@scottyobigg I'm American and I agree. Our version of a rugby team would look more like a bunch of midwest wrestlers from Oklahoma and Iowa. Hard hitters with califlower ear and working class dad's with 40 years in farming. American football doesn't come close. But that doesn't mean that we couldn't field a decent team with our pool of athletes. American Football just makes way more money here is all.

@scottyobigg no dude, NFL players wear protection because if they hit hard enough that they would KILL someone without protection. players like ndamukong suh and clay matthews hit too hard. suh can run a 40 yard dash in just under 5 seconds and bench presses 225 lbs 32 times! they are different sports. not saying that rugby isnt a great sport, but the fact of the matter is there would be no people to play in the NFL without protection.

I remember cuts and contusions in the locker room after rugby games, but i also remember cuts and contusions in the locker room after football games and having to take an ice bath after some games due to the excruciating pain. Football isn't tough yet after every game our players would have bruises even in the places where theres lots of padding.
