  • I apologize for my political rantings

  • @BirthOfSerpents No apology needed! I appreciate it.

  • Im no expert in politics, the american media is pretty limited and restricted (especially nowadays) and as im sure you heard america is slowly going to shit, slowly but surely.

*Sigh* I could rant and rant about politics but there really seems to be no point, nothing changes, and the people just end up getting screwed over in the end.

i will end on one note though, America my beloved country needs to get the hell out of the middle east, the war is costing the american people to dearly!

  • I live in america and I agree that the flow of money is important to a nation HOWEVER capitalism time and time again has proven to harm america through one thing that is a product of it GREED. The biggest problem that happened not to long ago was the wealthy being able to "buy" political power and influence the government. The bailouts were among the biggest mistake america made. To add, Americas politicians seem to love invading other countries for profit even when it costs taxpayers money

  • Here here, Gent.

  • @micahhenry Hurrah!

  • Freedom and personal liberty are on the decline. We have some similar thoughts on things political. Interesting video, I liked the mask.

  • @Samwise7RPG Thank you!

  • Thanks for that good speech.

  • @TheVikingHill Thank you for watching!

  • Comment removed

  • @ruffeeh I suppose that it does!

  • I agree for the most part with what you said in this video Gent, but I would add one caveat.

I believe that we should unhesitatingly stand on the side of Liberty at all times, that we must never falter to speak out and defend Individual Rights against the oppression of the majority, but I would strongly add that we should also do your best to educate ourselves and to be informed so that when we do speak out, we do so with reason, understanding, & a firm grasp of the problems facing our nations.

  • con't: It is good to know what you believe in, and what you don't, but it is just as important that you be able to explain your beliefs to others, and defend your views so that you know that you are in the right.

Anyway, great vid. Best wishes for a very happy, healthy, and free new year to you and yours.

    Kudos!

  • @TheMediaBunker I agree wholeheartedly. Education should be at the forefront of all nations priorities. Factual education not slanted by one political party or another.

  • Great video, Gent. You are a very effective speaker, indeed. I've been doing what I can since day one of the Occupy movements. My dad and I are calling our congressmen and sending them emails of protest when we can. And we won't stop.

I've just started a Let's Play! channel, and I'm not about to let them take that away from me.

  • @GAWproductions Then kudos to you and to your father. You both have my respect.

  • Very nice. This will go to my favorites indeed. The presidental election is here on january and I plan to vote for a person I'm sure will not win. But that's not what the game is about, like you said :)

  • @hammeredshitsteak Indeed. Vote for who you feel is right.

  • ....why is this called a Christmas Speech again?

  • @TtheWriter I prefixed it and suffixed it by saying Merry Christmas!

  • You wore the mask the whole time.

  • @woodwwad Indeed I did. Do you feel I was hiding something?

  • Well said, Gentleman, well said.

  • @atari67 Thank you.

  • Let me just say this is very un-technocratic of you. Good on you, sir.

  • @alokov it's all a work

  • @woodwwad The technocracy don't have me yet.

  • @alokov Thank you, sir.

  • I agree with just about everything you said.

  • @tfwoods3 Very kind of you to say so!

  • Firstly great mask XD but I agree with all of the speech.

  • @ParadoxTWC Thank you.

  • In my opinion, it seems that peoples' view of society is that of two extremes: optimism and pessimism. The optimists are the so called "complacent" ones. They feel that nothing is wrong, and that all the problems will eventually straighten themselves out.

On the other hand, that pessimists take all the worlds problems, which seem extremely important but in perspective are almost meaningless, and scream them from the rooftops.

  • @Sroge4 Would you say the problems I've addressed are meaningless? Free speech being one?

  • @clackclickbang

Meaningless, no. The point I was trying to make in my above post (before running out of space) was that both are right, and both are wrong.

