I respectfully disagree. A movie adaptation doesnt have to completely match the book, but it must have enough of it. And Eragon didnt. But as much as I, a fan of the books, would like to blame it on that fact, I think the real source of the problem was Fangmeir's inexperience as a director.
At least Peter Jackson did a few of his own movies before tackling LOTR.
this movie does not need an entire remake most of the film is usable but when you cut good parts out just to make the movie shorter then you are just ringing it at least consult with the writer to see if there are parts he wants kept in thats what they did with harry potter

Couldn't agree more. The director totally ruined the first movie by adding lots of shit, changing time line and were thing happend. Brom wasn't killed in Gilead! He was killed outside Dras-Leona when they were hunting for the razacs before they met Murtagh and saved Arya. And in the battle between Durza and Eragon Safira doesn't get hurt and Durza does'nt use magic to create a black, flying beast. The actors did great, the director ruined the movie and I think they'll have to make a new one.

@oldiXD well exactly there ya go my opinion. I think Fantasy is cool but to spend so much time reading and investing in a world that is fake has no value on life. but that's just my opinion but then again it's also true it's not productive. I play video games so yeah I know. But if you wanna live in a fantasy world just play a game is much more detailed takes more talent, and kills a lot more time. Books are meant for seriousness and for the building of vocabulary IMO.

@oldiXD true is not cool to the movie but then again obviously the originator of the book or comic or whatever don't care to have it missing some things as long as they get a strong sensation of what it was supposed to be, going to see Pirnce of Persia tuesday and personally can't wait for Avatar the Last Airbender movie to see that in realistic terms looks nice.

Couldn't agree more. The director totally ruined the first movie by adding lots of shit, changing time line and were thing happend. Brom wasn't killed in Gilead! He was killed outside Dras-Leona when they were hunting for the razacs before they met Murtagh and saved Arya. And in the battle between Durza and Eragon Safira doesn't get hurt and Durza does'nt use magic to create a black, flying beast. The actors did great, the director ruined the movie and I think they'll have to make a new one.
