  • Thank god for youtube to mp3. The added drums make this song better than the original! Keep up the good work :)

  • @JackScrot Wow thanks a lot. I think of myself as a hack most of the time. If you downloaded this as an mp3 then I wish I played more tastefully :-)

  • cool :D

  • Just so you know, your an amazing drummer. And i love your music so much!

  • @acpercussionist Sorry I didn't respond for so long. Thanks a lot for that comment.

  • @egyokeo You're welcome! And it's ok. I just think your really cool! The only other nerd drummer that i know of!

  • genial!

  • yey i love that you did a regi song

  • i wish i could play like you.

  • Way better drum than the original

  • cool! nice one

  • I saw this video, I liked the song and searched for original Regina Spektor (never heard of her before). But i like your version much much more. When i want to hear this song, i play yours than the original. Is it completely your invention, or do you just remake the original drums a little? (i cannot hear it on my own, because i'm not good on hearing the drums -i just can say if i like it or not)

  • wow i really liked it ! good job

  • Great cover.

    Congratulations.

  • That is so cool! I've watched this video about 15 times since I've found it last week. Really great job, love the smooth hi-hat work.

  • Well done

  • this is some good shit! good job

  • Want to come over to our house while I play this on piano?? ;)

  • this is my favorite video you've done you make it look like it would be alot of fun to play.

  • My sister loves regina spektor. she was a big fan before she was famous

  • @JeffOnCp

    Wanna cookie?

  • mhm

  • nice diddles =]

  • I've been watching to some of your videos, I really like your drumming and your concepts, I think you have lots of musicality, I've been learning a lot from you.

Just a little question ¿are those Vater Phat Ride sticks?

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So do you edit out the actually drums, and play your own version? Or just play along with the drums actually in the song?

  • I play over the top of the original song. I mix my drums way up and the song down a bit.

  • how did you change the noises of the drumset so quickly?

  • the rims have hi hat on them, no real-time changes necessary!

  • @egyokeo OMG i never would'a thought of that thnx man i think i'll try it. :D

  • completely awesome.

  • mp3 please haha

  • This is very cool! :) Correct me if i'm wrong....are you getting different cymbal sounds from hitting the rims of the "toms".....sorry but i'm not much of an expert on electric drums.

  • That's what he's doing. He's got a fairly nice kit, but it's not a huge one, so he compensates for the lack of cymbals by programing the rims of the toms to serve as cymbals.

  • this is great!

could you do some iron maiden covers?

    2 minutes to midnight!

  • freaking awesome playing.

    awesome.

  • Wow you are goooooood :d

Creat a band of jazz. i'll buy your album.

  • wow... crazy...

  • you are such a fucking badass. this song is really interesting and your playing is spectacular

  • wow cool.. would have loved to know your setup on this one.

  • close to the edge-yes

  • this is different, very very different sounding but good nonetheless. a little variety is nice, otherwise the system becomes redundant ;)

  • yah, i like to mix it up a bit. thanks for the comment freebones, i was wondering what you were going to think! But I also thought... man, I play the same sort of thing all the time. Like just noodling over songs. Ah well.... maybe I'm just not feeling inspired right now. My next vid might be another Vinnie C transcription.

  • That was amazing!

  • I should be going to bed, but I love these vids so much I'm just not going to :D

  • Simply breathtaking. Loved it from beginning to end.

  • amazing.

  • awesome drum cover you got me hooked on this song

  • Amazing... Why arent you playing professionally anymore?

  • sick intro :O

  • i just like the intro in this song

  • Regina spektor for the win

  • i have every thing u have but just not the 800 dollar hihat

  • he has the td 20

  • Very nice!

  • Woah.. Amazing, just amazing. Keep it up, Egyokeo!

  • I liked the other angle better, when you could see the whole set.

  • This is amazing! :D I love it!

  • what type of drum set is this?

  • its a roland td 20

  • its a roland td-20 (dont think i spelt the company right)

  • loved it

  • 1:28 and on is win

  • Cool, very cool.

  • Great cover man, eventho im into metal this is good. I love how u use ur ghostnotes

  • "play along to a song I like videos" are the shit.

