I have 2 learing disabltes dysgraiha and dysclia I am 20 and i love dolls so don't look at me or stare because it makes me feel bad i am not perfect but no one is
This song is BEAUTIFUL and really touched me and my husband. Thank you for recording it!! We have a daughter who gave birth to a baby 15 weeks early. Their lives have not been easy and very few people really understand. My grandson spent 7 months in the NICU and had 11 surgeries. He has chronic lung disease, a trach and a feeding tube, but he is our little miracle. We thank God for him every day.
Bawling as I listen. I did choose to adopt my little guys but they so bless me and you are right, I am the one with speical needs, theya re perfect :)
Very good song i need to give this to my good friend whos the special ed cordinator for school my son is ADHD and its just has hard but hes special to so many with a soft heart
I would like to thank Karen Taylor-Good and Lisa Aschmann for writing this touching song. As someone who grew up with a mild case of Aspergers, it felt touching to me to hear a song that highlighted the people that care for special needs children. Thank you.
This is such a beautiful song. It is so uplifting. I am a mom to a special needs baby girl. She is one year old and has Holoprosencephaly (HPE). She has beaten every doctors diagnosis. She is our miracle baby.
Wow....boy did I cry......I have a now 5 yr old whom was born at 23 weeks.....He has CP..shunted......seizures.....some eyesight issues....the lists goes on.....but I am soooooo proud to be his mom.....from the day he was born he has given me a totally different outlook on live
i was just 16 when i had my daughter who has cerebral palsy 2 years on were going stong and she is progressing to the best of her ability and i am so proud of her <3 xx
Karen Taylor Good is one of my favorite singers -- she could be more widely known...Just sharing this today. Many of her songs are stories about the daily struggles that likewise get little "play." I think that she's a poet as well as a fine singer.
what a beatifull song...........my little girl has just been diagnosed with autism and learning difficulties................she choose us to be her mum and dad and we love here more than anything but its kind of hard when she is having a difficult day and people stare at us in the street and remarks........i could do with a friend sometimes to talk to who wont judge
Karen, You are such an annointed singer, songwriter and piano player. I love your songs and being a singer, songwriter and piano player myself I can appreciate your gifts. You are such a blessing. Thank you.
Thought I would pop back and have another listen as I have done a few times. I really think this is such a good moving song. Thanks for dropping a comment on my channel by the way :)
This video pretty much says it all, as alot of people-friends and family really dont now how parents with special needs children really feel or think.............
Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed, check out this site called tubeviews [dot net] It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 Channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i'm going to working on.
i was 18 when i got pregnant, not ready for a healthy baby much less a special needs baby, but God showed me i was strong enough, & this song, i listen to it everyday, it helps me so much! sometimes all i need is a hug or someone tell me they love me. my friends left me, after i had her. i need them now more than ever!! IMA PARENT JUS LIKE U, BUT I HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS!!!!
@lilmoma1108 to me, it sounds like your friend(s) weren't much of a friend(s) if they left you when you were down...if one of my friends need help like you did, I would have stayed. Most of my family has special needs, and it comes a bit easy to take care of them. I pray that you find help along the way with your little girl ;-)
My only criticism is the part about "we'd soon be giving birth. "
We have thousands of adoptive parents in Canada and elsewhere fighting the same fight every day, dead exhausted trying to secure services for children and teens whose needs are very high and often frankly completely underserviced. Nice to see someone who gets it though.
WOW....my daughter suffered from encephalitis after her MMR at one year of age. she is now three but operates at a 9-12 month range. It is so hard. This song is so meaningful. I have lost my marriage and house and most everything since this happened two years ago. Thank you.
I have 2 sons w/autism. One son suffered encephalitis from the DPT vaccine in 1981 at age 13 months. He regressed as is now totally dependent on caregivers. For so many years I felt exactly like the lyrics of this song. I no longer feel so alone...
What a beautiful song that just brought me to tears! To make it more special, we used to attend that school and my daughter is in one of the photos. Thank you for that beautiful tribute to the parents too!
that song was just amazing, brought tears to my eyes, Having my own special needs daughter I know exactly what you mean. They are people to, they have feelings to and they need us just as much as we need them. Keep writing and sharing your beautiful songs, Amen
Thank you so much for this beautiful song that says it all. My nephew is autistic and I never really felt what my sister was going through, though I tried to. Now my daughter has been diagnosed with PDD and I understand, and now thanks to you, others will hear what we need from them.
gosh i have goosebumps its soooooo true i wish all my friends who have deserted or who avoid me since i had my special daughter 2 years ago could hear this and understand how i feel!!
This song embodies every parent of a special needs child. It doesn't matter what sort of "special needs" child you have, we ALL need understanding. Karen I don't know how you got through the song without breaking down in tears while singing it. Excellent job and excellent message. Thank you.
This is the greatest video out there that represents the hardship that parents with special needs children go through. I am the Aunt of an Autistic nephew and I am very prould of him in the improvements that he has made and how beautifully my sister has dealt with all the hardships. Watching her with all her strength and patience has been very inspirational. God Bless!!
For each of us who mother a child with special needs, this says it all. We need our families, friends, churches, schools, to understand that we are no different than any other mom. We aren't saints with halos; when I am asked "how do you do it every day?" I want to ask...what else can I do? This is my child, forever and always. Nanaruth
What an awesome song! I've never heard a song that captured all these mixed emotions so well. I have a 5 year old daughter with Angelman Syndrome and this song says so much of what I've wanted to say. Thank you!
