  • I love how he finished him with the same EXmove that raped him in the last 10 seconds

  • wow good match I WAS SURPRISED CODY COULD FIGHT with the chains on. AND I never seen fei do that combo before. GOOD match and nice.

  • @aloneboyz999 I am surprised how Cody can change clothes handcuffed!

  • Nice Cody play. Can you only link S.HP > C.MP on counter hit?

  • @mushdog, no but its ease is character specific and its a 1 framer i believe.

  • Another perfect example of SSFIV's dumb layout. Amazing how some moves completely kill the fun. Just do the same all day long, and you win.

Not exactly the true definition of good play...

  • @E1N9A8N0DA

Yeah, I guess that's why there are so many cody's dominating the tourney scene. Oh wait.... Well at least that's why there are so many big name cody players out there...oh wait...

One of the only great cody players out there is sabr3 and he uses pressure, frame traps, and other things you actually have to know what you're doing to apply well... just try picking up cody and doing zonk "all day long", see hwo far you get... lol

  • @teeeight Never seen your sabr3 friend on World top class tournaments. And I haven't seen any Cody player playing like he does yet.

Sorry, but he may be good and stylish, but one man among 1 000 000 doesn't mean very much.

And I don't need to play Cody. My Dhalsim's enough for me. And far more interesting and technical than most of other characters. If not EVERY other characters.

Thanks for the answer anyway. :)

  • @E1N9A8N0DA I think you missed the point there, lol. My point was that zonk (or even ex zonk) "all day" will get you nowhere. It's not a move that you can spam->win like you said before..it doesn't do anything to kill the fun. I'm also never sure where you saw me saying there were a lot of good cody players- I was saying the opposite. Sabre is the only well known one in the U.S. and he doesn't do well by using that, but using other techniques- that was the point.

  • @teeeight I perfectly understood what you were talking about. YOU didn't. I was saying that most Codys on the network play that way, and that's what disappoints me. That, along with the fact that I does work sometimes, thanks to SSFIV that alows such cheap play. And I say that from my own replay watching.

Just like Rufus, and his Falcon Kick. Some people litterally SPAM with this attack, and if they win sometimes, they often get crushed by smarter opponents.

  • @E1N9A8N0DA 'Cheap' is a word that scrubs use to justify certain things they can't beat. And zonk all day works sometimes? Haha when an opponent doesn't know how to block? It's fairly punishable.

  • @SuperPiewhole 'Cheap' term leads to the same thing, for both losers and winners. Win at all costs...

A player that gets hit at each attempt doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't know how to block. That kind of remark highlights a lack of analysis if you allow me to speak frankly.

"Zonk" all day does work for example against a character that hasn't got the same attack priority, nor a good counter move like Honda's Head Ram or Zangief's Lariat.

Anyway, I said what I think. End of the story.

  • @E1N9A8N0DA Ok, so here you ARE stating that zonk all day works because other characters don't have good reversals. Is it that hard to hold back on wakeup? If people would stop pressing buttons/doing reversals, the zonk would be extremely punishable.

As of right now it doesn't matter what you think, FACT shows that zonk can be punished, meaning you can't do it over and over.

  • @SuperPiewhole

You're saying what I just said, in a different manner. Funny.

As of "Zonking" over and over, you have the proof right in this match. Again, a lack of analysis from you. What you think isn't the same as everyone.

To me, you're just trying to be "the one who's right", or having the last word... I played this game enough to be sure of my thoughts; I have my vision, you have yours, so since I'm not going to spend all the week with you, I'll just leave this sterile discussion here.

  • @E1N9A8N0DA Your 'proof' in this match is what we call a mind game, the Fei clearly thought that Cody was going to grab; Fei's fault for not reading his opponent correctly. I do agree that some moves can be spammed easily with little consequence, Zonk isn't one of them though.

I don't care who's right or wrong, the only difference is that I'm showing you facts, while you're basing statements on opinion. And sure, I can kind of see this going no where, so let's end it.

  • I was gonna respond but looks like you took care of that :) there IS right &wrong here, and he is clearly wrong. Even though he tried to backpedal& morph it into what he "meant" to say, he flat out says: "Amazing how some moves completely kill the fun. Just do the same all day long, and you win."

Wrong. If you don't know how to read your opponent, and implement other tactics, just spamming zonk wont get you anywhere. If you think that's what's going on in this video you don't know shit.

  • @teeeight and he's right- the fact that you're saying "cheap tactics" work lets us know where you're coming form right there. Saying shit like that just shows that all you did was come up against a tactic you couldn't adapt to, and instead of learning to deal with it, you cry "cheap". It's even more sad if the person is doing it "all day" and you still can't figure it out, haha.

  • Cody> Turn the beat back!

  • LMAO I LOVE IT

  • i hate you Cody