  • spectacular.

  • you should do a rush cover

  • dude, you are a monster. would you say you prefer your rolands over an acoustic?

  • Egyokeo, if you could make a Cover to any mastodon song. I would be eternally grateful.

  • man i know you might not enjoy this type of music but i think you should try a drum cover for some grindcore :D like something by gorerotted or maybe some napalm death. might not be some peoples favorite type of music but its diversity with a different sound :D

  • He already tried a metal cover. Even he said it didn't go so well lol.

  • im not saying a metal one lol grindcore is much different and much more drum heavy lol

  • Grindcore is a subgenre of metal.

What makes something metal is an overall heaviness. Every metal band relies on a heavy drum sound.

I don't know any metal band that has a soft drum sound.

  • at times tool does. But most of the time your right air.

  • Isn't grindcore technically a subgenre of punk? Hate to split hairs, just I've seen arguements over its actual placement.

  • You are incorrect.

  • I've just seen arguments and i was wondering. Even some Grindcore artists seem to be unclear on that, its bizzare.

  • The DVD History of Metal has a "family tree-like" categorization of all of the different genres of metal. Grindcore is in there.

  • Thats as good a reason as most, but still one source can't be universally trusted.

  • True. It was very well done though and I agree with their reasoning for putting it there. However I do forget the reasoning lol. Check it out, you might find it interesting.

  • I shall. There are reasons for its placing in punk as well, though all i can pull out is probably the attitude of Grindcore. Grindcore is a lot less technical than death metal and tends to be a lot more based on the heaviness (hence why some people argue Grindcore is "Brutal Death Metal"

  • Death can be heavy and technical : Decapitated

  • Sorry, i must of worded what i said wrong.

I meant death seems to be more technical than Grindcore.

  • Ohh. okay yes. death is more technical. but not as technical as jazz

  • Nothing is as technical as Jazz.

  • I agree with that. that's why technical death drum like jazz ;)

  • Jazz with blast beats... Sounds like fun.

  • Haha. it's metal playing with some jazz in it. but almost anything is in 4/4 ;)

  • Not always, some stupidly technical death metal *shakes head*

  • @RedVstheBlue watch some death core

  • @FearAndRevere

    I prefer Technical Death.

And a lot of that stuff takes things from Jazz. Both jazz and death just grows and is intertwined really.

  • Love it! Awesome song and cover!

  • Rofl, I love that one line "Hooked into machine" repeated over and over.

  • Very good solid and tight drumming. Your 32nd do not sound at all like triplets or 32-triplets, but I think that is more to the fact that you play in the pocket then that I have a good ear.

  • is this your own drum part to this song or a cover of the actual drum part?

  • it's mostly just my own improv over the song. I don't think I played much of anything the same as the actual drummer on this song except the 1/4 note bass drum.

  • thats awesome what great and unique style you have, very enjoyable to see this...keep going

  • annd also i dont usually campare drummers...but lately i went to see Cirque Du Solieil and amazing musicians all of them but the style you played with here reminded so much of the drummers exquiste technique and flow with everything

  • Krackosaur, thanks! which cirque du soleil? i like the drummer in Alegria... which is also my fav cirque du soleil show.

  • well the latest addition Cortea (i beleive thts hoow you spell it)...he was a young drummer but you can see very well devloped and he played the drums in such a musical way it was amazing

  • Musically I loved Alegria but out of all of Cirque's shows I preferred Mystere. Out of the touring shows I think I've only seen Alegria live so far though.

  • i have to say im usually not a fan of this kind of music at all, but this was very entertaining

    good job!

  • That part you talk about with the 32nds, where does it come in? I have a really bad ear when it comes to specific things like that.

  • first section of the 32nd note thing is at 1:17

  • great job

  • man i loved the beginning

  • Very awesome once again, Egyokeo.

Gotta say I prefer the old camera angle though.

  • This is great!

  • Very emotional. Love it.

  • You're an ANIMAL!!!

  • Wow that was really fun to watch.

    I love Regina Spektor.

  • Nice

  • Eargasm, amazing job.

  • amazing cover

  • I love it.
