  • Good thing Eddie's off the sauce. Good God. What a train wreck. :-/

  • this is amazing!

  • That is freaking great dave! Only if Mike was still with you guys it would be perfect 10+!

  • the chorus sounds an octave low or something

  • Sammy would never sound this bad. Dave screwed up the lyrics at times. years have caught up w/ him, but he's trying. I'll give him that.

  • one of the things that i want to do is go to go one of his concerts, and meet eddie, The King!

  • still better than tonnes of today's boring shit.

  • Wished I would have seen em. Hey Dave's been away awhile but sounds good man! It's not like Dave was the best singer ever to grace the stage. But as a front man he was a bad ass mofo! Sang great rock n roll and it's nice to see him give it a go! BUT IF WE'D ONLY HAVE MICHAEL ANTHONY IN THERE!!!

  • Dave couldn't really sing in the first place, so at least he's taking in serious and trying to be good on this past tour. When they recorded the records, he would only sing one line at a time... That's why he could never do it live and then he would just get completely trashed. He seems sober on this tour.

  • dave sounds awesome.

  • Glad I didnt pay money to see this.

  • Smokin`

  • Dave sounded fine when I was there it might be just the shit camera which is disorting Daves vocals.

  • they still fuckin' got it!!!

it's as AWESOME as in 1984!!!!!!!!

  • Was ther at the show....dont recall Dave missing the start of this song, but wow....video dont lie.

  • I think it sounds just as good as if not better than 1984...

  • they should have written first new songs for a new album to back up these

on-going tours...sad to see them trying to bring back that old magic.

    go watch CHICKENFOOT!

  • @enyjuan fag

  • cocaines a hell of a drug. days on the road will get anyone

  • What the hell is this guy!!!???

he sings a litle like the original vocalist of the great VAN HALEN, but, but, he is out of time, I think he can do it a lot better with a litle vocal classes. who wants to teach him!! I am mexican no habla ispañiol, no poder enseñar cantar.

ANY WAYS vAN HALEN HAS BEEN THE BEST EVER ROCK BAND THA I have seen and the most importan THE SOUN THEY GOT IN LIVE CONCERTS IMPECABLE MAESTROS 5 STARS.

  • dave fucking suck on this .. I can't believe how bad he's like a Vegas show singer now

  • "Great Frontman?" Sorry, DLR Right Now he's dancing in just one block.... He almost does not move on this powerful song, maybe he does not have enough to offer... 22 years expecting this! He started outta time singin', so dissapointing.... "and he forget the fu.....'n words"

  • is that Wolfgang adding that lowpitched blurb of a joke for a b.vox haha ... no offense but that wasn't very flattering? more like flattening the lines haha.

I almost wish Chickefoot fall flat on their faces (naw, not really, sorry!) and Mike can end this evil dream. It's far off it seems, but how far off was the return of DLR in 2005.

I think this is one of the worst sounding videos I've heard musicwise from that tour and onwards and it's from 2007. They just were a little rusty?

  • @aNdYmAtTeR yeah even eddie seems a little sloppy on the solo compared to other videos ive seen but man i would die to see Van Halen live, as long as i die after the concert haha

  • Haters in the house down there

  • Dave is terrible. He acts like Frank Sinatra doing a show at a supper club in the Catskills......

  • This is the 2nd show of the tour, and these vids do them no justice, all you bitches that passed up the tour should be ashamed of yourself...

  • You can really hear Ed and Wolf singing the back up's here. They've got to miss Mike's vocals.

They're certainly not the vocal group they once were without him.

  • Go Chickenfoot!!

  • Ive seen them in Chicago they were great!

Eddie still jams and you need to give them some credit, there still around and made $100 million on that tour, not bad for a band that made a come back playing to sold out venues around the globe.

  • Says the one with "Feels So Good" and "Love Walks In" on his page. At least you have Chickenfoot.

  • @almostsaved hahaha kudos for that comeback thats great!

  • @almostsaved This song is in the same category as "Feels So Good". Both have that cool retro eighties synth and a bitchin' solo.

  • @Shadofx Bingo....he sounded like shit..

  • They maybe old but they are still better than 99% of the modern rock acts out there now !

  • dave has rllly got to work on his vocals

  • Should have never left in the first place Dave. Now it's old guys trying to recapture the magic. Sorry- doesn't work for me!

