  • ME GUSTA JORDAN

  • Dude, you've got me hooked for 2 hours now (it's 2.40 am)!

2 hours earlier I didn't know one word Spanish, let alone how to pronounce Spanish words. Now I feel as though I've got a pretty solid foundation already. I know, that's all an illusion, but still. I love how you keep expanding my knowledge with every vid, I can follow.

Plus, I love Youtube, cos this makes it a thousand times better than learning from dull books.

  • muchas gracias jordan! a mi me gusta mucho.

  • i wish u did a vid a video on me encanta... which i think means i love...

    ¡ME ENCANTA estudiar español!

  • ME GUSTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUCHO

  • Thank dude... You explain this so well. My teacher must give you credit as to COSTAATT!!!

  • ME GUSTA

  • A mi me gusta tontitofrito

  • so i want to just make it clear to myself tambien is for a positive answer and tampoco is for a negative anser.Thank you so much Adios =D

  • You are a great teacher. <if <i can fix a little, the right way is "Soy EL señor Jordan...."...Greetings from Argentina.

  • Muchos gracias senor! It helps me to study because this is exactly what I'm learing for my spanish 1 class (=

  • @HHaircare Que te gusta hacer? Formal: Me gusta ir al cine e ir al parque, etc.

informal: Ir al cine y al parque!

  • Who wants to practice spanish? I can help i am a native person, reply if interested!

  • Dude r u a teacher in a school or somethin? your good.

  • your lessons are very good, visuals and explanations, i have a questions is there a difference between the spanish used in spain and the spanish used in latin america?

  • @jimm17

There will be some differences between countries (and even in the countries). When we say "Latin American" Spanish, there are a LOT of differences even in there. If you look at the map and look at how many countries Latin America consists of... In Spain, people also speak differently in the south from the north. Any Spanish you learn can be useful, but it'll be a starting point for learning more and learning how someone else says something. I hope that answers your question. ;-)

  • it does, i learned french, i figured since i watch soccer all the time in spanish i should learn some, some of it is close to french, it will take time but i think i can learn spanish

  • @tontitofrito i noticed that when i try to fast foreward or rewind your videos, the audio doesnt play! :/

it only seems to happen with your vidoes and not others on youtube. which is quite annoying since im trying to rewind for practice >.<

anyways, i thought id let you know incase this is happening to some other viewers aswell.

thanks for the spanish help! its great

  • no me gusta nada, can it be used on its own to describe a situation? i.e. my foot ball team just lost, can i say "!no me gusta nada!", thanks

  • creo que decir "tampoco no me gusta" es un pleonasmo

es como decir "subir arriba" o "bajar abajo"

  • @Dementcha

pero no dije 'tampoco no me gusta'... sino 'no me gusta tampoco'

a lo mejor la gente suele decir 'tampoco me gusta' más

  • ¡Otra vez lo hiciste bien! Sus lecciones sirven perfectamente para reforzar el enseñamiento durante la semana de las clases que enseño yo el lunes. Muchisimas gracias.

  • he's cute in a weird way...

  • I can't believe I've been learning spanish for 5 years and no one ever explained what "ni" meant before. I'll certainly be able to make use of también and tampoco. One scenario where I hear this a lot is in supermarkets. The staff are now being trained to be more polite, so where historically they would respond to "gracias" with "de nada" this is considered a little impolite, so instead they will often reply "y tu también".

  • EN MIS TIEMPOS LIBRES PUEDO ENSENARLES ESPANOL , GRATIS. ESTOY EN FACEBOOK, YASMIN BALLADARES. GRACIAS.

  • Your lessons are fantastic!! keep up the good work

  • Your videos are fantistico! Learning Spanish has been a lifetime goal. Rosetta Stone seems to work for pronunciation, but did you use Rosetta Stone to help learn to speak Spanish? Gracias

  • @athena1976 Hola.

Excuse the mistakes and will continue to learn from you and the locals.

  • @HHaircare You just can answer IR AL CINE, or another verb referring to an activity... It's the short answer...

