Well remember the movie's distribution rights were settled as far back as the early '80s when movies were first released on VHS. Copyright rules were somewhat different. For some reason, copyrighting a movie is different from copyrighting episodes of a TV series.

You know what you CAN do?  Make a DVD about you and your friends MAKING these episodes (showing writing sessions, bloopers, deleted audio takes, etc.), and include the actual dubs as special features. That's how Dan Poole has been able to sell his "Green Goblin's Last Stand" movie without having to deal with any lawsuits from Marvel. :)
