I remember several years ago watching a program on this subject, in which the reporter went undercover as the buyer of a large quantity of counterfeit meds and negotiated with a Chinese woman (whose name I used to remember... like Candy something) and that was the first I heard of this problem. But now it has become a truly huge concern.

PUBLIC AWARENESS: BEWARE FAKES.
There is a lot more that the likes of Ebay/Google could be doing to support the whistleblowing process and the fight against sellers of counterfeit goods.
The reporting hotline for the country could be hosted directly and obvious in the main web search page, the main shopping search page, and again in the search results pages. The same for the warning messages “BEWARE FAKES” “REPORT FAKES” and a "Watch this clip before you buy!" video clip embedded alongside.

Such videos indicate the money minting is going on not only by giant pharmaceuticals by launching expensive drugs but other people are also following them by putting poor patients at risk