  • ok people they maybe dont souund as great as they did back in the 70s 80s.. but come they got old...( and eddie isnt as sexy as he was ). but they still ROCK THE HOUSE !!!!!!!!! VAN HALEN WILL LIVE ON FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They sounded better in Providence

  • roth is like a younger neil diamond ha ha

  • he cant sing anymore wtf? the vocals sounds like shitttt..

  • Unfortunately i must agree, he sounds a hell of a lot better in studio. Van Halen used to rule, hopefully this isnt permanent.

  • Who plays Keyboards for Van Halen live? For that matter, who plays keyboards for Van Halen in the studio?

  • i think eddie plays it in the studio, im not sure bout live

  • Eddie does all the pian owork, even the jump solo. He first trained classical piano and not guitar. During shows they usually just use recordings

  • The keyboard player (offstage) is a guy named Alan Fitzgerald, also known for being the keyboard player in Night Ranger. He's toured with Van Halen a number of times.

  • I love this song and cannot get it out of my head now!!! I love the drum and the keyboard!

  • "SUCH good photography."

  • A great surprise tune added to the show. DLR did give his all on the vocals. He never was much for a live voice, but he tried his damndest....give him credit!

  • Good version of "I'll Wait". This is how the guitarsolo should be. Good timing and good sound. Thanks, Ed! Three E's :-)

  • wow...remember when david lee roth used to actually MOVE around stage?

    then he turned 70.

  • is that diamond dave with short hair?

  • i remember this when i heard that synth come on i nearly pissed myself... it was that amazing

  • Wow...is that Tony Benett or Wayne Newton?

  • WTF... why is this asshole adlibbing... putting that stupid emphasis on words and sh*t. I can't stand it when artists don't sing the song I have on tape. I didn't pay to come out here and hear you freestyle.

  • i hate when people bitch about them singing different lyrics at shows. its the whole point of a concert, to put on a show and add something new to it. stop fucking crying

  • Diamond Dave just cranks on this one....he's the best....always was, always will be.

  • and now you're here?

  • I'm finally speechless. Don't they have any new songs?

  • Fucking killer guitar solo

  • love the solo from this song!

  • "Sorry but i dont see what wolfie adds. Maybe he keeps ed sober"

    XD thats what i say!

  • DLR disappoints me with how he casually offers a lounge-singer style rendition of his vocal performance. Mike's classic high harmony is sorely missing, too. Can't I get a shimmer of camaraderie of SOME sort between these two? I felt about as cold as their contrasting stage clothes watching this. Eddie's solo seemed too sloppy n nonchalant for me, too. Dang, I really am disappointed here. Kudos to Alex for NOT embellishing, for keeping it like the record.

  • DLR still got the Van Halen point ;) sings perfectly after 24 years !

  • damn not having Mike is so glaring with the missing high harmony. I remember Alex saying that now he can have bass in his monitors. How many years did it take for him to realize that? Sorry but i dont see what wolfie adds. Maybe he keeps ed sober

  • do you tongue kiss your own mom with that mouth of yours? I dont like the way douche lee sings... and I dont do requests from limp wristed losers like yourself lem... so go fist yourelf....and yes.... I mean AGAIN!

  • 25 February 2008 The Arena at Gwinnett (Atlanta, GA) looking forward to it again

  • ...coming from someone who thinks that derka derka derka is still/ever was funny.

  • This tour with David Lee Roth has already grossed more than they did with Sammy Hagar a couple of years ago.

  • David sings from the heart. Listen to him, close your eyes and feel the magic of the Mighty Van Halen. sammy is a good singer..but not in van halen.

Roth will always be the only singer, frontman i'll love in van halen.

    Best frontman ever,best singer!

I hope they are coming to sweden this year so i can feel this magic!

    David,Ed,Alex and Michael.

    The Mighty Van Halen.

    Wolfgang..well he's ok.

  • I saw them in Las Vegas, and I couldn't agree more with you. DLR = Best frontman ever. I think Wolfie adds a little bit of energy and he's ok (I never saw =VH= live before, so I don't know how Michael interacted with the band when DLR was there).

  • This was the 2nd show of the tour, still workin out the kinks, but Badass!!

  • I saw this show. it sounds better in person... Im seeing them again in February... cant wait!

  • sorry to say, but Diamond Dave sounds and acts like one of those old time Vegas performers in this video. Very Sad!

