OH MY GOD, I dont understand why people sit there and flood their engines... my mother almost did the same thing when I was riding with her, she drove through a pool of water (not nearly as bad as this one) and the engine stalled. She nearly tried starting it right there before I gasped and screamed at her! hahaha getting help to push it out was fun :) (an old corolla, pretty light thank goodness)

gotta love when people dont know what HYDROLOCKING is...for those of you who dont know...hydrolocking is when water is sucked into the air intake and floods the piston chambers and locks the motor in place... hydro (water) locking (locking)...same principal as a person drowning, engine needs air to ignite fuel, heart needs air for blood, fill either of those with water they cease to live...but like some people, some cars can be resurected after hydrolocking

Trying to start your engine after it stalls in water will not damage your engine - it is already hydrolocked. Steps to rejuvinate:

1) allow the car to dry (wait for flood to subside)

2) disconnect battery

3) remove all spark pulgs

4) rotate by hand untill all cylinders have pushed out the water inside

Attempting to start a car that stalled in deep water will net you one of two things:

1) nothing, your engine is hydrolocked, so it will not turn over

2) damaged electrical system
