  • My dad used to make fun of this, he'd see the surfer and go "Run cue ball, run!"

  • There was not a single episode of this cartoon I did not watch while stoned out of my mind! Really kickass animations for it's time and the storyline was just deeeeeeeep!

  • jajaja i didn`t know that this dude has it`s own cartoon show , it should have sucked .

  • With all his powers, you'd think Galactus would be out there scouting himself... He doesn't even need to physically move goddammit, he could just bend the universe or something.

  • Silver Surfer is like the weakest person in the world, according to NES game :D

  • Silver Surfers Face = o_o

  • What music it is?

  • i miss fox kids

  • @MrXykko You and 100000000000000000000000000000000000 many original kids agree.

  • I hope the Silversurfer movie becomes reality.

  • GREAT animation!!! Too bad the cartoon itself was horribly boring...

  • @PeppRmintBUDy Too each their own. Maybe it doesn't have enough complex shapeshifting robots and explosions left and right for ya. I kid. You're not the only one who thinks that it seems. You just have to be patient with the show. It's not something you can just sit and be entertained by. Your brain has to be fully on to appreciate its complexity which is unfortunately too much for some peeps. Don't blame ya. It's kinda pretentious. Still, he has a strong fanbase for a reason. Me included.

  • @TheLionKiller101 Complexity is one thing, a waste of a good character is quite another. X-MEN, BATMAN & SPIDER-MAN were perfect blends of likeable characters, deep complex storylines, & action adventure & they did it in an interesting way. Kids & adults could enjoy these shows. Writers had perfect templates to start w/ & they still screwed it up. Sad part is, SILVER SURFER was a bore both in comparison to the shows i listed above AND on its own, but ur right...to each his own.

  • @PeppRmintBUDy If you think 90s Spider-Man and X-Men were deep and complex, then you have no idea what good writing is.

  • @Goatmon Most if not all the stories were adapted from existing hit stories from the comics. These shows crafted something that both payed homage to the original stories and made them fresh and new. If you dont understand that then you dont know what good creative writing is.

  • @PeppRmintBUDy No shit they were based on hit stories. Why would they pick dud stories instead of the top notch stuff?

And that doesn't really matter when talking about adaptations. You can spout all you want about how amazing the source material is, it doesn't mean that adaptations based upon great work is going to be good by default. While the 90s Spider-Man and X-Men had some great moments, they also tended to be ridiculous, and X-Men's "plots" were largely incoherent gibberish.

  • @Goatmon I guess our opinions of great material (as well as incoherent and gibberish) differ completely. Fox didnt air all of the X-Men episodes in correct order which made some storylines seem out of the blue. You can also say all you want, but the shows' records pretty much speak for themselves as did this horrible Silver Surfer show. X-Men and Spider-Man are STILL considered two of the greatest shows even now.

Nothing you can do to change that.

  • what was the ship at 0:13 because i cant recall the name?

  • @SuperDarthVader1 That ship belongs to Thanos, not sure of the name of the ship, if it even has one, but it belongs to Thanos.

  • I loved the look...it was heavily influenced by Jack Kirby. The CGI wasn't too bad...but damn it, the show was just kind of slow, boring and depressing.

  • don't touch the ceiling... you'll die...

  • @Merrick001 umm he saved his world amd woman from annilation so selfish? No boring. No Meeting everyone and looking through the depth of space. Yes that is boring

  • Sorry that this charcter have been forgotten...

  • @KyrenS64Gotham

    Uh..He hasn't really been forgotten..at all..

He's had quite a few miniseries in the past few years and he has a huge role in "The annihilators" cosmic team that's still an ongoing series

  • @XKing2 I'm aware about thisbut, the character doesn't have anymore the importance he had in those times.

  • @XKing2

Yeah exactly, and I heard they might REBOOT him. So, that'll be even better. If their gonna Reboot the whole DC universe....Why cant MArvel just REBOOT some of their classic Heroes. X-Men civil War thats starting in a week or two...(epic)....How about you start of Marvel by giving us...ULTIMATE SILVER SURFER. lol

  • @Amayamodeltown because giving you a good silver surfer movie would be just like giving you an actual fantastic four trilogy with the main villain involved.

  • My all time favourite cartoon. Still is...

    Miss you Silver Surfer! :'(

  • MiDSinister I Felt the same way about this cartoon! As a child( i was 6 or 7 years old, when this cartoon was on) after watching any episode of silver surfer i was literally depressed! and also the fact that the action was placed in the endless universe was again...depressing. A few days ago I was saying to me friend the exact same things that you had noticed:)

  • foxkids, i remember that!

  • Wykurwista bajka, chyba jedna z najlepszych jakie znam. Nie tempa, niesie jakieś przesłanie czegoś uczy nie to co teraźniejsze bezmózgowe sieczki

  • It's a shame this never got completed. The second season was even supposed to have the Fantastic Four.

  • The thing about The Surfer (and most of Jack Kirby's cosmic characters) are that they are too high concept for the world of Saturday Morning TV. Kids just wanted a clear cut battle between good and evil but Norrin Radd's conflicts are mostly philosophical and based on the presevation of life . Put it simply, This show was way ahead of it's time and aimed at the wrong audience.

