Are you guys fucking kidding me? Biedermann was like 1 second slower than the world record time during the first 300 meters, and even at the 350 meter mark he was like 0.9 secs slower. I dont believe that he has a better stamina and technique that Thorpe had, so im totally sure that his incredible finish was totally because of his lazer suit.
@beiliveme1 During th wr race, thorpe lost 1 sec at the last 50m to his precious wr, so it was about the same finisch as Thorpe during his pre-wr wr... thats not due to the suit
biedermann is an amazing swimmer, but I think his suit DID help him to break this world record...... but all the swimmers had the same suit so he won fairly
Guys just wait till the next FINA world championships or London 2012 when they wont be able to use these suits. Then it will be a true test to see how much the suit played a part in this race because it's inevitable that it helped him its just by how much is the question.

@CHELSEA9636 he can say it was an excellent swim. forget about the suit, his form and the way he paced that was superb. i mean did you see how much energy he looked like he had at the end and how he left everyone? im no fan of biedermann, and while i believe this world record should still be help by thorpe, the swim was good. wow, some people dont realise the difference between these suits. thorpes was a basic bodysuit, whereas the LZRs such as this are completely different with so much more technology in them. at beijing 23 out of the possible 25 world records were broken with this.... soooooo there is a gigantic difference.. and a huge advantage to people like biedermann

@TheBradleyC4 ian thorpe made 3:46 in 400 when he was 15yo, with no suits. he is a monster of swimming. his suit was not made of modern polymers. and what's that of 2009? thorpe hasnt been racing for long i guess 2005 or 2006.
@EscarneoExquisito nah i meant like an Arena x glide. thorpe wore a full body suit don't get me wrong, but it was an Adidas suit and i doubt it was very high quality.
@stuflikethis thorpe's addias suit wasn't made of the same material, biedermann's arena x-glide was made of a type of matieral that helped your body float which made it unfair while thorpe's addidas suit didn't do any of that

@littlezdawg2012 i don,t think this way. i think 400 meters free style today don,t have a good level like 5, 7 or 10 years ago... the time means nothing because these suits were incredible. biderman 2009 3:40:07... biderman 2010 without this suit 3:48:8 (almost 9 seconds more !!!! = about 16 meters less...

Paul Biedermann rocked that WC. He crushed Phelps in the 200m finals, and Phelps had the same "magic" suit.

wow, some people dont realise the difference between these suits. thorpes was a basic bodysuit, whereas the LZRs such as this are completely different with so much more technology in them. at beijing 23 out of the possible 25 world records were broken with this.... soooooo there is a gigantic difference.. and a huge advantage to people like biedermann
