Yes, this cat may be in a defensive mood but that doesn't mean he isn't abit scared. My 30 lb cat will KILL a dog if a dog comes in the yard, and yes I've had to dig the holes for such dogs.

I agree that this cat doesn't like what it's seeing, but I disagree that it's just challenging for a fight. The aggressive vocals and posture are clearly defensive. If the cat isn't scared he wouldn't be salivating copiously in the way he's doing. Salivation also happens just before a cat vomits. He's angry because he's frightened.

I watched another video and this is not a laughing matter. The cat is seeing Long John's spirit (search long john up) and the cat says "why i eyes ya" which means why do i see you...and as you can see the cat is not hissing at the other cat, he is pointed the different way. But if they just seen their cat doing this to (usually something as you have said that has scared them) most people not realizing the stress it may put a cat under would think it was funny to hear an animal sound as if it is speaking.
