I'm glad, our police in Germany doesn't use tasers. I think a police officer is more likely to use his taser than his gun. In Germany, the use of force by the police is highly regulated, an officer has to justify everything, what he does.
Obviously, in the US, this regulation is not viable, as things are much different from most parts of Europe. Nevertheless I think tasers make things even worse. Guns are more threatening than tasers and therefore don't have to be used that often, I think.
The problem is Gangs, although Police are supposed to be authorised, I see gang related persona within the Police, NOT all, IF I shoot a police officer, then my body is brown bread, Police shoot a civilian no big deal, now turn the tables, if Police shoot a suspect and their whole county beats that police officer to death, and any suspect because of that shooting, would Police be so quick to use any deadly force.?

Someone made the suggestion that all cops who use tazers, rightly or wrongly, should have the tazer used on them, just to remind them what it feels like.

Everytime the taser is discharged over here it is recorded on the actual device itself, including how many times it was discharged, so the cop can't say he or she didn't use it.
The cop then has to fill in a form explaining exactly why he or she fired the taser.
They are also thinking about attaching a tiny camera to the taser everytime it is activated.

The gun shot 50k volts into the child... mebbe 30K would have been just as effective without killing the boy. Police should still be able to use tazors on violent kids to subdue them no matter what the size difference is.
it's fucked they're using taser's alot here in oz, a young girl was tasered cause she was looking after her friend cause she was hit by a car, the police officers asked her to move and she wouldn't she just wanted to look after her friend!!!! I don't get it.
