they have his plans already in the PS4

  • I dont have any console, the politics of the companies seems to me to be very improper. Now for the users of PS3 only can to wait that the online is of payment, which it will be, like xbox, and use a system like call of duty on pc, for example

  • ya espero mis juegos piratas :D

  • I am very high right now so that maybe the reason why I can barely here him ?? I need subtitles when HIGH !

  • WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN

  • I would like to know if the programmer responsible has been fired yet? Implications aside that person ignored decades of standard crypto implementation practice.

  • PS3 has no random numbers

  • why the hell is it so important to run linux on every system?

  • @Blackcat008 really people are just going to pirate games linux is really a cover

  • @Blackcat008 because until you do, you're not the owner, only a guest.

  • @Blackcat008 To add more functionality. And specifically for the PS3, to add back a feature that people bought PS3s for.

  • @Blackcat008 cause it let you access all the system resources, for me ps3 has a supercomputer cpu, i want to cluster it with my linux box and run the most intensive cpu apps.

  • "Public Private Keys" LOL

  • Hackers have fun with PS3 games(when you just download and use the code) without online, trophies, psn. That's that what I love in my legal PS3.

  • @SpeedekPL

Mr. Speedek, if you cold please pay more attention in class? These hackers provide a method to run Unix code, not pirated games. Wven though the vulnerabilities they've exposed can be further expand upon to support piracy, the original aim is different. But maybe you intended those harsh remarks for game pirates? Sorry, I'll have to disappoint you -- if the history of Console\PC is anything to go by, the ability to play ANY game for FREE is worth more to them than anything else.

  • @GeorgeNoiseless yea I understanded, but this code opened doors for using piracy games, too. It's okay when they wanted do something for linux but that sucks because of the games, there are more other people that use the code for games...

  • Freaks, just look the guy at 5:44, epic fail.

  • I want to the same stuff as have the fourth guy :D

  • Comment removed

  • lmao the same random number every time.

  • m is the same all the time? Wow, that IS epic fail.

  • You didn't watch the whole thing did you. It took them 12 months.

  • Four ftw

  • OOoOoOo sony como te vacilaaaaa has algooo ya y dejalos muriendo jajaja xD

  • Epic crypto fail :=)

  • Nice XKCD reference lol

  • Yeh, EPIC FAIL Sony. (allegedly) , it's only taken them 4 years to break this.....

    Cretins.

  • @MegaClashcityrocker what presentation were you watching?? It took them 12 months, once sony pulled support of running linux.

  • @MegaClashcityrocker Epic Retard fail. Watch the video FROM BEGINNING MORON. Epic FAIL. EPIC FAIL. want me to write it ones more? EPIC FAIL. moron.

  • they wont be working on allowing pirated games but the piracy apps will be made by other people

  • @shakirmoledina you mean script kiddies.. those damn pirates are good for nothing man. just karma running about. do things for evil and you fail. do things for good and you win! homebrew = good, piracy = evil

  • @saivert well its not that easy to call these people evil bcz some do it for the entertainment of others like some homebrew creators

while some homebrew devs create for showing off their talents

whats better? doing for others or showing off for yourself? i know this is a devious argument lol

  • que empiece la juerga!!!!

  • FOUR IS NOW MY MAGIC NUMBER.

  • Someone at Sony is about to get fired...

  • @XionXi the guy who removed OtherOS should get fired right now. :-D

  • XBMC XBMC XBMC XBMC

  • @scottylans xbmc will only run on x86 CPUs

  • @08:30: Python code! \o/

  • the PS3 seems may be the new wii :)

    guys you are fantastic hackers!

  • epic fail indeed ...

  • no wonder this took 4 years, jeez... this makes so little sense to me :(

  • SONYS ECDSA signature.. comprised using the very random: 4. what idiots. lmao.

  • Fuk the facebook movie!! There should be a PS3 movie in the making with these guys as the Hackers/Actors. Sony can just play themselves.

  • @medicineme

Ther's a facebook movie?!?! For fucks sake...

  • @medicineme Honestly, I wouldn't watch that movie. They may be good hackers, but they would need to get kernel mode on my brain to convince me that would be the slightest bit entertaining.

  • @medicineme and it should have guns, rpgs, blood and chuck norris
