Ol school Miami shit! I still the single on cassette.........
"Don't push me.... cause.... I'm.... close to the edge" That shit got bit by rappers and made millions from it! You heard it first..... right here!
I remember tripping balls on the bus ride to "Grad nite" my senior year jamming to the single over and over spitting the lyrics from beginning to end........
Society is not a crew, he is an individual, a member of the X Minista Professor Griff's Miami crew., the L.A. D., the Last Asiatic Disciples, he also was part of the G O D

@scruffyrunkin You must have graduated from high school before 1998! Only those who got out of school before juvenile got on the scene could know the real hip hop!!!!
Yo slice Im a bronx dude but you did your thing on the track and on the turntables rakim was a great choice where did you learn how to scratch nuff respect. Like my man said it aint where you from its where ya at.
I rememeber this was beign pushed by Luke Skywalker Records... We got two 12 inch LPs off a promotions truck in Dallas Tx... I would try to jugle both records... I learned how to scratch on this beat... Big ups to my DirtyBoy Family rep'n Oak Cliff, Dallas, Tx...
speaking as someone born and raised in miami, i remember when this song hit the airwaves. it was so hard to find after they stopped making cassettte singles. Thanks for taking me back. this shong is the sh-t!!!!!
Seriously, you do not know how long I have been searching for this song. I got alot of old school hip-hop music this is a MUST NEED SONG for my collection. I remember hearing this when it was one of those nights where a radio signal would travel very far. Get this, I was in Tampa and was picking up 99Jamz and I think it was Khaled or Suicide when they played this and I said I must get this song. I think they aired the video on BET Rap City as well too. Good looking out. Thanks for Youtube.
Damn...those strings get me every time...this track was, and still is an amazing piece of music. Shame the full album never came out - Slice, you killed them joints!
Miami done did on that one....one of the best track ever produced in my book.dope lyrics....miss being a young listing to that on my tape deck on the streets on miami.....
Thank you for the love on this record my dude. I just was trying to be different and show that Miami had real hip hop to offer!!! A skilled mc over a dope beat!!!
real hiphop from miami in the "stickup kid" era. this suprised me being on luke records during his "label president as headline artist" phase.the other backpack group HomeTeam was garbage.society was a gem amongst suckas!!
I was jamming this cd in my truck last night and I figured I'd find the video here!! Thanks for posting. Whatever happened to hip hop like this, Onyx, King Sun, Craig Mack and so many others? This is the ill shit for real..

You are welcome! I remember I was like 18 when this came out, and we would turn it up in the car...we had a bad ass system...just chillin' on the way to L.B.I. in the summer time...ahhhh those were the days! This one I think escaped some ppl, cuz some don't know what I'm talking about when I mention it, lol however if they started playing this joint right here again, phsst they'd be lovin' it the same <3
If Luke had put this record on it's own platform and not tried to release it and his It's your Birthday album at the same time, This would have blown up on another level to me. I still get calls getting props for the beat and concept of the song. Most folks seem to only know it though when they hear it in the club..lol.

Society is one person, he was later on Slip and Slide Records and did that "In America" track with Trick Daddy. I thought Society was a NY guy signed to a Florida label?
Yeah he is from Long Island and hooked up with Griff I believe around 90/91. He was the act although we were attached to a crew called The Field Nigghuz. Moreso him than me but I was the dj producer for that crew during that time period...
Man I remember this track I heard this on the wake up show back in the day! Sway & Tech back in the early 90's on KMEL used to play all that good music. Anybody remember the Invisees?
Thank you soo much for posting this video. I have been trying to find it for a long time. I'm the Slice that is referenced to about 1:30 in this track and am the guy on the turntables in this video..
