It's funny that nobody in our platoon recalls 80% of the story that Cornford has been telling for the last 4 years. I understand that the media blows things out of proportion 90% of the time, but in this case, Steven Cornford has been telling a mostly bogus story since 2007 and this story on 60 Minutes is too much for most of us to handle, even those of us who were in our vehicles and away from the rest of the platoon at the time. I hope someday he will finally be exposed as what he really is.
to all the folks calling him a hero. his side of the story is completely false. yes we lost a true hero in 1st lt. phillip neel that night and yes cornford was injured but this story told is making me sick to my stomach. Take it from me, I was there. and i'm sure the rest of stick em' deep will say the same thing.
I deployed with Steven Cornford to Iraq and I can tell each and everyone of you now that you all have been duped. Steven you left Iraq on the wings of a lie. You are disrespecting the memory everyone has of the lieutenant.
Hello Steven i too just saw your interview on 60 minutes. I'm surprised after what you've been through and what you've saw that you still believe that war is okay to participate in. Have you ever sought the Bibles view on the matter? Living is difficult enough, but then to add to it all the challenges that comes with participating in war. Love your enemy and stop trying to kill him. Love could have accomplished so much more. So many innocent lives lost or ruined because of disobedience to God.
It is hard not to get angry with people who complain about every little thing even if you haven't had your experience. They take their freedrom and rights forgranted, and depend on men like you to fight their battles. You will get better. Trust me. I teared up watching you speak about getting angry. Proud of you. Hank Faulkner NCC USN Ret.
I will also continue to pray for YOU that God will Please give you comfort and inner peace, that ALL OF US CIVILIANS KNOW YOU DESERVE ! Please know we really DO CARE! and we REALLY DO appreciate your dedication, service, and thank you for the cross you carry that made ours and future generations possible and forever grateful. Steven, as a civilian, and in memory of your Lt., I will attend services at Arlington this year on Veterans Day! A small way to say THANK YOU for your service and sacrifices. This will not be the first time I've attended services there on Veterans Day or Memorial Day, But this will be a more appreciative and thoughtful visit to Arlington for me. Please Sgt Cornford, Please know that I DO go on day to day praying for the souls of your comrades that made my day-to-day routine possible.2 be cont
Steven, I have just watched you on CBS' "60 Minutes," and you made me cry. I cannot tell you how much respect and admiration I have for you (and your "brothers in arms"), how proud I am of you, and all that you have accomplished. God bless you and your family, my friend!
