Great video and insight. I have a lot of Korean friends, so I wouldn't mind going to Korea to visit, but this is good insight for those who would go solely for the money. Better to find out the details before you get locked into a contract.
of course, english teachers COULD make allot of money if they worked their asses off. I have 2 friends who havev manage to get 4 or 5 group classes who pay 20 bucks per person making it add up to 100 bucks and hour... BUT to organize such things take ALLOT of time and effort that most people are unwilling to do... including me.
I agree with what your saying that people would be dumb enough to believe that if they were to live in Korea that they would make it rich by becoming a teacher. But the reason why they make so much money is that they make education interesting. The student in the middle of the video stated that the teacher has nicknames like the god of math and the savior of mass drop outs. Again these teachers are truly the best at what they do if they have a huge following, and are considered celebrities.
I agree! I worked with a "famous" teacher like that in Korea years ago. He was REALLY good and treated almost like a celebrity! Those teachers are not so common though.
thats true... I was looking at the monthly salary of an english teacher in japan, it is not that much. I think teachers need to do part time tutoring in order to be in a good position financially.
he is a Canadian artist. He is a native Canadian who does amazing traditional West Coast native art (British Columbia, Canada). the art style is often referred to as Haida. He is considered one of Canada's most important contemporary artists! His work ROCKS!!!! Thanks for asking....google him!
Thanks for the info. I thought of Googling, but the name is so common I felt pretty sure I'd get about a thousand returns on different Robert Davidsons without more to go on. XD
which school did you teach in korea? if you don't mind how much did they pay you? I am thinking of going to find a recruiter this week.

I think teaching should be the highest paid profession in the world! Think about it, we are the most important people in the world! Right!?