  • Cut him some slack, he's easily in his 50's

  • Mick Jagger and Stephen Tyler can still do it the right way so what happened to VH. Ants

  • WOW !! I love this song, this is a GREAT vid. I saw the show last night (12.22 in oakland) Thanks 4 this vid.

  • OMG i love VH but this is frickin awful

  • Damn right im 15 and these guys truly are my favorite band...me and my dad just got floor seats for the jacksonville, Fl show yesterday morning ....5th row...damn right lol

  • Sounds great

  • Van Halen will play Philips Arena February 10, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. Can't wait

  • They are old, so am I...Saw 'em in '84, '87, '89... Dave's the Himp, Sammy's the Ho. Any true VH fan knows... 1984 came before 5150.

  • Goin to see em in March Roth can stay home for all i care VH is all about Ed.

  • Roth jumped around like that on the 2004 tour with sammy check the footage out on here. The Van halen boys have him on short leash...

  • Yea, and remember how shitty he sounded on that tour? Looks to me like he's trying to focus on his singing in this one

  • definitely the greatest band,

(the slowest pre hagar song ever, no complaints, ditch the sensitive crap i want rock! exactly what roth has and always will deliver)(roth + halen = rock) (halen + hagar = wuss rock)

  • probably one the greatest bands ever, def. my favorite!!!

  • Wonder why VH was not performing on the American Music Awards last night? VERY STRANGE THAT THE BIGGEST BADDEST REUNION TOUR...THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN EITHER DECLINED THE INVITE OR was not INVITED???

  • They still sound great, and Eddie's still The Man on the guitar, but it's pretty hard to get used to the low energy level. I know you can't really expect the same performance from them 20 years on, but with Dave's neat little haircut and evening jacket, it's like Van Halen: The Lounge Act.

    Oh well, I still dig'em.

  • As for Sammy Hagar, I seen him too back in the 80's, His band was called....Sammy Hagar. DLR was, and still is, Van Halen. Sammy was not. In my humble opinion, Sammy and the last lead man that VH had, put together, wouldn't make a pimple on David Lee Roths ass.

  • I have a deep respect for your opinion, but i think there are songs from Hagar's era that should be played on this tour. Depite being featured for ballad songs, Sammy's era contains powerful sons such as Judgement Day, Big Fat Money, Humans Being and the like..

    Best Regasds

  • I seen Van Halen in 1981 and David Lee Roth was high flying, standing on the equipment then jumping and landing on the stage. You can't expect the same thing 26 years later.

Van Halen w/ David Lee Roth were trend setters then and now. Back then they had the hammer down and screaming, now the trend is more laid back on cruise control, and there is nothing wrong with that. I heard them back then and loved their music and I hear them now and still love it.

  • The Jr. HS that I went to in the 70s had these huge boulders in the back of the field that I remember always had VH graffiti on it. I swear, 20 yrs later, I saw that there STILL was new VH graffiti on it! It probably disappeared shortly after that though, but it gives some idea of the carryover.

  • Love Dave and VH together again! How cool to have 3 Van Halens in the band. Somebody clue me in... Did they get pissed at Michael Anthony for accepting the award with Sammy Haggar? What was that all about?

  • the BEST underrated Vah Halen song ever.

  • Also, I believe Eddie still is the greatest.

  • What a freakin' embarassment!!! Talk about a bunch of guys who could no longer give a shit about the music. DLR is an absolute joke!! Shame on Eddie for how he handled things with Sammy and Michael. They would've done much better than with this lineup. Obviously they're still selling out, but it's not about the music. If you want to see a great band that actually gives a shit...see the Foo Fighters!!!

  • Are you fucking kidding me? Every single one of the musicians in Van Halen has more talent in their little finger than the foo fighters combined, especially Eddie.

  • even pudgy lil' wolfgang? I wouldn't go so far as "every single one of the "musicians" since DLR doesn't really qualify as a musician...at least I don't think lounge singers qualify as real "musicians". Eddie was the greatest guitar player at one time...that time being about 20 yrs ago. I'm a Van Halen fan too, I'm just saddened to what they've been reduced to. A washed up band looking to grab a quick buck.

  • relax nick. like I said, I'm a Van Halen fan too, I'm just not drinking the kool-aid this time around.

  • Sorry I freaked, but I love them and I got to see them in Minneapolis and I really wouldn't saw they're washed up. I agree, Wolfie isn't spectacular, and Dave certainly isn't the greatest musician, but he's a great showman. I honestly think they are doing it just to be together once again.

