sweet vid, have already seen these guy's around Evan's. Have you noticed that the sound form the engines of the modern fighter sounds more like a rocket engine sendind the space shuttle up ? it just has that reall crackle now instead of the traditional jet roar ??

Very unusual, I wonder why they didnt stop at Hobsonville Airbase?

I heard that is the first 5 of 24 units so hopefully we will see more of this stuff soon, maybe with some notice and arrival/departure times?

It was a once off thing, for the first lot of arrivals into aust, but ya never know maybe an exercise might happen there one day

No - not normal activity - this bunch were just on a stopover on their way to aussie from the USA. Although their are suppose to be RAAF F/A-18A's from 3 sqn RAAF arriving in NZ - next wk at Ohakea for excercises with the RNZAF C-130s.
