I am shocked by this. I remember the band from 1984 when it was drenched in overlapping guitar sustain, dirt and ring and then the lipstick melody on top - a sweet treat. But come 1988 or whatever, and the producers get to it, all clean beats and no wonder...no wonder they dissapeared. Better days indeed! It took until Nirvana and a bitta Butch Vig (if we believe the hype) put the the filth back in.
