I don' think Mao will be able to win gold in Sochi.
Mao is definetely NOT a gold standard. She is good skater But she doesn't have enough quality for gold medal. No speed, no artistry, no jumping quality.
Spins, spirals or step sequences are not all elements for gold medal.Face the reality.
Anyways, this was a beautiful program by Mao, and it's a shame that she was unable to make her Olympic debut that year. The age restriction seriously needs to go with certain junior skaters.
I really hope that Mao sticks around for a while(Sochi? =]), she is too special to have a short career like most ladies. She has the capacity in her for more World titles, more national titles, and hopefully she can finally grasp herself an Olympic title. She certainly deserves it.

It's very sad to see this video now. Four years ago nobody thought that mao, the shootingstar and Wunderkind, cann't qulaify for GP final in Oly-season. Here she is unisono with music, harmony pur, looks so happy and inspiring. Her dress, her moves like butterfly everything works for her. And NOW? I hate her outfit, I dislike both her programms. I haven't seen this for a long time, and now I am amazed how much she has improved in these 4 yrs. While cute and energetic here, she is still juniorish and unpolished. I'm glad she has grown into such a sophisticated skater now.

Mao Asada's tripple axel is not wright. The pre-rotation is very long.(Nomally 90angle, but 180angle. It is a trick. It's not fulfill the 3A rotation. Please watch it again in slow-motion.
Cottesse, you are not smart enough to post critique of Mao. Have a problem with your analysis of Mao's skating technique? Go and find a real expert to help you deal with your inexperience in the subject of Mao's technical skills. I feel that Mao's perfect in every way.
waddleduckie, it's not true that Mao is perfect, although she is a phenomenal skater. She has had numerous problems in the past few years with her underrotated triple axel and flutz (meant to be a lutz, but similar to her flip jump), and these errors have been acknowledged and deducted by ISU judges, whom I would consider as experts. I sincerely hope she will be able to fix these problems in the near future :)
rirvuoced, I think you are out of touch. Czisny has flutz more than the other skaters and have you not focused on Czisny's problem with consistency as comparable with Mao's Mao's consistency is even better than that of Czisny. Why do people always blame Mao? I don't know. Maybe because they hated her.
It's because she is that good that we give so much interest to Mao. It is only obvious that Mao is more consistent than Czisny because she is that much of a greater skater. :) There is no hate, waddleduckie, and I believe that your stating that "Mao is perfect in every way" is also a prejudice. Mao and Yuna Kim are currently being acknowledged as the 2 top skaters in the world, and it is only just that we pay so much attention to their good/bad qualities, don't you think? :)

今このビデオを見るとなんだか涙が出てきてしまいます。まわりからのプレッシャーを感じることもなくただスケートが大好き！とのびのび演技しています。一瞬このときが一番？と思いますが、表現力、ステップ、スケーティングどれをとっても今のほうが明らかに上手です。ジャンプは体重や身長の変化などで難しくなっているかもしれませんが真央ちゃんがこの６年一生懸命練習してレベルを上げてきたのがわかります！これからジャンプもこのときぐらいの成功率にあげて最高の真央ちゃんスマイルを見せてくれると思います！まっすぐでがんばりやで優しくてかわいい真央ちゃんが大好きです。

I haven't seen this for a long time, and now I am amazed how much she has improved in these 4 yrs. While cute and energetic here, she is still juniorish and unpolished. I'm glad she has grown into such a sophisticated skater now.

Mao Asada's tripple axel is not wright. The pre-rotation is very long.(Nomally 90angle, but 180angle. It is a trick. It's not fulfill the 3A rotation. Please watch it again in slow-motion.

Cottesse, you are not smart enough to post critique of Mao. Have a problem with your analysis of Mao's skating technique? Go and find a real expert to help you deal with your inexperience in the subject of Mao's technical skills. I feel that Mao's perfect in every way.

waddleduckie, it's not true that Mao is perfect, although she is a phenomenal skater. She has had numerous problems in the past few years with her underrotated triple axel and flutz (meant to be a lutz, but similar to her flip jump), and these errors have been acknowledged and deducted by ISU judges, whom I would consider as experts. I sincerely hope she will be able to fix these problems in the near future :)

rirvuoced, I think you are out of touch. Czisny has flutz more than the other skaters and have you not focused on Czisny's problem with consistency as comparable with Mao's Mao's consistency is even better than that of Czisny. Why do people always blame Mao? I don't know. Maybe because they hated her.

It's because she is that good that we give so much interest to Mao. It is only obvious that Mao is more consistent than Czisny because she is that much of a greater skater. :) There is no hate, waddleduckie, and I believe that your stating that "Mao is perfect in every way" is also a prejudice. Mao and Yuna Kim are currently being acknowledged as the 2 top skaters in the world, and it is only just that we pay so much attention to their good/bad qualities, don't you think? :)

"Czisny has flutz more than the other skaters... Why do people always blame Mao?" Well, it's because we give most of our attention to the top skaters, who are currently Mao and Yuna Kim. I hope you get this, but people try to blame Mao because she is very good :) Hope you didn't misunderstand my positive cheering for Mao to improve.

mao is amazing...the harmony between the music and her moves..they are incredible! after watching her programmes ,you can see that carolina is nothing :) she really deserved the gold medal in World 2008..and besides,i love her all costumes..i think her all costumes are chosen really carefully,he looks adorable,so sweet..go mao!..
