The Benchmark scores for Vantage Don't seem right, On my GTX 275 OC i scored 15,123K so how is the GTX 280 scoring 11K? That doesn't add up to me, anyone else with a GTX 200 Series GPU see this as well?

In Countries like Argentina is by far cheaper to buy the best nvidia card than the worst ati. The price of a 295gtx is like the half of a hd 4870 crossfire.

GTA 295 is better for the most on everything but i agree GTX 295 cost more but they havent balanced the ATI graphic card so it really can get a way to hot and damage it self big time. so if u want to have ATI u need a lot of good and expansive cooling and breeze so u can say the ATI even cost more money then the GTX 295.

These benchmarks don't seem very legit to me, every other bench I have seen GTX 295 destroys the 4870x2 in almost every test and in these benchmarks they are way to close, I think this guy may be an ATI fanboy!
I also prefer ATI over nVidia because ATI cards tends to consume less power and cost less compared to their closest competitor and plus, when it comes to AA and AF ATI seems to do much better.
Look at him onto the tests the ati will be a stronger video card with the expense of all newer drivers.
It nvidia though as I looked at the test little graphics wastes it the 4870x2 that it back up brings for. ( for example crysis warhead 2560x1600 ) did not start the gtx295 vainly lei the ground it nvidia.
But these cards onto the future for obsolete ones can be said the then. This particularly concerns the current nvidia gts and gtx2xx onto a series.

These are so pointless. I can vary my rigs with either card in and tweak the settings to give a specific result either way. So easy to steer these tests. Massively game engine dependant.

ATi is way better!!! The GTX 295 does beat the 4870 x2 in some benchmarks but by like a few fps, and the 4870 x2 rules when running games in ultra high settings. Over all, the 4870 x2 is way more balanced out then the gtx 295, I mean, who the hell is going to waste $300 - $500 and not want to run there games at high settings. That's just stupid!!

they are both excellent cards. people who are running these cards in crossfire or SLi are tripping out. you seriously only need one of these cards to play every game ever made at an extremely high quality except maybe crysis. i have the 4870x2 and a friend of mine just got a 295. we both agree the differences are hard to pick when actually playing games. which after all is what there designed for. only difference is the x2 is cheaper.
actually, if you play a game that actually uses scaling like SLI and Crossfire, crossfire is better, but because the gtx 295 is more powerful in the first place it wins. Also, the 295 is 140 more than the ati, so it damn site better be better.

Sorry, but it's not too impressive. You can try updating the drivers on ATI's website to see if you can get a little more frames per second. If Call of Duty is all you're playing then you should be fine.

the 4870x2 is the fastest card out there..for it is the only card that makes crysis playable at the highest possible aa settings....4870x2 beats the gtx 295 at 8xaa and 1600p..hands down...the gtx 295 only gets higher 3dmark vantage scores bcuz it is disguised as a gpu and a physics processor in 1....and it exels at lower settings becuz of the ati powerplay feature...this is used when the card doesn't think it's being pushed so it down clock itself....
currently im just playing crysis with my gtx295 at 16xq (which is specially made for nvidia, sorry poor atidiots..) and it is smooth as hell and also all of the other settings are set as very high. so what is the fuss about?
GOD! The GTX295 was released purely to compete with 4870x2! Doesnt matter that it came out later, it just had taken longer for nvidia to release the card.
had 4870x2, had many problems, got very hot. now have gtx295, and its way better.you cant benchmark these cards with a crap cpu, these cards are mainly designed for core i7, because there are big bottle necks, so if you test these cards with core i7, at around 3.2ghz+ , with decent ram, the gtx295 is the better card. i had both cards, ans crysis performs way better with gtx295...i luv it, and will keep it for some time. i run it with Q9450 @ 3.4ghz. but really need core i7

ATI may be cheaper and NVIDIA bit more money, although NVIDIA has better drivers. ATI has specific drivers for specific versions, like 4800 only.

Un' altra cosa... il fatto che io abbia un ATI Radeon HD4870X2 (e ne sono molto contento perchè è un ottima scheda)... non mi da comunque il diritto di mettere dei benchmarks falsi, non avrebbe senso!
Il mio scopo era semplicemente di mettere a confronto l'ati hd4870x2 con altre schede, tutto qui!

