  • I wanna see you do FOOD! Well, you don't have to do the food on camera. But sing about it. I get it in my head every once in a while, after indulging in Wendy's or something spicy and sweet and always in the mood. Like women prior to the 19th Amendment.

  • my name is Deirdre ;)

  • I like my metric system, but this song is hilarious.

  • very funny & original. absolutely beautiful. i looked up metric system on youtube trying to remember it because i am doing conversions and proportins for pharmacy tech class. this song makes me want to like metric, thanks

  • The comments on this video post are disturbingly somber, given the context. The Four Bitchin Babes are all about comedic music set against the backdrop of popular culture. This is the coolest thing since "Wierd Al" Yankovic.

  • Funny stuff. Even if the 1975 attempt failed I still hope the US will adopt the metric system one day. Gramm, liter, meter, it's not that difficult. :D

Btw, I was not aware of my neighbors being the inventors of the metric system. You never finish learning. Should be the right intention for this topic. :D

  • Avynian have you ever been to America. It might surprise you how many places in America the metric system is used. I am not going to worry about America using metric but in Canada there are industries that still use imperial. The conversion factor does not come up in the industries that still use imperial.

  • Please - I want the lyrics!

  • Help! The French are coming! Metric is being forced down our throats, we'll be buying 4-liter milk jugs and wearing Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses in 32-degree weather!

  • I LOVED IT!!

  • I remember the Metric Conversion Act of 1975 vividly, even though I was only 8 years old then. The first sign was gasoline sold by the liter. It caused great confusion.

  • you wont use a syatem designed by the french but will you use one used by 94% of the world? good song, great satire, now you should take it seriously and adopt metric because it is for YOUR own good and the good of your childrens future.

  • Look up the MEANING of the word satire, genius.

  • who cares I only hope nasa dont kill another crew of the space shuttle because of not using the metric system

  • Nasa did not kill the crew of the space Shuttle. The Space Shuttle blew up because of a faulty O Ring. The problem with the O Ring was it could not handle the cold temperate. Don't be silly nobody died because I like a pint of beer.

  • no they have not done it yet but if you look at the mars probe that crashed because the nasa scientists got thier measurements mixed up its an accident waiting to happen

  • Nasa could get there measurements mixed up with all metric too. What if an engineer mistook decanewtons for newtons. I preffer to work with feet inches because they are bigger. But I am familiar enough with metric that I can use it if I decide to go into engineering. I think your putting to much worry into things.

  • The units must always be specified. Besides, "deca-" is rarely used. "Kilo-" and "milli-" are much more frequently used. For scientific and engineering work, SI is to be used, which is limited to powers of a thousand.

  • Your logic is flawed. If the unit is always specified then engineers should not mistake imperial for metric.

  • Flint is correct. Her song refers to the incorrect unit data mix-up put in the computer regulating the Mars Climate Orbiter probe that was to go into orbit Sept. 30, 1999. $125 Million was lost and scientific progress was impeded because the foolish use of dual measurement systems in U.S. culture. The back-up measures to catch the error failed. The cost of this measurement system? The devastating loss of U.S. students who become permanently confused and give up on science and math.

  • Your Mars Orbiter comment is a BLANKET STATEMENT. No flints song does not mention the Orbiter her song is a satire look at all these people that blow the metric system out of proportion. There are people on both sides of the debate that blow things out of proportion. As per student giving up because they are confused with metric don't teach it.

  • TOO FUNNY!!! I remember when I was in elementary school in the early 80's they were still talking about converting, I was in a panic too. I stunk at math!

  • this is awesome

  • How super!

    How genial!

Of course it's easy to say if you're ...

    ...dum-de-dum ... German.

    Incredible.

And what an erotic name is DEIRDRE FLINT anyway? Huh?

  • Hell yeah! we dont need that french garbage! a woman after my heart yall. makes my night.

  • Lyrics here:

  • Thank you ;)

  • Yay for Deirdre! Now how about a new CD? Please?

  • Beautiful satire. Let's finish metrication now!

  • End U.S. Customary torture now! Metric is easy and helps kids learn number sense quickly. Great satire, Deirdre. Tom Lehrer would be proud of you!

  • Metric is better. She made a point at the end.

  • I didn't understand all the words. Where could I find the written lyrics ?

  • Great stuff! Is this a new one? I'm pretty sure I haven't heard it before.
