  • who knew that proper British women in the 30's had any kind of ass

  • putting brazilian with the japanese word "jui-jitsu" is a misnomer at best...fess up: it is all from Japan!

  • not only is it risky grappling with your oponent, but you don't know if they have a knife or needle on them, that they'l use when they get the chance on the ground. the police in my city are very cautious when dealing with people because they'v had a needle problem. my city is #1 per capita for hiv :) the virus usually dies within 20 min after use in a needle, but that window is still open to many police that go to complaints bout junkies "just" shooting up. don't grapple. just strike.

  • well that's what tazers were invented for. :)

  • Fake and gay!

  • @darknavar it´s a demonstration asshole, i hope you are trolling because if you really think this is fake and gay you know nothing about martial arts.

  • @jorgebeltran lol man calm down ive done martial arts since i was 7 and i was messing around no need to be a jerk ok

  • @darknavar Lol, sry it is just that they are REAL assholes that do that kind of shit in these videos.

  • @jorgebeltran yea i know and it pisses me off to man

  • that last pose she took was rather ravishing and might i ad slight arousing if i enquire my self

  • LOL. She said "throw your VICTIM to the ground"

  • Sooo badass! Good to see jits in black and white haha.

  • at 0:26 if she reaches between the guys arms she can pull her fist up and catch the guys chin with her elbow

  • @mrJbirdjojo yep. Or just thrust her elbow in the guys chest too. You're smart.

  • Thank God for gis.

  • @strumminronin I normally would agree, but I kind of like what she is wearing lol.

  • Agreed that you don't want to spend an extended amount of time on the ground, but think about it for a minute; there are about 7 MILLION BJJ practioners in Brazil ALONE! So, don't you think that SOME of them have been in street fights? And perhaps, even against more than one foe?? Not saying it's smart to go straight to the ground, just saying that it's a lot more effective than peeps give it credit for on the street. In my opinion of course

  • @GJJFan Groundwork, Stand Up, Catch Wrestling skills are al simply just facets of what details you need to have to hand to be an effective fighter. As you say - pretty sure some fights have gone to the ground... and without knowing what to do once there - yeah pretty much a FUBAR in any language.

some stand up only schools think groundwork is silly and pointless... you can kick to keep distance and all that....

Yet no-one can answer the question 'what if you fall?'

So yeah - with you on that

  • @GJJFan word

  • this is some of the worst technique and ukemi i've seen in my life.

  • @theirresistableE i train the japanese ju-jujitsu and yes those techniques are horribly done!

  • Mrs Chumley-Warner does martial arts.

  • I would like to bang that chick! Too bad she's dead!

  • @gahen21 Why should that get in the way?

  • @gahen21 It's never too late.

  • she is so wrong you go against the thumb not the whole hand @1:10 if your attackers is stronger than you that will not work.

  • Well she's dead now so don't worry about it.

  • @1t1o1m1m1i1e nope ur wrong, try the tech the way she instructs and it will work fine. Its not about the centerline of the palm to thumb but more on the opening of the attackers palm from the movement down and then out that helps free u.

  • very cool video , francokrav

  • what so brillant she becomes the fall guy

you never get this in todyas martail arts

  • wow get over yourselves people it's just a really cool post ! this chick is so way ahead of her time.

  • how do people become ahead of their time? that always puzzles me. What do they see that the rest of us can't?

  • It is kote gaeshi....

  • OUCH !!!!!

  • Nice ass @ 1:45

  • ball of shit, she does it with hand power ant it not right, do with body

  • Modern self defense strategies are not really the point of the clip.

  • Looks like a young queen mum practicing on prince Philip.

If you marry my daughter you scoundrel, behave or I'll let you have it.

  • that last maneuver is on my must try list.

  • Good This thing is old yet is very good, that means that this are the traditional techniques XD very good video, i wonder if my granpa sall it XD.

  • forget BJJ, she'd be great for 'BJ'!

  • Thats a great performence of real classical Ju-Jitsu, the way it should be.

  • Now listen closely, chaps! The sun never sets on our British Empire, and these skills will help you defend her!

Chop chop then! Get to it! Bully!

  • What's with these style vs style debates?

Any fight is between two people, not two styles.

  • exactly....

Bruce Lee said "there is no best martial art, only better martial artist."