In the defense of the optimists, society has been prone to fixing itself over the ages. Nazi Germany fell to the Allies, the USSR eventually dissolved into various republics, and Guy Fawkes blew up parliament.

For the pessimists, the world needed its Allies, its Guy Fawkes, etc.

Someone has to hope for the best, and someone needs to act.

  • Also do vote for tiny parties. The big ones are an indistinguishable mess of Extreme Centre Public School Old Boy twats.

  • @DarthAzabrush I couldn't agree more.

  • well spoken, Happy holidays!

  • @WolfgangNightshadow And to you!

  • cont- I fear that it is too late for the USA. Our government was bought and paid for a long time ago. The corporations of America have been given carte blanche to do what they want. Every four years voter turn out drops just a little bit more and I believe that is the most dangerous threat this country has ever known. One of these days there will be a real question of legitimacy in the U.S. and that is when the sky falls.

  • @calistman222 But who will raise the flag of rebellion?

  • Democracy is fatally flawed. Capitalism is problematic, but it has been known to work under certain paradigms. Rome, Athens, all of history warns against the illusion of a democracy... especially a democracy that exists along side capitalism. The irony is that IF we had a government that functioned properly, the question of capitalism would be irrelevant. Americans marvel at the integrity of British politicians. I don't think the UK knows just how much the world looks up to you.

  • @calistman222 Integrity? What kind of rose tinted view do you guys have? They're even more bent than yours!

  • @DarthAzabrush Nonsense! Expense claims are overblown compared to the manic corruption in the USA. I compare expense abuse to claiming overtime at my workplace without working it, or stealing office supplies. I'd much rather our leaders did that than engaged in wholesale selling out.

  • @clackclickbang Well I have a particularly bad local MP. He got in on a combination of the fall out from Iraq (which ironically the incumbent voted against) and a blatantly homophobic campaign. He still works full time as a lawyer and has 7 kids (probably more now I haven't checked his wiki for a while.) He's also rather amusingly on the payrol of both the Israeli government and the MCGB.

  • @DarthAzabrush Must be a Tory.

  • @clackclickbang What a depressingly good guess.

  • @DarthAzabrush It's a sad state of affairs when the Green Party is the best party.

  • @calistman222 I think it's touching that the world does. Our political system, while flawed, is much better than most.

  • You need a Pope hat!

Ah, I was hoping for a political diatribe. I wear my politics on my sleeve. But money also needs to be controlled. Uncontrolled it will destroy democracy. Money flows up and grants unseemly power to it's possessors.

    Infantile fantasies. Galt's Folly.

Strong civil liberties, weak corporate power.

It does make governing a whole lot simpler. No pesky courts slowing down the oppression.

Your vote is your voice. Don't be silent.

    Happy Holidays Sir.

  • @tetsubo57 I wouldn't want to be associated with that religion.

I strongly believe money makes the world go round. It should be regulated fiercely, but the rich shouldn't be punished for being rich. I don't believe they should have power just because they're rich, however.

    It's a fiction.

Corporations should not have the right to vote and should not sway political reps, but in your country especially (as well as Russia, India and China) they very much do.

    And to you!

  • Our government (UK government) is still following the route we decided upon at the end of the Second World War when we refused to join the then EC, that is the "Special Relationship" with the USA. And, regrettably, although I believe that a free market capitalist system is one of the best economic models for promoting growth, enterprise and a free society the inexorable redistribution of wealth towards the top 10% is endemic in a system where money is held above everything else. Merry Christmas!

  • @DaMoviesMan43 Indeed we are. Maybe in a couple of decades we'll start moving towards our geographical neighbours. Maybe.

  • Well said!

  • @DirtyBriefcase Thank you!

  • Merry Christmas sir!

  • @TemplarsCrusade01 And to you Sir!

  • Good speech, we don't agree on everything, but good solid speech. Merry Christmas&Happy new year.

  • @RexDogma And to you!

  • I was trying very hard to find a party that was voteable. Unfortunately we have a system where you have to get a number of signatures to have candidates on the list.