These benchmarks don't seem very legit to me, every other bench I have seen GTX 295 destroys the 4870x2 in almost every test and in these benchmarks they are way to close, I think this guy may be an ATI fanboy!

I also prefer ATI over nVidia because ATI cards tends to consume less power and cost less compared to their closest competitor and plus, when it comes to AA and AF ATI seems to do much better.

Look at him onto the tests the ati will be a stronger video card with the expense of all newer drivers.
It nvidia though as I looked at the test little graphics wastes it the 4870x2 that it back up brings for. ( for example crysis warhead 2560x1600 ) did not start the gtx295 vainly lei the ground it nvidia.
But these cards onto the future for obsolete ones can be said the then. This particularly concerns the current nvidia gts and gtx2xx onto a series.

My friend bought a new pc: C2D @ 2.66GHZ, ATI HD 4650 512MB and 2GB of RAM
I can run Spring on 1280x800 on very high settings at an average of 70 FPS and he can only run this game on 1024x768 on very low at 30FPS.
He got the lastest drivers but well ATI sucks...

The ati is more lasting. The dx10.1. Will be the 5870 stronger one than the gtx285. Then in cf? And that coming in sept. end or october, and cheaper. 299 dollar the 5850 and +60% faster than the 4850

These are so pointless. I can vary my rigs with either card in and tweak the settings to give a specific result either way. So easy to steer these tests. Massively game engine dependant.

ATi is way better!!! The GTX 295 does beat the 4870 x2 in some benchmarks but by like a few fps, and the 4870 x2 rules when running games in ultra high settings. Over all, the 4870 x2 is way more balanced out then the gtx 295, I mean, who the hell is going to waste $300 - $500 and not want to run there games at high settings. That's just stupid!!

Yeah I agree that the GTX295 Wins in all relevant to gameplay in the realworld But only in SLI the nachine I have with the i7 920 and Crossfire on qxvga and xvga at higest resolution comes close to the speed of sli but is not at all noticeable to the eye the benchmark picks it up but as for real world all benchmark softs are biased. as for the nuitbag in here that said that nvidia is still in the stone age well do you think so.

ATi love high resolution and AA better than nVidia cards so if you are running 1920x1200 or higher.... ATi is your best bet :)

they are both excellent cards. people who are running these cards in crossfire or SLi are tripping out. you seriously only need one of these cards to play every game ever made at an extremely high quality except maybe crysis. i have the 4870x2 and a friend of mine just got a 295. we both agree the differences are hard to pick when actually playing games. which after all is what there designed for. only difference is the x2 is cheaper.

actually, if you play a game that actually uses scaling like SLI and Crossfire, crossfire is better, but because the gtx 295 is more powerful in the first place it wins. Also, the 295 is 140 more than the ati, so it damn site better be better.

Sorry, but it's not too impressive. You can try updating the drivers on ATI's website to see if you can get a little more frames per second. If Call of Duty is all you're playing then you should be fine.

yes 50 fps is pretty good. I f you want to play at higher resolutions and run the game as smooth as possible you may need to consider a new GPU mate.

the 4870x2 is the fastest card out there..for it is the only card that makes crysis playable at the highest possible aa settings....4870x2 beats the gtx 295 at 8xaa and 1600p..hands down...the gtx 295 only gets higher 3dmark vantage scores bcuz it is disguised as a gpu and a physics processor in 1....and it exels at lower settings becuz of the ati powerplay feature...this is used when the card doesn't think it's being pushed so it down clock itself....

had 4870x2, had many problems, got very hot. now have gtx295, and its way better.you cant benchmark these cards with a crap cpu, these cards are mainly designed for core i7, because there are big bottle necks, so if you test these cards with core i7, at around 3.2ghz+ , with decent ram, the gtx295 is the better card. i had both cards, ans crysis performs way better with gtx295...i luv it, and will keep it for some time. i run it with Q9450 @ 3.4ghz. but really need core i7
