Even though it doesn't do anything new or innovative, you have to admit. Compared to the poorly designed shooters of today (you know, the ones where you fight the same two enemy types that come from one, single direction, where their only behavior is "duck and cover"?) this game is a masterpiece. This is probably one of the best shooters on today's market next to Bulletstorm...although I'm not saying it's a great game, it's pretty good, but everything other FPS just sucks so fucking hard.

Every weapon you showed in the part starting 7:55 is indeed in DNF.

As for the minigames, you don't have to do most of them. You can avoid the hard pinball machines, and you can even ignore the popcorn when nuking it.

You are right ofcorse I was hoping for a wretched stay up for hours trying to finish "that damn room" in classic duke fassion where enemies were prone to assrape you through you're armpit unless you were planning that shit out and taking them out quick, good bloody shooting fun with pleanty of explosions and their was.... like none of that. I'm amazed that some people defend this game. It's possibly the worst shooter I've ever played. Its gameplay fails on every level, and it relies entirely on macho, nostalgic, style over substance bullshit to cover up its shortcomings. Crazy, stupid fun is great when it works, and DNF has the crazy and stupid down, but the fun is buried beneath six feet of manure.

Pretty good review, but it seems like you were afraid to dislike this game. In your Dead Rising 2 and Assassin's Creed 2, you treated those games as they deserved and tore them apart. With this review, you pointed out some of the flaws of the game but completely left out others. For example, you failed to mention that the game makes fun of games like Halo and Half-Life, which are SIGNIFICANTLY better games, and that the game even borrows mechanics from the games it is insulting.
