  • @paddotk its mess tin. some kind of metal retangular bown that can be used to put food in to eat from.

  • @Cptjonmiller Ok je bent Nederlands blijkbaar, zo praten is makkelijker :p. Wat is 'bown' dan??

  • @paddotk i dont understand....

  • @Cptjonmiller Okay :p I though you were Dutch because your profile page says so

  • @paddotk oh sorry, i meant bowl

  • any of you guys got an idea how all the tins and canteens got flattened? its kind of odd for a bunch of soldiers to eat their lunch then stomp on their lunchboxes and bury them? mysterious!

  • any of you guys have a clue why all the tins and canteens are flattened? seems to me if a company of german soldiers had lunch and buried their tins for some odd reason that they would still be mostly intact! maybe they were suprised by an armored cavalry unit from uncle sam who ran over their lunchboxes? lol!~

  • Cool video guys, nice finds!

  • good music ;)

  • I have some old nazi medals and badges and a pocketwatch and there in decent condition.

  • zondermuziek is het leuker:P

  • I bet the soldiers who'd put this stuff there would be bemused by the way we're so interested in their rubbish!

Talk to a WWII veteran about the details of their equipment and they often think you're mad. To me, it's fascinating. Sometimes finding "rubbish" like this beats getting perfect, unissued kit. There's a story behind this and you're on it's trail.

  • Nice choice of tunes. Up the Irons!

  • id like to go search for old war stuff, but aint that dangerous if there is a grenade or some boobietrap thingys ?? :D .. Bet there is some junk in the swamps here in Finland.

    Ps. UP THE IRONS

  • als ik vond holf het materiaal u kerels vindt zou ik zo happ zijn. goede baan.

  • Hey, thanks man. I think you used a translation program cause your Dutch is quite crappy ;-) greetings from Holland

  • ya i did. lol i found out after i did it that i said something different.

  • No I meant its nice you took the time and made the effort to translate it to Dutch, the content is okay but the grammar is a bit funny.

  • lol! i want 2 speak dutch!

  • @glennetnixz You're complaining about the quality of the Dutch accent ad grammar here? I specifically requested "English" as the language, and I still keep getting foreign-language sites (a lot of them amateur videos with really bad pop music)

  • its no dangerous for mines or other ammo ..??

  • sometimes it is... even after 60 years they blow up

  • Here in Italy (CAssino) one died with a bomb years ago. And still now summer fires on the montains makes a lot of bombs blow out!!

  • great finds and great music

  • Probably there some sort of POW or transition camp nearby and the Allies dumped all the equipment they gathered in big holes in the ground, there was one discovered somewhere in Holland as well some time ago and it contained hundreds of helmets.

    mooie vondsten hoor :D

    succes verder!

  • fishty lok a desrt gupme

  • Nice finds, greetings from Latvia...

  • how did you come across them? metal detector?

  • Yes, were always surging with a metal detector, only some times you can see a relic lying on top of the ground. Greetings from Holland.

  • That looks like a dump from when the Germans might have been retreating from the Allies.

  • good example of 'african' kit seeing western theatre use...

  • did you notice that on some of this objiect there are italian words written on??? it' very strange thing. where did you find it???

  • Yes we noticed, it is also an Italian mess tin, so that make cense ;-) It says Fame, Mamma mia che fame, Fame internationale, and on the other site DISTRETTO REGGIO CALABRIA.