  • Do you know how hurtful that comment is too the tens of thousands of people who lost loved ones to that madman? Think, then speak. Nature gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason. Also, Cubs fans take it hard too!Peace on,,,,,,,,,,,

  • No, tell me...how hurtful is it?? Did you ask them all? Are you the representative for all the victims of Jonestown?? Spare me the political correctness for cryin' out loud!! Jesus Christ (or am I allowed to reference a particular religion on religious figure on here?), It's a blog for a Van Halen concert. By telling someone, "I didn't drink the kool-aid" is neither hurtful or demeaning to anyone. If it is, they need to get a life.

  • You are allowed to grow up, respect your fellow man and be decent. Anything else, outside this invisible shield can get you hurt. I am trying to help your ignorant ass. Outside my remarks you never gave it a thought. Good luck.

  • yeah, ok, thanks. You're right, outside your remarks, I didn't really give a shit, and guess what...I still don't. Don't presume to know me, and what and who I do or don't respect. Worry about yourself. Go have a kool-aid...lol. I hardly think making a reference to an incident that happened that long ago is going to hurt anyone's feelings. So anytime someone "bombs" a test, we should feel bad for the japanese, and not hurt their feelings? Get over yourself!!!

  • Why is "Political correctness" synonymous with "respect" or "growing up??" I'm so tired of people telling me how or what I should or shouldn't say. We have to analyze every little shred of speech nowadays so as to not offend anyone. Ok...if there's anyone on here from Jonestown or related to them...I'M SORRY!!! I'm Really, REALLY sorry!!! There, you feel better now?

  • Thanks for resolving this thought. That is all it was. You need help. Read the posts you made. Deep shit. Yeah, real deep. Sarcasm, in case you are lost again. Peace on,,,,,,,,,,

  • Please get a hobby...the fact that you have time to get on a blog and try to "correct" a "hurtful" comment by someone talking about a VanHalen concert clearly shows that you have too much time on your hands. If you can pick apart something that mundane and trivial, never mind that you and I are the only ones that probably remember where that comment derived from, you really need to get a hobby dude.

  • I have to say VH & FF are both excellent acts especially both Dave's Roth & Grohl

  • this is awful

  • Been watching a lot of VH 2007 tour vids on youtube, and while I gotta say that the band is sounding great, Dave looks and acts like a Vegas lounge act singer. You can get pissed and flame me all you want, but compare this to his VH performances up to 84, and you'll know what I'm talking about.

  • i think he's just more matured. i think it works.

  • You're probably right.

  • Good song. Get to see the show on 11/1.

Would rather here this this than the ultra gay "How Will I Know When It's Love" - and before anyone starts - I am a Sammy fan. This is a cool song though.

  • I guess people were expecting him to jump up in the air with a samurai sword, do the splits and shoot fire out his ass.....

    during a ballad?

    idiots

  • well look at Mick & the Stones, they are still struttin' around & they are older than VH.. DlR just doesn't seem to have hat edge.

i just watched an '88 video "Livin in Paradise" god what a difference in DLR as compared to the same tune he did in 2004 in Tahoe I believe.

  • The key word is BALLAD

  • i'm not just referring to this one tune, i'm seeing this in his "overall" performance..

like i said, go compare the same tune "paradise" the one in 88 vs the one in 2004..it's quite obvious..he's lost it..bigtime

  • um, no- but just standing there in a blazer like he's waiting in line at the DMV for tags is not the answer either.

  • Hey Ya'll, they sold out right?, don't buy a ticket hang out in the parking lot and talk some poor fool down, If you don't beleive me, try it. MA SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE, and WOLF SHOULD BE DEVELPOING!!!! EDDIE IS POSSIBLEY THE BESt MINUS EGO AND LACK OF BAND!! Dave; learn the words OLD MAN!! You can do better!?!!!?

  • As a true as it gets VH fan, I was at this show, How Sad, no matter how tallented EVH is, Let the wolf develp and find his own gig. Sorry, but I'll stand outside In AZ and find tickets up real and close for under $60US. What bullshit!!!! This could have been HUGE, how pitiful, Ed how could you do this!!!!!

  • Say what ya'll want about Dave, He is still a true Heavy Metal MuthaTrucka!!! As Sammy would say; Dig It!! This ain't studio, but Eddie always is!!!! Listen to the 6 strin king!!! Thanks Guitarwannabee for the lesson; Dig Ya Broham!!!