The small parties that made it on the list were leftovers from a recent split, some former communist party members and populists.

I just drew a line across ballot as to say "I was here but I have no candidate".

Life is getting better as civilization advances. No need to thank governments for this since it happens regardless.

  • @MarcinP2 There was genuinely no party with which you held any sympathies? Frightening.

  • @clackclickbang

    Obviously not possible.

I just decided at some point that if I cannot support some policy the party is forcing I cannot support them. More often than not this one policy I did not like is the one they will not give up on and throw the other ones under the bus.

Just my luck or maybe the governments and the people never agree.

  • Part of the problem is the developing world is starting to develope. Asian production power is overwhelming to the west. China for example is starting to outsource to Africa. African nations are inclined to deal with China a new partner with long term interested. The rich lose money we lose rights. My fed Rep Marcie Hinchey lives around corner,so I get the chance to express myself to him often. I count my blessing it's been times of good fortune for me. Happy Holidays to you buddy.

  • @blackbarnz Happy Holidays to you too!

  • I want to take the ears off, but I can't!

  • @Onionkid99 Take them off! Please!

  • Sounds like my socio-political beliefs are very similar to yours. Glad to know others remember the value of everything that's happened and everyone who's published ideas throughout history that give us what rights and privileges we've got today.

I always vote, too...Canada's not doing too badly right now, although there's plenty of pressing issues that need attention.

Merry Yule and new year, mate.

  • @SirPercivalGallant Merry Yule to you too!

  • the power is not here in Hollywood, it's in D.C.

  • @odin422 But Hollywood has a lot of money. I used them as an example.

  • @clackclickbang up here in the Hollywood hills sure...dwno there...poor as fuck. hahaha

  • RON PAUL 2012!

  • Huzzah! my friend. Well said.

  • @DaysonBrillet Huzzah indeed!

  • A good video full of good points. I have to admit Ive recently revealed to my lady how full of anxiety I am with these new crooked laws. I dont know if anyone else can feel it, but it's like the fire is on and were coming to a boiling point. Why would anyone for any reason promote a law that would restrict or inhibit? I love my country, and Im worried I might have to leave.

  • @TabletopTitan Tyler, I'm replying to your one because you've said 3 points I've been thinking of since end of 2008. I've had several friends not only leave Chicago, but leave the US in the past few years for these reasons. There is an entropic decay happening that is worrying, at best. Complacency and ignorance are endemic. I always think one begins change first internally and then branches out. Just those are always the hardest steps to make. Strange days indeed if one has the eyes to see

  • @23penguins32 At first I was willing to believe that it is always like this, and just now coming into being a man, Im noticing it for the first time. But that just feels like an excuse Ive been prepared to support even before I was aware of it. I think it's our duty to try and fight this. Too many people with power trying to make everyone else live the way they want. And this new Fascist law is like the final tipping of the scale. Our military is so bloated and full of die-hard zealots that -

  • @TabletopTitan I feel if they were turned against us, no weapons we can obtain and no force we could muster could match them. And with the defense budget towering ever higher, it's like we dont want the biggest stick, we want the whole forest! It keeps me up at night, seeing a place I love churning into a bastard perversion of itself...Or rather, what my naive eyes perceived it to be.

  • @TabletopTitan It's cultural focus, when we turn out more financiers than teachers, doctors, etc. we're saying money is the most important thing. It is important, right or wrong. I think there's an element of 'it' that's always been like this, but now it's growing again. I sort of see it as in a way an attempt to return to an oligarchic feudal system with a majority in the lowest caste. Keep them distracted&misinformed.. Americans are the only people constitutionally able to overthrow government

  • @23penguins32 You should live in our green and pleasant land. We have a stone circle just waiting for you.

  • @clackclickbang And I have been to most of them indeed. I hear them calling now...

  • @TabletopTitan Where would you plan to go if you left your current nation?

