I had a Sinner & Saint cassette I got while in the Army stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany around 75-76. They don't show it on his website. Must have been a limited run. Wish I still had it.
Check out Joe Bonnamassa playing Rory's guitar in October of this year while in London.
Personally i think "Deuce" was 50 yrs ahead of time...i 1st heard the album when i was 16 yrs old (in 1971) and to this day the energy, studio echo and rawness leaves me chilled to the bone. Can even hear the bingo caller in the background on certain tracks. Got to meet Rory briefly a couple of times in 1972..what a unique gentleman.
There is an old story about Jimi Hendrix being asked by an interviewer after Woodstock what it was like to be the greatest guitar player in the world. Hendrix replied that he did not know then added "Go ask Rory Gallagher"... =O)
some nice pics of one of my favorite players back in the day. i was able to catch rory a few times in the states touring his solo stuff after taste. great memories indeed ! thanks.
I remember singing along with this in Connemara in the early 70s, still love it today. Rory had such a sense of melody, which combined with his unsurpassed energetic rock, took his music to a plateau of his own.
imagine you're 17....hearing all kinds of commercial catchy tunes on the radio.....lots of crap looking back...then suddenly you pick up accidentally the bbc in concert rory gallagher 71...and you are stunnedand exhilarated by crest of a wave bottlenck solo ripping your little radio apart. luckily i recorded it immediately.i was totally hooked and happy! (check out the bbc in concerts...some of his best stuff)
Good for you, your unfortunately rare on YT, check out the "best guitarist " vids, they argue who's best, a guy with a fried chicken bucket on his head vs. guys who play as fast as possible with absolutely no feeling, soul, or TASTE.
You got that right. I agree "bucket head" can shred, with his ten inch fingers, BUT, there is no soul in his music. many of the so called "best"guitarists on the youtube lists are not qualified to be Rory's guitar technician.
i used to tear up the highway while playin this in the car! Just floor the bitch! haha (the car that is)Rory is the best. Ever. tks for posting. 5*****

Saw him in the 80s in Duesseldorf, Germany. Long, very long concert .... passionate ... driven ...

This really is another version of that song than on the LP "Deuce". It's mixed with less effects, the guitar solo of Rory sounds more natural.
Can remember quite good when we saw him live at Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1977...That guy shall never be forgotten!

Right, Soul, Feeling, Heart, Rory had them in Spades, and he will outlive them all in future musical history.