You can also answer ME GUSTA IR AL CINE, it's the long answer... But they both are correct, just use the one which you feel comfortable... GOOD LUCK :)

  • @HHaircare

Seems fine to me. You don't have to say the complete phrase if someone asks you the question. It makes sense to answer in that case with "ir al cine" or "practicar deportes" etc

  • hola jordan. Is it possible to use 'ni' on its own. example: me gusta nada ____ ni _____

  • @sammysnakejones

Creo que sí. (I think so)

  • @tontitofrito tienes buen acento ami me gusta hablar español but i like speak english

  • @chocul7 "i like to speak english" *

you left out the "to" :P

  • @thethreeamazingmen Y ¿te gusta el español? a mi me gusta el ingles,a veces no le entinedo mucho pero hago mi mayor esfuerzo XD

  • @chocul7 si, me gusta el español !! pero soy eres un principiante y mi español es pobre =/

your english is good :) muy bien!

i will be travelling to central America soon, so i need alot of practice :) ¿De dónde eres? ¿España?

  • @thethreeamazingmen Tranquilo tambien eres bueno hablando español

    you go to mexico,belize,guatemala,etc.?

Seria muy bueno que practiques, creo que en los idiomas lo que mas cuesta trabajo es el acento

    and you're from united states?

  • @thethreeamazingmen Yo te puedo ayudar con cualquier pregunta que tengas sobre el español si Tontitofrito no puede responder tus preguntas por cuestiones de trabajo y tiempo

  • @chocul7 gracias :)

Guatemala Honduras y Nicaragua para enseñar a los niños

    si, es dificiles

no, soy Irelandes :) y tú?

    Gracias :)

Te puedo enseñar inglés? y se puede enseñar español??

i can help you learn english and you can help me learn spanish?? via msn/messenger/ skype? if you had the time.

I can send you my email address

thats if you wanted help with english? :)

  • @thethreeamazingmen Ireland it's a country interesting

    i'm mexican

Yo te enseño español y tu me ayudas con el ingles

I send you my e-mail address but in a message

    i see you later

  • @sammysnakejones It's not correct, use "ni" after "no" or just another "ni" For example: NO bailo NI juego - NI como NI bebo

  • it was great again, gracias!

  • Note that not all the words in parentheses are the actuall translation of the word in "bold". Nada = nothing. But in that sentence the translation would be to "at all", their just to help understand what it would be in english.

  • Hey. how comes you don't say "Tampoco NO me gusta..." instead of "Tampoco me gusta", I thought it was a negative term?

  • either works... 'no me gusta tampoco' or 'tampoco me gusta'... when it goes before the verb, it takes the place of the 'no'... when it goes after the verb, you need a 'no' plus 'tampoco'

  • @tontitofrito "...no me gusta tampoco" is incorrect. At least when you hear that it sounds wrong. I'm not sure it's accpted, but just to be sure just say "...tampoco me gusta". What you can say is "No, (a mí) tampoco me gusta (whatever)".

  • @tontitofrito thankyou!!

  • thank you very much!! The lessons are very helpful. greetings from Hungary :)

  • very clear, nice work

  • ¿Qué me gusta hacer? :D Si me gusta ir al Cine, No me gusta el español ¬¬ Tampoco me gusta hablar ingles pero tengo que aprender (: ¬¬ No se que hago aqui S:

  • @Donovanjimez no se meta aqui

  • Could you also say 'yo también' for 'me too'?

  • Not for 'me gusta'... because it literally means 'it's pleasing to me'

So you need to say: 'to me too' that is 'to me it is pleasing too' --> a mí también

  • hi guys my name is carlos and i'm lerning english right now, and i speak spanish as mother language, so guys we can make a deal if you want we can talk and i mean you can teach me some english and i can teach you spanish or at least we can be just talking to practice and become better, so if one of you guys is interested just send me a message to my channel :D

  • Hey, first of all i'm really impressed with your lessons, thanks to you I will be able to have a conversation in Spanish when I go traveling! Second, is it okay to omit the first 'ni' in 'No me gusta ni trabajar ni bailar', or do you need both in there? Thanks

  • @olow002 it's okay to omit it, You can say No me gusta trabajar ni bailar ;) cheers

  • what the difference between " y tu" and "y a ti" ?

  • "y tú" --> and you... (for most cases we'll use this...

"y a ti" --> and [to] you / and [for] you... we'll use this in other cases like with the verb gustar...

  • tontitofrito, you are an angel for teaching spanish phrases for everyone.

