Funny in Michigan welfare recipients are given debit cards to buy groceries and other necessities bu it was found a good majority of them were using them at the casinos ATM to withdraw money to gamble. Let's start testing for drugs, alcohol, and tobacco along with MANDATORY birth control. The taxpayers are subjected to drug testing, why not welfare? It is the taxpayers funding welfare.

I agree with the drug test. Anyone who doesn't has never driven through the projects in my town. I think this will save millions of tax dollars and the folks on welfare get paid back if they pass so its not costing them anything in the long run. I get drug tested at work and I don't have a problem with it. In fact, I like knowing the people I work with have to pass drug tests. Hopefully this law will spread and I'll be able to feel good about welfare funds going to folks who really need it.

I'm for welfare, but I'm for tighter measures for it. I totally support this bill. 69 million dollars of California welfare money was spent on cruise ships. Really?! If you're going to get financial help from the government, you shouldn't be going on vacation or supporting a drug habit. this money is a gift, a helping hand until you get back on your feet.
