I've heard this song many times but this is the first time I've seen the video, which starts out looking like an arty commercial for a fragrance, then escalates into a totally over-the-top smorgasbord of kitschy weirdness akin to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I'm not sure what they were they thinking when they made this. It speaks to the real dimensions of love and passion which can be dark, sorrowful, tearstained, mystical,and gothic along side the cliched bright notes which ascend. If more of us could plumb more of the depths of such passion, a lot more relationships would be richer for it.

Great song, and while I love the dark feel to it, it's not as emotional as I expected such a heartfelt song to be. It's like she's trying to show off men with hot bods, and a bunch of children for some reason. I like the house's use as a metaphor, but really, the teens in football gear? Fantasizing and spacing out when a little boy shakes your hand? It's a shallow and creepy addition in my opinion.

@asiaball I understand the metaphor of the mansion their built by the love, and how each room is like a precious memory that she once enjoyed living in and now runs through dwelling in pain. It's just the little boys obsession she has that's really weird. I'm not referring to the child with wings, or even the ones with glowing eyes, but the ones with the football gear, and how she stares off at the kids while shaking their hands, and the men in underwear. makes it seem more shallow =/

It speaks to the real dimensions of love and passion which can be dark, sorrowful, tearstained, mystical,and gothic along side the cliched bright notes which ascend. If more of us could plumb more of the depths of such passion, a lot more relationships would be richer for it.

Her obsession with little boys and men in underwear in this song is a little unsettling. =/
Great song, and while I love the dark feel to it, it's not as emotional as I expected such a heartfelt song to be. It's like she's trying to show off men with hot bods, and a bunch of children for some reason. I like the house's use as a metaphor, but really, the teens in football gear? Fantasizing and spacing out when a little boy shakes your hand? It's a shallow and creepy addition in my opinion.

I've always loved her voice, that smoky rasp is sexy as hell. That said, I've never understood this freaking video since the first time I saw it on MTV. Someone went all artsy, and I think they had too much coke while shooting.
