Sorry for the double post but I wanted to add that, the thing about free to play rift is I wonder if I need a new account to take advantage of it. Cause I enjoyed RIFT but my heart belongs to WoW and I refuse to pay two MMO subscriptions fees at once.

Alan Moore is an amazingly intelligent writer, but he's also a pretentious prick.  Now Dave Gibbons is just as talented in his field but more down to earth. So the fact that he wants nothing to do with it concerns me, but I'm still willing to leaf through them and reserve judgement til I do.

I too miss DDR, I'm not sure if the arcade downtown, which is about the only one left in Indy, has a DDR machine or not. I haven't been in there since GenCon.

Years ago I worked at a laser tag arena. A Local Anime shop rented out the store for their customers and one of them brought a DDR mat that was a small piece of dance floor and laser beams to detect the steps. true story.

in highschool we had DDR in our PE class for a semester, we just had rubber mats that had arrows that weren't connected to anything, but there were two metal ones in the front connected to the prejector that two people would battle on and the music was connected to the gymnasium speakers so it was insanely loud, yeah it was AWESOME!

Do they still make Igntion pads?  Damn, I've been out of the DDR community for so long. I think I still have an Red Octane Ignition pad 1.0 down in the basement somewhere... Look into those, they're probably less expensive than a metal pad, and they're easier on your feet.

Subscriptions shouldn't even be in games anymore. Sure back in the day they were needed in games like everquest and ultima online but times have changed. Most of a companies money comes with the purchase of the box. A successful mmo can make back the money it took to make the game in a short amount of time. The extra money can go to making content updates. Subscriptions have no use other than to put money into the companies pockets. ArenaNet does this with GW and they are doing perfecty fine.

i used to get WAY to into DDR and I found out from a friend that you can buy a USB connected DDR mat really cheap (i found one on ebay, but they might have them at stores idk) and play ddr on your laptop using stepmania

Well ToR is still new, MMO's dont go free to play with a lvl cap untill either they are a bit older like WoW when it started doing it, or when they are failing/near death to try to reinvigorate their comunnity, like rift. Theres also the free to play entire version games that just finnaly gave up tryin to get people to pay like LoTRo. Id say give it a few months and ToR will go free to lvl 10 im thinkin lots of play time first 10 lvls and its a turning point for your toon. SWTOR IS AWSOME!!