  • ¡Está genial! Muy bien. :) ¡Incluso he aprendido un poco de inglés! Por ejemplo: No me gusta nada -> I don't like it AT ALL, no lo sabía. Gracias. :)

  • Comment removed

  • you seem like a pretty good teacher. thanks!

  • Guys don't forget 5 STARS! It is my way of saying a 'Thank you'!

  • @SKTPSY * * * * * ;)

  • I feel confident I can understand and even start speaking in few months or could be days. I am a complete beginner. I started yesterday only but I find easier to pronounce because I am from Nepal.

  • Well I have to say, out of all of the videos, all of the memorization, vocab, classes that I have taken, yours seems to make the most sense. I just love all of your videos, I'm on my 12th video today and I may get a brain overload, but if I forget, I will just re-watch them. Love the visual aids that you use. So helpful because if I don't know what the word pronounced is, I can simply read the pronunciation on the screen. Awesoe job on your videos.

  • honestly u are better then our uni lessons.... the teach it in such a shit way.. muchas gracias.. me gustar estudiar espanol!

  • How do they teach it that it doesn't help you as much? (Please let me know so I know how not to teach!)

  • @tontitofrito

I don't know about the original poster, but my professor goes through things (such as pronunciation) once and then moves on, does not explain new words in a sentence, expecting everyone to figure out their meaning based on use (sometimes possible, sometimes not) or gives new words in a list (such as items in a room) without applying those words to a use (ie. we know la puerta, but have yet to be taught cerrar la puerta).

  • What's the pronunciation difference between pero as in but and perro as in dog, just the tongue roll? Does the e sound get longer as well? is the r in pero rolled, in the sense, does your tongue touch the top of your mouth? (as you know when you use an English R your tongue doesn't touch the top of your mouth)

  • the R in Spanish is a flap of the tongue which hits the top of the mouth. So 'pero' would have one flap. The 'RR' (or 'R' at the beginning of a word' will flap more. Thus, 'perro' would be more flaps.

The vowel sound doesn't change, just the consonant.

  • Great, thanks! :)

  • @tontitofrito I am not able to roll my R's the way they are supposed to be rolled. I have seen people use their tongue for this, but I can't make mine move that way. I can make a similar sound by pushing air up my throat into the higher part, and rattling my uvula.

  • @LocustCloacina I can't do it either!!

  • This is very helpful, thank you!!

  • This was helpful. Estoy un principiante en español. I have listened to a few tapes and stuff and try to watch spanish speaking television. So thank you.

  • son buenas lecciones y él las explica bien ya que nuestro idioma español es algo complejo, y tiene diferencias con ciertas reglas del ingles

  • Hi, my first language is Spanish and I just thought I could comment on one thing. I think I've always heard people say " Soy EL señor ..." I hope you find this helpful.

I like your lessons very much. Keep them coming! :)

  • que buen maestro de español, por lo que veo en el video no te gusta hacer muchas cosas =]

  • great videos, keep them coming. It makes learning spanish so much fun!!

  • your a better teacher than my own teacher, haha, gracias :]

this'll be helpful for my spanish exam.

  • thanks...:)

  • question....how do u know when to use y tu? and y a ti?is it formal and informal?

  • These are both informal...

"¿y tú?" will be used with most verbs...

"¿y a ti?" with gustar because it's a weird verb...

To be more formal we'll use the following:

    w/ gustar: "¿y a usted?"

    most other verbs "¿y usted?"

  • dónde aprendiste español?

  • Pues, por aquí. ¿y tú?

  • Hablas muy bien español :).

  • Excellent lessons, I'm going to go through all of them. Thank you for posting.

  • hi, thank you so much for the videos. i'm just a beginner and these videos helped me a lot in learning spanish step by step. keep it up ^__^ God bless

  • your vids are simply great! thanks a lot!

  • i notice that d verb following gusta is not conjugated is that always d case. cuz lets say im talkin about a noun what wud i say ex. i like cake is "me gusta la torta" correct???

  • (Noun after) 'I like soccer' --> Me gusta el fútbol. (verb after) 'I like to play soccer' --> Me gusta jugar al fútbol. You're right. If the verb is RIGHT after 'me gusta' you won't change it. Más ejemplos: Me gusta comer. Me gusta correr. Me gusta hablar por teléfono. No me gusta trabajar. No me gusta ir a la escuela.
  • gracias !

  • is it correct to say 'Me gusta tambien!'?
