If only Thunder had the right background as a youngster, and then get a good trainer in America, he would've been a more competitive fighter. His Samoan mentality tells him to just throw power punches; that is good, but along with more skills, he would've been a superb fighter.
@theephraimite I definitely agree with a 100%. This kid could've been a strong contender for the heavyweight belt, if he was properly trained and disciplined in his craft. Imagine the outcome of the heavyweight arena if this kid was properly motivated to be the best. With all respect to David Tua, I think Thunder would've given Lennox a much harder, and probably gain the title, if they've met head on. But we'll never know. Good luck Thunder.
@buffet62 I also think Thunder could have been a better fighter than Tua, mainly because he has the reach and height. But the way he fights in this video, Tua would do him a lot of damage. The trainers should have trained Thunder to throw straight punches, instead of throwing many looping shots which works better for short fighters that are built like Tua. Anyway, Tua and Thunder are from the same district of A'ana in Independent Samoa, the other half of my heritage, and I'm proud of them.
