Talk about ending on a downer. It was a relief to see her up and talking the next day. When it happened, however, it was very frightening. First Rule: NEVER move a person after a fall you will most likely make it worse. There is a reason why when your put into a stretcher there is this box shaped (cast?) that is used to keep your head from moving as much as possible. You never know what damage had been done so you want to take precautions.

I remember watching this the day that it happened, There was SEVERAL falls but not as bad as this one, I honestly believe that there was too much ice flakes or whatever you call it that's on the rink they should have cleaned off the rink every other performance to have prevented such a tragic event, Does anyone know the outcome of the woman if she survived with out serious injury?

It's kind of interesting, horrible, but interesting that both Totmianina and Berezhnaya suffered a serious head injury before winning olympic gold. They actually won the gold one after another, Berezhnaya in 2002 and Totmianina in 2006. Berezhnaya of course had a much more serious trauma, she had to learn how to walk and even speak again, imagine that, no one even thought she'd skate ever again.
