Blame Koji Igarashi, the series producer. He claimed Sonia's part in the timeline conflicted with the events of HIS games. So far, Legends is the only game not put back into the timeline.

Yeah, the music sounds pretty bad for a Castlevania game, but I was always looking forward to a continuation to the story from "Legends". Despite the graphics, that Castlevania was epic, explaining how Alucard and Sonia were lovers and how, basically Alucard was the one who gave the Belmont men they're strength, through having a son with Sonia, which turned out to be Trevor Belmont!
For all the Castlevania fans out there,like myself,there *is* still an option left for us,there is a Bleemed! version of Castlevania(I think "Smith" did this version up)...So we can still at least enjoy somethin'!And that really helps when you have two kids and an old PII w/burner.... :)
yeah,thats the funny thing about it,it actually plays smoothly,just like it was in the ps1.(with the exception of the cut scenes that is)...in the opening scene,the sound is good,but then all of the sudden theres a kind of "high" pitched chirp sound 10 seconds or so..But its still fun to play,and if you dont mind the chirp sound or if you can figure out a way to disable it(I did this with Thunder Force 5 bleemed-accidently same sound,just paused then re-sumed and no chirp...)but yes playable! :)
Well.Of course it was seperate but it was the same size as the dial up adapter,the only dreamcast that came with the ethernet adapter were the R7 dreamcast only in japan.Otherwise its nothing special or unknown,maybe you didnt know because they had a small production run.Go check ebay it goes for like 200 bucks and up.
Cheap way: Dreamcast comes with a modem attached. Get another modem for your PC and have it emulate a dial-in endpoint and router for Dreamcast.
Fancy way: get a Dreamcast Broadband Adapter (HIT-0400/0401), a rare and expensive item. Get a cheap WLAN AP and reconfigure it into Client Mode, attach it with a short Ethernet cable. Alternatively, just pull a cable from your existing WLAN router's Ethernet port. If the Ethernet port is taken, use a hub/switch.

Nope, this is prerendered video, not realtime graphics. Although yeah, Dreamcast is almost Playstation 2 class, many times the power of N64.
There wasn't any confusion or extra cables, it worked just like any CD console. The controllers had 2 memory card slots, like N64 or Xbox, and the memory card had a screen, whjch would be seen through an opening in the controller, otherwise nothing confusing or special at all.
A rumble pack or a microphone could be used in the 2nd memory card slot.
Go back inform yourself, you don't do your name justice. Look at Shenmue (1/2) for Dreamcast and Dead or Alive 2 (Dreamcast/PS2). It's a good estimate that DC is more than half the power of PS2, while all prior consoles are a little tiny fraction of that. E.g. vertex throughput: PS1/N64: 100 000 per second, perhaps double for N64. DC: 4 mio real/7 mio theoretical. PS2: 6 mio real/12 mio theoretical. Memory for graphics and data: 3MB PS1, 4MB+ N64, 22MB Dreamcast, 32MB PS2. PM me if any doubts.

He didnt cancel the game, it died becuase of disagreements between Konami US and japan, and the death of the Dreamcast.
iGA retconned her because it was a crappy origin story, simple as that.
And because it basically made Trevor Belmont Dracula's grandson, and linked the Dracula's and the tepes.

Blame Koji Igarashi, the series producer. He claimed Sonia's part in the timeline conflicted with the events of HIS games. So far, Legends is the only game not put back into the timeline.

Yeah, the music sounds pretty bad for a Castlevania game, but I was always looking forward to a continuation to the story from "Legends". Despite the graphics, that Castlevania was epic, explaining how Alucard and Sonia were lovers and how, basically Alucard was the one who gave the Belmont men they're strength, through having a son with Sonia, which turned out to be Trevor Belmont!
Damn them for not completing this game!

For all the Castlevania fans out there,like myself,there *is* still an option left for us,there is a Bleemed! version of Castlevania(I think "Smith" did this version up)...So we can still at least enjoy somethin'!And that really helps when you have two kids and an old PII w/burner.... :)

yeah,thats the funny thing about it,it actually plays smoothly,just like it was in the ps1.(with the exception of the cut scenes that is)...in the opening scene,the sound is good,but then all of the sudden theres a kind of "high" pitched chirp sound 10 seconds or so..But its still fun to play,and if you dont mind the chirp sound or if you can figure out a way to disable it(I did this with Thunder Force 5 bleemed-accidently same sound,just paused then re-sumed and no chirp...)but yes playable! :)

It wouldn't, the Dreamcast's internet was a 56K modem, and it would need a wireless adapter even if it supported broadband.

Well.Of course it was seperate but it was the same size as the dial up adapter,the only dreamcast that came with the ethernet adapter were the R7 dreamcast only in japan.Otherwise its nothing special or unknown,maybe you didnt know because they had a small production run.Go check ebay it goes for like 200 bucks and up.

Cheap way: Dreamcast comes with a modem attached. Get another modem for your PC and have it emulate a dial-in endpoint and router for Dreamcast.
Fancy way: get a Dreamcast Broadband Adapter (HIT-0400/0401), a rare and expensive item. Get a cheap WLAN AP and reconfigure it into Client Mode, attach it with a short Ethernet cable. Alternatively, just pull a cable from your existing WLAN router's Ethernet port. If the Ethernet port is taken, use a hub/switch.

Nope, this is prerendered video, not realtime graphics. Although yeah, Dreamcast is almost Playstation 2 class, many times the power of N64.
There wasn't any confusion or extra cables, it worked just like any CD console. The controllers had 2 memory card slots, like N64 or Xbox, and the memory card had a screen, whjch would be seen through an opening in the controller, otherwise nothing confusing or special at all.
A rumble pack or a microphone could be used in the 2nd memory card slot.

Go back inform yourself, you don't do your name justice. Look at Shenmue (1/2) for Dreamcast and Dead or Alive 2 (Dreamcast/PS2). It's a good estimate that DC is more than half the power of PS2, while all prior consoles are a little tiny fraction of that. E.g. vertex throughput: PS1/N64: 100 000 per second, perhaps double for N64. DC: 4 mio real/7 mio theoretical. PS2: 6 mio real/12 mio theoretical. Memory for graphics and data: 3MB PS1, 4MB+ N64, 22MB Dreamcast, 32MB PS2. PM me if any doubts.

There was potential definitely, but nothing was achieved in the efforts that were put forth. Even if this game was finished it would have been lumped in with all the negativity that the other 3D Castlevania games received.