  • I love you Dave, but seriously, lose the lounge singer jackets.

  • dave is living proof that drugs work...live fast, burn out...

  • bad quality..

  • After watching this, all I can say is that I can't wait to see sammy(with michael anthony) in detroit on november 2nd...

  • Yeah. You'll get all the "love" songs you can shake a stick at at that fuckin' show.

  • "That's the one thing that's really kind of sad," Anthony continued. "It would have been cool to get onstage with Dave again, but I'm not going to whine about it, because that's the way it is. " - Mike Anthony 9-04-2007

  • there is always one to put somone down

  • Dave sounds like shit and looks like he could use a walker!

  • HOW OLD IS DAVE NOW? He Looks 65 here

  • He turned 53 last week

  • Saw them last nite in Indy. They were awsome. Eddie is on his game. Go see them ASAP.

  • Dave....why a sport coat man? wTF?

    move around!

  • Cant wait till seattle on dec 3. key arena is small so should be awesome... and to respond to the sammy comment sammy needs to keep his ass in cabo wabo he hasnt had it since montrose....

  • Yeah, 12inches. This clips kinda makes me want to see them. I know they're older and don't have the energy they did in 83ish, but shit...honestly this sounds better than the live stuff I've watched from 80-84. They were too f***ed up to sound good back then. This sounds good. Van Halen with Davild Lee Roth is so much better than the latter stuff. I look at them as a novelty act with great talent. I might pay to see them with Dave. I was too young before.

  • some people just don't understand. when rocknrollers hit it big at an early age most retire later in life due various reasons. one is they don't look or sound the same as when they were young. Dave is the classic example. barely any hair left and what's up with the sport jacket. forget it Dave go back to retirement. Sammy where are you ?

  • douche lee was over in 84 when he thought he was big shit and left vh halen for that "great" solo career... (which really was a bunch of covers of other peoples song---and van halen hits)- the guy is as pathetic as the lemming who put up this crappy video--almostsaved

  • fuck sammy

  • Just saw this show in Toronto. Hands down the greatest rock show I've ever seen.

  • sounds great eddie but dlr, man you losing it!!

  • keep your jacket on and make a nice EXIT!!!

  • The guitar is an EVH charvel reissue

  • Please bring back Sammy. At least he can sing

  • Kansas City here I come!

  • What Guitar is EVH Playing on?

  • take off your jacket and stay a while

  • Dave should have at least given it some effort.

  • SAMS THE MAN!

  • nice vid

  • Check out the Band Pink Cream 69!!!

  • Now i dont expect DLR to move around like he did 25 years ago but damn its almost like he downed 5 Vicodins before he hit the stage here. And his singing is off, even the biggest DLR fan has to admit that. EVH still sounds great though

  • Did you expect him to do a splits jump from the riser during a ballad?

  • not at all. But I remember seeing him perform solo during the DLR/Hagar show and he was much more energetic than this. Look at this footage, he is hardly moving at all in fact he looks downright stiff (arthritis maybe?)

  • well where is the ultimate "frontman" that you lemmings claim douche lee to be?

  • Guess he's playin' casinos and clubs with the bassplayer.

  • oh---and lest I forget--- WHat an "entertainer" douche lee is... what energy... what crowd interaction... what a "frontman"!!! (This is sarcasm for the douch lee lemmings..) The loser is singing badly into a mic while acting like a bump on a log...

  • douche lee sounds like a bad.... very bad.. lounge singer... I think this says everything there is to say about a future van halen record..IT AINT HAPPENING WITH DOUCHE! (Btw..is dave grabbing his ear cause his voice is hurting it ... just like everyone else in attendance?)

  • THIS is the reunion I have been waiting for? What the hell happened to the VH I knew and loved?

  • Roth on his worst night is still better than anybody else............

  • yikes, dlr's voice is shot--sounds like crap

  • Sammy? Mikey? Is that you?

  • are you stalking me? loser! look at how dopey dlr looks on stage--just listen to the first words his sings, holy crap he sounds like shit! sorry, truth hurts

  • Stalking you? You're on my page fuckhead.

  • Still love em' though!

  • Ouch! Where's the MOJO Dave? I think it's too late! Maybe a wig and an 8 ball! Hah!

  • This is the most subdued Ive ever seen DLR. He and EVH noticibly avoid each other here. Still would have like to have gone seen them live though if not just to say I saw DLR and EVH actually do a show together.
