The gun in the Crime Museum is a 4" barrel Smith & Wesson .38 from a batch supplied from the USA to the South African army in 1941. It had to come from a military source. This also helps evidence that Cussons, a "spook" supplied her with the gun. You need to read Muriel Jacubait's (Ruths sister) and Monica Weller's book "Ruth Ellis My Sister's Secret Life" ISBN 1-84529-119-0

True. But Ruth was probably put up to giving false evidence on the basis of national security. She was a "patsy persuaded to sacrfice herself to this cause on false grounds. There were irregularities in her custody. She was given alcohol (and what else one wonders) and Cussons got access to her. Havers and Humphries both had guilty consciences as they showed later in their unprecedented actions. Today Ruth would have got a justifiable homicide verdict. Read the book.

The current Curator of the Crime Museum and I, when I conducted tours, always made a point od stating our belief in Ruth's innocence. I've handled the gun produced in court, met her sister and a historian of the case and been to the Magdela public house. Most "facts" out there are nothing more than speculation. There is even a query over whether the gun produced in court was the one Ruth had. Ex-Crime Museum staff.
As Blakely searched for the keys to his car,[10] Ellis took a .38 calibre Smith & Wesson Victory model revolver from her handbag and fired five shots at Blakely. The first shot missed and he started to run, pursued by Ellis round the car, where she fired a second, which caused him to collapse onto the pavement. She then stood over him and fired three more bullets into him. One bullet was fired less than half an inch from Blakely's back and left powder burns on his skin.--Wikipedia
In fact Blakely was almost certainly shot by Desmond Cussons, waiting downhill from the Magdela. There are many factual inaccuracies and queries over the investigation, irregularities in Ruth's custody and even controversy over her post mortem report. What's on the net is mostly wrong then! There was a police cover-up in this case. Cussons and two "witnesses" he drove to the scene made off in a black cab owned by Cussons. In court it was stated he never owned a car, yet the cab was registered in his name. Ruth discharged a firearm, what she did not do was kill Blakely with it. Wikipedia is not wholly reliable. Justice Havers paid for her son's private education and Christmas Humphries for a new flat for him! Why?

I am suprised Ruth's sister ever made such a statement. I met her at length in 2005, as she published her co-authored book and had since 1983 found a lot more evidence concerning the case. I've handled the gun and documents appertaining to the case. There is contradictory witness evidence which I don't think got into court due to a wilfully incompetent and lax police investigation, probably at the behest of the security services. @noonsight2010 Actually, I don't think Ellis's sister made that statement, that was simply background for a UK Guardian story. Why is this case so important to you? Are you related to these people or something? From what I've seen, it looks to me pretty much like an abused woman that killed her abuser. I certainly don't doubt it's possible the police either deliberately or otherwise made "mistakes". Happens here in the US every day.
I grew up aware of this case. It has never gone away. I worked in the Crime Museum where I've handled any number of murder weapons, human remains and evidence from the 19th century to the Great Train Robbery, Rillington Place, the acid bath murders, IRA bombings, the "brides in the bath" murders, Iranian Embassy siege etc. It was clear always there was a miscarriage of justice with Ruth. It is now clear she probably did not kill Blakely. Justice & truth are my motives.

(We have enough crimes here to keep track of, Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc.). I can't see however why you think this Ruth Ellis case is a miscarriage of justice, every version I've seen says the cop took the smoking gun out of her hand. That's about as guilty as you can get. I did 3 years in prison myself, for a crime involving a TEC-9 millimeter.

The gun in the Crime Museum is a 4" barrel Smith & Wesson .38 from a batch supplied from the USA to the South African army in 1941. It had to come from a military source. This also helps evidence that Cussons, a "spook" supplied her with the gun. You need to read Muriel Jacubait's (Ruths sister) and Monica Weller's book "Ruth Ellis My Sister's Secret Life" ISBN 1-84529-119-0

True. But Ruth was probably put up to giving false evidence on the basis of national security. She was a "patsy persuaded to sacrfice herself to this cause on false grounds. There were irregularities in her custody. She was given alcohol (and what else one wonders) and Cussons got access to her. Havers and Humphries both had guilty consciences as they showed later in their unprecedented actions. Today Ruth would have got a justifiable homicide verdict. Read the book.

The current Curator of the Crime Museum and I, when I conducted tours, always made a point od stating our belief in Ruth's innocence. I've handled the gun produced in court, met her sister and a historian of the case and been to the Magdela public house. Most "facts" out there are nothing more than speculation. There is even a query over whether the gun produced in court was the one Ruth had. Ex-Crime Museum staff.

The first shot missed and he started to run, pursued by Ellis round the car, where she fired a second, which caused him to collapse onto the pavement. In fact Blakely was almost certainly shot by Desmond Cussons, waiting downhill from the Magdela. There are many factual inaccuracies and queries over the investigation, irregularities in Ruth's custody and even controversy over her post mortem report. Ruth was involved in a security services operation of some kind. Her execution was a travesty of justice. I've posted a lot of detail under one of "The Last Executioner" postings. What's on the net is mostly wrong then! There was a police cover-up in this case. Cussons and two "witnesses" he drove to the scene made off in a black cab owned by Cussons. In court it was stated he never owned a car, yet the cab was registered in his name. Ruth discharged a firearm, what she did not do was kill Blakely with it. Wikipedia is not wholly reliable. Justice Havers paid for her son's private education and Christmas Humphries for a new flat for him! Why?

@noonsight2010 I just read an interview with Ellis's sister from 1983 "She shot her lover, David Blakely, outside the Magdala pub in Hampstead on the night of Easter Sunday, 1955, felling him with one bullet and pumping four more into him before an off-duty policeman removed the revolver from her hand. She offered no resistance. " UK The Guardian There are no accounts of proof that anyone except Ellis killed Blakely, the cop took the gun out of her hand. That's about as guilty as you can get.

I am suprised Ruth's sister ever made such a statement. I met her at length in 2005, as she published her co-authored book and had since 1983 found a lot more evidence concerning the case. I've handled the gun and documents appertaining to the case. There is contradictory witness evidence which I don't think got into court due to a wilfully incompetent and lax police investigation, probably at the behest of the security services. @noonsight2010 Actually, I don't think Ellis's sister made that statement, that was simply background for a UK Guardian story. Why is this case so important to you? Are you related to these people or something? From what I've seen, it looks to me pretty much like an abused woman that killed her abuser. I certainly don't doubt it's possible the police either deliberately or otherwise made "mistakes". Happens here in the US every day.

I grew up aware of this case. It has never gone away. I worked in the Crime Museum where I've handled any number of murder weapons, human remains and evidence from the 19th century to the Great Train Robbery, Rillington Place, the acid bath murders, IRA bombings, the "brides in the bath" murders, Iranian Embassy siege etc. It was clear always there was a miscarriage of justice with Ruth. It is now clear she probably did not kill Blakely. Justice & truth are my motives.

@noonsight2010 Interesting, I'm from the US and am pretty much unaware of the minute details of most British crimes. (We have enough crimes here to keep track of, Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc.). I can't see however why you think this Ruth Ellis case is a miscarriage of justice, every version I've seen says the cop took the smoking gun out of her hand. That's about as guilty as you can get. I did 3 years in prison myself, for a crime involving a TEC-9 millimeter.

Records show test fires showed up a cracked cylinder shank on the gun Ruth had (almost certainly supplied by Cussons).