  • @clackclickbang Im not really sure. Perhaps the lands of my heritage, Denmark or Poland. I would like to visit the UK, but Im not sure I would want to exchange evil and scheming for inept and pandering as far as my government is concerned. In my heart, I want to go to a place like Rapture. Where there is an idea of where mankind should be, and this petty bullshit over money, faith, and lifestyle isnt everyone's business. Too many people trying to think for everyone else.

  • The biggest underlying problem is the health of the economy is based on constant economic growth. The underlying fuel of economic growth is population growth and ever greater demand for consumables. The biggest consumable is non-renewable resources. Population growth cannot continue for ever. Consumption of fossil fuels that will run out obviously cannot go on forever. Land is needed for agriculture and housing. Land 'consumption' cannot carry on forever.

    Growth stops - economy stops.

  • @AnonGemini There is only one solution. Kill 99% of the population and stick with the waterwheels and windmills. But don't worry. If we can't be bothered to do it mathematics will.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

  • @AnonGemini

The demand is growing but type of demand is changing.

We now demand microscopic electronics, high tech gadgets and luxury goods.

Those do not take much resources to produce, they take manpower and technical know-how and sophisticated tools.

Then there is entertainment which is made in digital form and personal services.

The population growth is coming to a stop in developed countries and we are still far far away from populating the planet.

  • @MarcinP2 Indeed we are. Overpopulation is a nightmare, not a reality.

  • Well said. In the republic of the US, money dominates. The system is more of a socialism for the corporations rather than capitalism. Most leaders of both political parties have become so chummy with corporate lobbyists they have not sold their vote, but subconsciously allowed their thinking to align with their corporate masters. This influence dominates national politics; local leaders may have less association with the corporations.

Its possible to find a creative way, but I'm not sure what.

  • @mollytherealdeal Shall we leave to our South American islands with our idyllic objectivist utopias?

  • Um, no I don't believe our president does any speech for Christmas.

  • @Azartusfar No? A shame.

  • capitalism without limits is bad, but capitalism in general is an excellent idea.

  • @lockman776 Agreed.

  • Trying to prevent them (Iran) from doing so will simply lead to a self fulfilling prophesy--war.

  • I believe the US has been creating its own enemies for the last several decades. We don't need to have a military presence all over the world, or become entangled in Mid East wars. Yet we are continuously being tricked into them by politicians who either have a buck to make or want to put their stamp on history. IMO we don't have the right to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear program (everyone and their grandma's have one) (part 2)

  • @Backfromthedeadguy I couldn't agree with you more.

  • WELL YOU CERTAINLY ARE A QUEEN.

But seriously, the ideal state of living is a mere pipe dream, no matter how you see it. Utopia is an ideal, not a possibility. Why? The people within the utopia bring down the walls. Communism, capitalism, all capable of being perfect states if it weren't for the greed and pettiness of people.

We ruin everything, it's our nature. I'd say it was the original sin, but my problem isn't with freewill, it's with those who abuse it.

  • @Deckof51 Oh I know how any ideal state of living is a pipe dream. Whatever happens will leave some people dissatisfied and let's be honest; the rich will always have the power.

  • These are the very reasons why I'm a Ron Paul supporter. I don't agree with everything about him but his stance on big government and our military involvement overseas is why I'll vote for him (if he gets that far). I predict that if any one but Ron Paul gets elected into the White House the US will have a major military conflict with Iran in the next few years. And though I'm not an economic isolationist (I do believe in keeping jobs in the US though) I have become a military one. (end part 1)

  • and what if Rapture suddenly got SOPA?

  • @Ardenon1 I'd move to Columbia.

  • well said gent

  • @leon3129 Thanks :o)

  • Nice hat.

  • @kato1972 Thank you.

  • Unlike the political speeches, you've got that Bioshock mask which totaly makes it worth watching

  • @Ardenon1 Huzzah!