  • She looks like the great ancestor of Lara Croft! Looking at her well-toned physique i'd say she did a lot of jiujitsu and drills

  • Dorothy Darke, the lady instructor in this film married a great grand uncle of mine back in the mid to late 1920s. Wonder what happened to her. She was not looked upon well by the family.

  • The next time some idiot is intent on beating me by holding on to my wrist I'll listen, but so long as the fact remains that fighting involves getting struck and striking back i will assure you that woman will never be on equal footing, nor a fast and or strongman against a weak one.

  • If you watch some of the other movies, these self defense movies are intended for when a woman is being grabbed - i.e. having her purse stolen, having someone grab her to try to kiss her, having someone grab her to try to drag her off. Men don't have to worry about that so much and it's not an attempt on the assailant's part to get into a fight, it's an attempt to overpower the woman to do her harm.

  • I understand, but the way they promote this osrt of thing is silly.

  • lol you just dissed wing chun which is reknown as one of the best man technique martial arts in the world. developed by a woman. lol

  • LOL, wing chun is among the many styles beat by gracie jujitsu in its old videos. And pure wrestling gave jujitsu fits at that time- infact, a pure wrestler took 4hrs to be defeated, and he didn't know what to do against jujitsu. Also, I have failed to see any real reports on its effectiveness.

  • "best man technique martial arts in the world"

Video of resisting opponent getting out gunned by the chun now please...

  • where does he find those old jujitsu videos ? Pretty cool though

  • This guys are inventing in the moment. They don't now how to fall (Uemi Waza).

  • 5 stars!

  • ok is this an istrution video or a porno how short is her skirt

  • hahaha i was thinkin the exact same thing

  • not as good as the other reels.

  • You should probably hit the guy instead of just breaking out of his grip.

  • lol some of the techniques are crap, eg' the rear strangle defence - better to elbow the other person in stomach several times

  • more like aikido to me

  • El Aikido viene del Jiu Jitsu, salvo que en el jiu jitsu hay golpes.

  • Yes you should piss on the source of BJJ to prove it's better then jujitsu. BTW how many BJJ fighters are in the top UFC now ( remember the Gracies started it)?

  • umm... GSP, Matt Serra, Couture has good JiuJitsu, Hughes has good JiuJitsu, Anderson Silva has good JiuJitsu..

  • Couture is a Greco-roman wrestler

  • but he has trained in BJJ and hes very good at it

  • BJJ is good in a ring, but not on the streets where it's highly likely you'll get attacked by more than one asshole. I don't mean to disrespect it, but I'd rather not be laying on the ground with my legs wrapped around my attacker.

  • PLUS BJJ is useless it has one huge weakness fishhooking =p. when he gets that close to you just grab his nuts or gouge his eyes =p done!

  • Grabbing the nuts is much more effective as eye gouging is not nearly as easy as you'd think

  • Hitting is easier than grabbing, youd have to reach in the dudes pants and while this has been done in NHB, I doubt its easy. Of course, once the submission in there it would hurt like hell, but you could get out of it by headbutting your opponent I guess. Honestly, I would as a rule stick to keeping distance from you opponent.

  • nah i think it would be pretty easy especially in the mount position in bjj. since i cant punch them you just poke um.

  • @DEdge1221 this is traditional self defence not bjj the traditional is 150% more effective on the street and doesnt make you fall to the ground with throws wrist locks shoulder locks strikes and pressurepoints

  • @DEdge1221 shes using ju jitsu which is japenese jiu jitsu which has standing self defense techniques like eye gouging neck snaping and arm breaks along with knee breaks all of which bjj doesnt have

  • @THEPIELORD42 I am assuming you've never trained BJJ?? Because there are a LOT of standing techniques, like arm breaks(one of Helio's favorite is a standing arm break if someone grabs you from the front), eye attacks (really though, ANYbody can just poke an eye LOL but yes, techniques to strike as well) and knee bars and knee breaks from when you are grabbed from behind as well. So, it DOES have standing techniques. It's just that most people only see the ground portion in MMA, but it's there.

  • @GJJFan i only meant japanese jujitsu is strongest standing up bjj is strongest on the ground

  • @THEPIELORD42 Got it. And agreed. :-) I also trained some JJJ and it is truly an art of beauty to watch!

