I'd love my school to put this on, but it would be very hard because of the lack of African Americans in Australia. My mother did this show years ago with a theatre troupe and they had to wear loads of black make-up. Dunno if that's PC these days, but if youthink about it, it's kind of necessary.
I did showboat in my school last year we had to use black paint on some people and we used the n word [we didnt edit out the anti racism subplot] but unfortunatally we had to abridge it cutting some great songs also we confused people with the story a bit but we did well
