just test drove the R8 today, it's an awesome car. if you want to show off its supercar look and enjoy the sound of the engine, take R8. if you want dont care much about the looks, and to feel the quality (general quality as in, how it drives, brakes, gear changes etc) of a car then go for a carrera.

The R8 is good, very good for the price and looks like a great car, but the engine sounds like a truck.... Porsche 911 (GT2) is still the KING.

and pretty much everyone agrees that the M division at bmw really screwed up with their redesigned m5 by giving it too much electronic crap and you wind up only gettting 400 hp out of a car that is supposed to have 500? Oh yeah i forgot you got to set it everytime you want 500 hp lol, oh and then take that same exact engine and stick it in a 6 series (Which could possibly be ugliest car ever, after the bentley gt of course) and charge people an extra 30k, even though theyre the EXACT same speed

lol m powered bmw? yeah ok so even the NEW m3 which is coming out only has rumored 390 or so hp which is 30 less than this and is supposed to be going for 100k, this goes for like 15k more, only it has more hp is faster and looks AWESOME. which would you rather take? this or a boring 3 series fitted with more hp and a carbon fiber roof that doesnt stand out at all. Or something that pretty much every automative expert has labeled a truly special car, the r8....

Thats a great video. I drove the R8 at the Boxberg circuit in Germany. Its a stunning car, amazing to drive but not difficult, & sounds so good, & makes its rivals look boring.

Stay tuned for the next version of the R8 which will likely feature a V12 TDI from the LeMans R10. The Audi Q7 is already in line to receive the diesel motor. look for the Q7 V12 TDI stateside in no more than 18 months

I saw one yesterday, parked. R8 looks small like toy. It has super supercar style, but honestly it's super sports car, not supercar; It lacks W12 or V10 which Audi will use later(I guess), to be in "Supercar" group. R8 is so beautiful, in V8-engines it maybe more astonishing than F430 & Aston, powerful too.

Interesting. This car is decent. soul? maybe not. but where passion might be missing, engineering seems to have substituted quite well. but 420hp is not enough power for a supercar status. It's still an audi too....I'd go for a 911 turbo for that price.

Prolly because the concept car was this bull sky blue thing they show all the time. And yeah waiting for the v10 and may b the smaller one they r comming up with in 2008-09 for my girl, lol.
