@bigredphenom Worked with me and many other atheists who aren't scared of being proven wrong. It's pretty much irrelevant how you approach a hopelessly convinced believer and if they're too insecure, scared and ignorant to look past what method was used to disprove their beliefs, that's their problem. There is no style of atheism. It's just a counter position for a certain claim.

This man still needs washing and cleansing of his MIND and SOUL and if he sins he just has to repent ask forgiveness.
I know God my Creator, I have a relationship with Him, He speaks to me and I hear Him, God has adopted me as his child and I now have a loving and personal relationship with Him. I think the church is horrible for turning their back on a guy when they routinely preach forgiveness and understanding. Clearly they don't believe in the ideals that the bible teaches about forgiving people for their sins.

I do kinda feel bad for it, 'cause he was brainwashed into it in the first place. But only a little. I feel bad for the young child and early adolescent who was made to feel guilty, dirty, and evil. I don't feel so bad for the adult who went on to preach those very same things.

I think the church is horrible for turning their back on a guy when they routinely preach forgiveness and understanding. Clearly they don't believe in the ideals that the bible teaches about forgiving people for their sins.
I am an atheist but I do believe in forgiving people for things they have done wrong.

@ohgrx For me, it depends on the wrong and if the person is truly sorry. The church has every right to be upset and doubt his sincerity after he deceived them. I think it's a good thing when creationist question their religious leaders, as opposed to the child molesting popes that run rampant molesting little kids left and right.

"people" is a general term, and was not specific to ted. ted haggard is far more than just a hypocritcal bible thumper. he is mentally disturbed and his views and hate speech are deplorable. IF he were to follow the advice of ZJ in this vid, he might actually be worthy of "forgiveness". IF he truly were concerned with those he hurt in the process of his hypocrisy he could & would be most definitely able to rectify the situation. but he shows no true remorse.

then my question to you is, where do you draw the line? to me there are certain acts, certain circumstances, and certain people that do not deserve "forgiveness". to me there is a certain level of accountability that offenders must meet in order to be worthy of forgiveness. people in the public eye, ESPECIALLY people who make a living off of others, religious 'leaders', and those like ted whose lives/careers are based on judging others, but care only about themselves, deserve NOTHING.
