wow amazing! You guys came to earl haig today, I was front row and fell in love with your music! I've always aspired to create music with a similar sound such as yours... rnb/hip hop (with some rock) and rap has taken over me many years ago, and I beg that you guys come again!
@roboshuffle yes, the track was recorded using Saidah's phone during a writing session with her guitarist Donna Grantis when they had no other recording device available and wanted to lay tracks down. Thus the phone demos were born. The demos were released as a prelude to her full length album. For more info check her vlogs on her youtube channel: sbtmusic
Thanks! I'm a big fan of your music and its dope that you are forging your own style in a time of alot of carbon copy music. I am definitely awaiting a full LP release.
@MrChicagoTony It's from the EP called Phone Demos and it was literally recorded from a phone, hence the sound. I haven't heard any other version and guess she's keeping with that theme. Dope video but I would also love to hear a properly recorded version
@MrChicagoTony This was a demo that was an accident. Kinda, letting folks be a fly on the wall, this was actually the very first recording of the song after Donna and I had finished writing the song. Thanks for the comment.
Sorry, I just think the audio should have become 'clearer' after that first pause in the song...then kick in the full energy version (from the LP?).
It just ends up not really matching the visuals much...which are great by the way. Just would have been alot more effective with a clean version of the song.
Hopefully your next video will have better audio to show off your great voice.
@MrChicagoTony I hear you totally, the LP version was in the works when we did the video...and there will be more videos to come from the LP ;) No need to be sorry either, I appreciate your opinion.
From the Phone Demos EP. This song was a beautiful accident. Donna Grantis (my guitarist) and I were trying to remember our ideas so decided to record them on a cellphone voice notes, and when we listened back and shared them with other people, they caught the essence of the raw emotion that we were trying to capture in the songs. The beauty of the video is that it captures the raw? simplicity of the song and brings the feeling of era that the lo-fi sound capture from a cellphone. -? SBT
absolutely Brilliant!

What's with the audio? Sounds like it was recorded with a handheld tape recorder or something. Is that the vibe they were going for?

This is a very cool video...but the audio seems off, and doesn't do it justice. Looking forward to the album though.

Is there something wrong with the sound? Is this just a demo version of the video to be done with better sound later on?
I'm kind of confused...its pretty unlistenable like this...I like the clean version of this song much better.
