will the assignable GEQ work on the aux busses for the 16.0.2 as well? why is this function available as a hardware feature only on the studiolive 24?
Wow. This is a much more elegant solution for individual aux mixes than an Aviom system, and for about the same price you're getting a much more versatile system: Aviom is limited to 16 channels. Aviom personal mixers are $600+ each right now, compared to $500 for the base model iPad. (And, it's an iPad. You can do a few other things with it!) The Aviom input module is around $1200, which is cheaper than a StudioLive, but the SL is MUCH more versatile. Aviom's big advantage: the digital snake.
Nothing happens to the faders on the mixer itself. It will jump to whatever position (physical) it's in when you start to move it. You don't need much of a PC. Almost any puter with Wi-Fi that will let you set up a peer to peer network will do. Even adding say a Mac Mini, barely bigger than a power supply is still way economical for the coolness It saved me LOADS of time probably 40 minutes of set up Wednesday not needing a snake. 3 of the band members had iPads too, but they didn't have the app
I'm confused...in the first video that I saw for the StudioLive boards, they showed an iPhone controlling one of the mixers. They didn't mention ANYTHING about having to have a PC hooked up to it to make that happen. I was hoping that an iPad would work for this as well. In addition I've been planning to sell my Allen & Heath board to purchase one of these boards as it negates the need for a SNAKE and FOH position (which takes up venue floor or dance space). BUT...f you need to have a PC too?
@remmurd97 Nothing, when you get back to the mixer, you can press the "Locate Faders" button and the meters will show you where the new fader location should be.
this could start at 0:20 hate those shitty intro songs.

Multiple iPads controlling 1 desk, this just further adds to my theory of replacing sheet music with iPads at our church :D

So does this also work with two linked 16 channel mixers?
kdolbear 10 months ago
@kdolbear You can connect two mixers however you have to connect to one mixer at a time, just like in VSL.
