BEST basic tip i have heard yet! all this time i've been doing everything to get some distance with the hips but a lot of people, including me, get some misconceptions and you definitely cleared that up.. i slice and block shots out like there is no tomorrow, naturally, too, and it kills distance, things like this are a good lesson to learn for people not knowing how to shift weight during the whole swing, great video
R. McIlroy uses a dramatic example of this "sitting down" motion as he starts to drive forward. This is a great move or just swing thought to start with. Also (for me) if I'm blocking I think 3 thoughts:
1) FINISH your shoulder turn back.
2) Accelerate SMOOTHLY
3) Keep your right heel down a little longer during release.
Number 3 sounds like it might actually make blocking worse - but it seems to help me release.
I am going to the range tomorrow and I am going to try this. If it works, I owe you BIG time. I don't think I even need to worry about putting the stick in my belt buckle because the visual your video provides gives me a clear instruction as to what needs to be done - let my arms release before my hip. Thanks.
Hi Quick question - the weight is transferring to left around your back side - is this correct - you are right - we are told the opposite - kindly clarify - regards Mohammed
Great instruction. I know it works because my impact posion improved immediately. Feels unusual at first, but allowed for a full release of the club. End of my big block
I do this drill with an old golf shaft and my iron shots improve instantly.

Talk about your campy golf instructors. What was the camera guy doing during this video!?! Low budget at its best.