  • @GJJFan what is JJJ?

  • @kevinchris Japense Jujutsu/Jiu-Jitsu

  • @GJJFan Eye attacks?? What BJJ club do you train at lol.

  • @kevinchris I've trained at a few. And apparently some that cared about self defense, and not just MMA/Sport style. Why should it matter? Just the fact that I HAVE done more than just BJJ. BUT, ANY style should try to be as rounded as possible. Why do you laugh at that? Attacks to the eyes can be great distractions, impairments and "time buyers" for you to protect yourself. They can be quite effective, even if the opportunity to do so may not present itself as easily as a lick to the leg, etc

  • @GJJFan I've just never trained at a BJJ club, or any club, that taught people eye attacks. But then again, I havn't trained in karate or anything like that since i was a little kid.

  • @kevinchris I can totally understand that. SO many have gone to the sportive aspect of the arts. Even MMA/Cage Fighting is STILL a sport style. Even IF it is a bit more of a realistic "sportive" style for self defense and ring savvy. It is troubling how many focus on producing "Modern Gladiators" for the MMA/Fight Scene, instead of training EVERYDAY people to learn how to survivie an unguarded, noone else around to help or stop it, kind of situation. I'm one for self defense FIRST, sport second

  • @DEdge1221 -- A good spooning before a can kicking is thoughtful and pleasant, hahahahahahaha.

  • @DEdge1221 Um dude this is Ju-Jitsu not BJJ, im sorry but you got it all wrong, Traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu is about 50-50 in stand-up against ground.

  • @TrueMartialArts I think you are probably right, but what makes you say its ju-jits and not jiu-jits (BJJ)?

  • @TrueMartialArts I am completely aware of the fact. I never said this was BJJ. I can tell the difference.

  • @DEdge1221 True. But the more BJJ you know, the better you will be at fighting, regardless if its in a ring, on the mat , or the street. If you use the apropriate BJJ techniques in a street fight correctly, it is more than enough to win. Of course a good old punch to the face is never a bad idea either.

  • @DEdge1221 just throw flying armbars all over the places as fastes you can and you will be good xD (dont hate me i'm just making fun) ^^

  • @DEdge1221 yes in a real fight , more people may come at you , better run

  • @DEdge1221 yeah i use my jiu jitsu if it is one asshole, if it is 2 or more i either try to run. if i cant run then i just punch the mouth or nose

  • @DEdge1221 You have no clue what yor talking about. If your in a street fight and attacked by multiple opponents and you get knocked down and you cant escape fast your screwed. BJJ shows you how to escape. BTW you dont always go to the ground when your choking someone. But if your fighting too many guys unless your a huge guy, then no matter what art you know your screwed anyways.

  • @xmanrules2001 That's why it's always good to have one of these watch?v=4DzcOCyHDqc

  • @DEdge1221 Well, this is japanesse jiujitsu. And the leg technique is not the only thing used in BJJ. You can use some others.

  • @DEdge1221 I'll say the same thing I always say. BJJ is not about pulling guard in EVERY situation. In the scenario you described, I would use my BJJ to keep the other guy from taking me down. Knowing BJJ helps you control the position of the fight. If you don't want to go to the ground, you should learn BJJ, wrestling, Judo, or all. It will help. And in the worst case scenario you can get back to your feet, or reverse the situation. Knowing grappling gives you more options, in every situation.

  • DUde, its the 1930's...You think Jujitsu is where it was today? Japanese rarely taught Americans how to use it in a realistic situation. Chin Na/JuJitsu are just sets of techniques, how you apply it in real life is up to you.

  • For a lady, you should just run away. If ever you were grabbed, with a talon's grip, you should pull away WHILE kicking his groin.

  • cute outfit!

  • jiu jitsu is bullshit in my opinion. not BJJ but the traditional. an attacker wont just stand there and let the defender do those fancy techniques.

but its better than nothing i quess

  • ^^ is bullshit

  • i agree, jiu jitsu IS bullshit

  • Martialartslover doesn't know a thing about martial arts nor traditional jiu jitsu... You haven't seen a real jiu jitsu fight yet.

  • then show me. because this video is 100% pure concentrated BULLSHIT

  • you should check out sport jujitsu, not alot of standing still and a hell of a lot better than nothing

  • wow!! thx for posting this.
