I loved Danny from day 1 at the auditions at Idol, I knew he would go very very far, and hes a Christian to boot! I am a Christian woman as well, and I know God is up in heaven looking down, smiling and saying Good Job my son! But since you DID make the comparison...neither Danny (nor Kris) are even in the same league with Adam Lambert. You may not like his "theatrics" or the fact that he is gay, but those who are musically trained and qualified to assess his talent (opera teachers, for instance) give him very high marks. Few people have his vocal range and NO ONE has his stage presence. Adam Lambert is the TOTAL PACKAGE!
2 They have that quality of being REAL and having an OPEN heart, where all of their music comes from. .No self consciousness, the singing is FREE and comes from beyond them. That Free Spirit we all deep down would like to express. Adam doesn't have this, he knows it, why don't you?
1.Yes he has the training, and the voice and the cookie cutter theatrics. What he lacks is something you just can't buy, or train for. or imitate. It's that FREE SPIRIT that some people who are comfortable with themselves, because they are righteous. have. Many performers have to drink or take drugs to get that EGO out of the way, Not so performers like Danny Gokey, James Taylor, Crystal Bowersox.
3. It's why, when he was given that FreeMason boost to mentor on Idol, he said that Crystal sings from the heart. Look at his face, when he says that. Listen to his voice.
It is not hard to see in that instant. that what we suspected of him all along is corrrect.
Adam's power comes in Musical Theater, putting on a costume, playing a part, being 'entertaining' instead of just "BEING".

My wife and I saw Danny at the Grand Ole Opry, by far the best perfomer there. We wished it would have been just his show, but the 2 songs he performed were excellant.

I loved Danny from day 1 at the auditions at Idol, I knew he would go very very far, and hes a Christian to boot! I am a Christian woman as well, and I know God is up in heaven looking down, smiling and saying Good Job my son! Keep the good work and great singing up Danny, I know will God will send you some beautiful wonderful woman for you to be with, I know you had one, but its good to have someone in your life to share your everything with! @marksicad Why did you have to make a comparison? Why not just say he's good, or whatever. But since you DID make the comparison...neither Danny (nor Kris) are even in the same league with Adam Lambert. You may not like his "theatrics" or the fact that he is gay, but those who are musically trained and qualified to assess his talent (opera teachers, for instance) give him very high marks. Few people have his vocal range and NO ONE has his stage presence. Adam Lambert is the TOTAL PACKAGE!

1.Yes he has the training, and the voice and the cookie cutter theatrics. What he lacks is something you just can't buy, or train for. or imitate. It's that FREE SPIRIT that some people who are comfortable with themselves, because they are righteous. have. Many performers have to drink or take drugs to get that EGO out of the way, Not so performers like Danny Gokey, James Taylor, Crystal Bowersox.

This will definetly be a hit on the country charts. Is there a video out for this song? Very touching but what else would you expect from Danny. The entire CD is awesome. I beleive his 2 biggest hits on his CD will be Its only and I will not say goodbye. The power in I will not say good bye is amazing, but like I said what else would you expect from the Gokey.