  • @DaELFGokulio I don't think you can say. Not to mention the cartoon has pretty clear cut morals despite what happends. The surfer is a very eloquent, introspective hero but most heroes are like that to a degree(not his degree). Anyway I don't think it was the kids that hated it. Who knows why it didn't work. It wasn't because kids don't mind watching something that they don't completely comprehend.

  • Its a shame this cartoon never made it past the first season. It had real potential, and based on what I've seen it might have been to deep and depressing.

  • What language is that? Latin?

  • I didn't even know they came out with a silver surfer cartoon! This is cool!

  • he swaggin he surfin he swaggin watch him swagg and surf

  • one of the best animated shows ever

  • hahaha i remember that

  • Silver surfer was so boring...

Like come on, selfish much? ur girlfriend is gone, and u caused deaths of like a 100 billion people. Asswipe.

  • 0:07 lol jupiter

  • I actually have a site online where you can find the Silver Surfer (and other superhero cartoons):

    superhero-cartoon-network.blogspot

  • They should have done much better than they did with this series. I was highly disappointed with it.

  • Marvel couldn't do a second season because they were going through bankruptcy problems at the time.

  • Yeah, the episodes were all over the place. The overarching story had no development. They can do that for a couple episodes but even a first season needs to get moving at some point. Still better than the Avengers villain of the week crap and 5 year old drawings.

  • I remember watching this in Channel 6 in FOX KIDS back in the 90s and it was a pretty deep series kind of boring for my age at that time but good animation.

    Greetings from Tijuana Mexíco.

  • @pisteador1985 Yes it was my friend, yes it was.

Greetings from Tijuana Mexico too XD

  • As a kid, I just wasn't feeling this show (throw the Hulk cartoon in there too).

  • i never got into it either one i always hated the silver surfer as a super hero and two the show seemed boring to me.

  • I guess they wanted to keep a comic book feel to it, just because they can do something doesn't mean they should.

  • Only Galactus, planetary bodies, and giant spaceships were CGI. Characters were still cel-shaded.

  • For a kid's cartoon, this was pretty depressing. I remember watching this when I was in like 4th or 5th grade, thinking..

    Jeez..

Hes just wandering through space, looking for his girlfriend. In addition to that he has the guilt of billions of innocent lives lost because of him. Haha. Poor Surfer.

I does indeed suck how it was canceled. Drafts for the next series episodes were written though, just never saw the light of day.

  • The joke is that he can never really return to his home because then his story would end and he'd stop being Silver Surfer - the writers would never allow this.

  • Exactly. It's like Superman achieving world peace. That happens then really writers couldn't really write stories since things are magnificent, and there is no plageful blight for him to battle, or solve.

  • I felt the same way for this guy lol. It's the reason why I never got into the cartoon.

  • @MiDSinister but but..... he doesent have a penis! or does he!?

  • I love this cartoon. I hated that it just sorta canceled it.

  • yeahh When I was a kid, I hated it soch bad .

A few years later I loved it

  • omg...u silly kids... plz don't embarrass urself with stupid comments like this

  • the silver surfer did not had many episodes i wander if galactus turnt him human again and returned to his home planet

  • no. that series was too deep for kids. it was cancelled prematurely, and it was supposed to tie into the Fantastic Four cartoon, but the MAU was shut down shortly after.

  • no it never happend.

  • I don't remember very well this series but the big boss at 0:17 used to frighten me :'(

  • I love how he comes out of galactus's hand at the beggining.

  • The surfer is no doubt one of the best comicbook heroes ever made

  • Yea, but he had one AWFUL nintendo game.

  • lmao i guess you watched the avgn review.

  • haha, i sure did see the avgn review.

  • @rellik4life

you´re totally right.. the story and the way he becames the surfer is the best one of all. :D

  • @milooman I totally love love the first episode just because of that ending. He turns around after being turned into the silver surfer and offers up his homeworld to galactus. that was some epic storytelling.

  • @rellik4life Nuh uh, it's totally Dr.Strange.

  • @rellik4life Wasn't he a villain in the second Fantastic Four movie?

  • @Link57942 no.

  • @rellik4life Second best. Dennis the Menace and Gnasher are the best!

    Joke :)

  • Man, I never even saw this! When was there a Silver Surfer show?

  • It used to be on foxkids ever Saturday morning at 6:00

  • and it was awesome, although the surfer sometimes complained too much IMO

  • This show wasn't bad. If you're unfamiliar with the early Silver Surfer stories and co-creator Jack Kirby's (who passed 4 yrs prior to this show airing) art style, you probably wouldn't like this show. Oh, well, at least I can still pull out the back issues.

  • You can get this at Imissmytvshow*com now

  • according to offical sources, they are in talks of a solo silver surfer flik with galatcius

  • yes there is. confirmed for a sometime 2010-2012 release.

  • this show was very underrated

  • i love the silver surfer...the cartoon version here

    was excellent...

  • Cool. I wish Galactus had appeared in the FF2 movie...

  • He does, I think.

  • Nope. Just a cloud.

  • you can see an outline of classic galactus's head in the clouds if u look properly at one of the scenes.

  • That's fine, but hardly what i'd call an "appearance"...

  • yeah i guess

  • as a ball of dust
