cool the new 2010 tarus sho will have the ecoboost twin tubrocharged 3.5 v6 with 365hp and 350torque too bad it costs $37000 there will even be a track pack aviable radar cruse controal and i heard ford is working on a auto park feature like lexus
Has anyone here seen or heard about the 2010 Ford Taurus? It's styled after the very popular Ford Mondeo of Europe and is stunningly beautiful. Go to google and type in 2010 Ford Taurus for photos. It is also highly rumoured that it will be available with the eco-tech direct fuel injected and turbocharged engine. Ford may not bring back the Taurus SHO but this car if produced as planned and with the high performance engine will make a lot of people happy and the competition miserable!
if ford wants to bring back svt..it has to be able to keep up with todays standards for a high performing car under 20000 or under 25000. it needs to go 0-60 in 6 or less seconds and it needs to handle very well.. this would steal sales away from the mustang. but the upside to this would be market share...ie if ford brought the european turbo awd focus over to the us and sell it for 25000 it would sell like hotcakes, stealing sales from the likes of subaru and mitsubishi etc...
I agree with the other things you mentioned...but, all of that for under $25,000??? I seriously doubt that! You can't even get a top of the line T. Camry for under that much. For a SVT trimmed F. Taurus with, all the goodies...I'm thinking, in the field of between $32k-$35k!
I meant SVT as a whole....Let's say the svt focus that came out a few years ago, that was about 24k..maybe more..if you put that up against today's standards it would be the laughing stock. Look at the current Cobalt SS (turbo one not the S/C one) and the 2009 WRX..the 09 WRX just did 0-60 in 4.7seconds at Car & Driver!!!!!!!, and it handles pretty well, and the cost? 24k, SVT needs to bring the euro focus here and sell it for that price..
I understand your point...but, you gotta also review what you just typed! The SVT Focus you're talking about came out a FEW yrs. ago...so, of course, technology and, performance is kinda outdated(unless, HEAVILY modified)! I'm prettysure if, Ford produced an up to date SVT Focus that came out(let's say, last month), it'll definitely be a competitor in todays small sportscar segment(if not, one of the best). Not to worry though! The new SVT Focus will have Ford's Direct injected TC. engine!
I also heard, the new Ford Fusion is going to recieve a direct injected TC.(slightly detuned)V6 engine! You know, those two cars are going to be "BADDAZZ"! The Suburu WRX is a very fast car...but, it always fell short with battles against the Ford Mustang Cobra and, the Chevy CamaroSS/PontiacGTO.
I don't think Ford would want to steal sales away from it's own company, ie, the Mustang. But to steal sales away from the Japanese imports is the whole idea. The Taurus was the best selling car from 92-96, SHO's & V8's. Gas is 2 bucks again. I much prefer the ride of a Taurus over a Camry or an Accord anyways. For pure dependability and ride comfort, no, not my Jaguar (Which I Love.)or my BMW ( Which I don't like too much anymore), my 2003 Taurus, ass doen't hurt
ford needs to do something. Their trucks and mustangs are the only things keeping them a float aside from their sister companies Mazda and Volvo just to name a couple.
Bring back the SVT branch for cryin out loud. The SVT Focus was actually a descent car to drive and the SVT Contour wasn't bad either. Not to mention a little car called Mustang Cobra. come on now
Dude there is a svt mustang there are many versions the shlbygt500kr, gt500, and the gth. Ford is also going to come out with f150 svt model for the 2009 or 2010 model year
Ford Hasn't made a vehicle with the SVT badge in a few years. Beleie me, I have done my research on the subject. Not to mention, I work at a Ford dealership. Sure they are planning on making performance models of all the vehicles. 2010 the twin turbo v6 mustang hits. The engine that will be used in that will make it's debut in the Fusion next year. 3.5L twin turbo.
are u fucking drunk i own a shelbygt500(which came out last year) and my dad owns a ford dealership. What kind of fucking ford dealership do u work in???????...lol
ok then I would like ou to show me anywhere on that car that says SVT. Last time I checked Ford did shut down the SVT line, not all performance divisions.
ok, I am done argueing. The GT500 was made by Shelby, as in Carol Shelby. SVT was a branch of Ford that was shut down. The last SVT vehicle was the Mustang Cobra or the Focus SVT. don't believe me. check out the website fordperformancegroup . com
The stance of the '09 is all wrong. Tall? Flat panel sides? No no no. Not sporty nor sexy in the least. 15 years ago, the automotive industry seemed to grasp what made a sporty looking car, whether 2 or 4 door...low, wide, and sleek. Tall and boxy is just retarded for a sporty image car.
FORGET THE TT 3.5L its not a yamaha and an SHO just isnt an SHO without a Yamaha! My vote goes to the 4.4L Yamaha V8 that ford is already useing in the Volvo XC90! Just tune it a a little and let Yamaha truely show the world what they can do with the SHO instead of putting HP limits on the motor like they did for the last SHO V8s! Im telling you all if you let yamaha run with the 4.4 and see what they can do you can be burning SRT8's all day long
