  • What tool are you using to change the line weight/thickness?

  • @ManiactheLunatic

I simply change them to shapes (expand) and edit them as shape (in CS5 ther is a new tool called "line weight variation tool" that allows you to do this without expanding to shapes)

  • what is it called when you make your screen clear, and all the lines are small (looks like one size stroke and then you fix it a little bit then it goes back to regular size strokes)

  • @trunks7o2

It is "outline" view. Ctrl+Y, or cmd+Y on Mac

  • nice work...,but too fast..

  • what program are you using to record this video.

  • how do you get the brush like stroke???

  • @fremy123

You mean width variation? I simply changed strokes into shapes via extend and edited them as shapes.

  • @viollus do you use like tablet or just mouse? as you draw as if youre using a real life pen with those strokes....

  • @fremy123

It was done on Wacom tablet.

  • This cool! I have 2 Q's. How did u switch bk n forth when kinda hid the drawing to tweak the paths (add 2 the oblong shapes 2 make the hand. Question 2, How did u set up ur tablet to draw freehand lines style?

  • did you a tablet?

  • @Ferrari465

I did. I use tablet and mouse. Point is, use whotever tool you need as long as you feel comfortable with it.

  • How many hours are spent creating this?

  • @Hollywood4Fun

About 10 to 12h total. I didn't made it all at one. Every video is one session about 3h long

  • oh !!!! awesome .... a cow with special weapon !

  • hey viollus...

    I have another question...

In this vid as also in the next part I see that all your draw is basically made of 2 or more lines (when you do ctrl+y i can see it) but I saw that when for example you draw the hands you just used your brush then pen and I think I've missed the step where you kinda, maybe, "duplicate" the lines and finally have more lines...I don't know if I explained myself well...

Is there a command for doing that thing?

    cheers and thanks

  • @JackSw1ss PS: the thing you use is expand?so that lines becomes like "filled" and then you have 2 lines for an old 1 line?

  • @JackSw1ss PS: the thing you use is expand?so that lines becomes like "filled" and then you have 2 lines for an old 1 line? or you make outline stroke command when you select everything?

  • @JackSw1ss

Hello again :) I am converting lines into shapes using "expand". First, I draw lines with paintbrush tool, then, when I'm happy with my drawing, I expand the lines and adjust thickness.

  • @viollus hi, i have a wacom tablet, and adobe illustrator cs5, i want to sketck but my pencil tool it pretty mashed up, its kinda like the pen tool, it always joins up all the lines i make, how can i change this?

  • @TheGadgetReviewer10 i have a wacom tablet which also does this (i draw a line and then if i draw the next line to close, it joins them)....not sure how to fix this either...

  • Dude, this is awesome. where did u learned to work with Illustrator? I'm working with PS and now Wanna learn work with vectors, but illustrator looks very difficult to me.

  • @tauttvisz

Hi there! Well, my background is traditional drawing and PS, but i never took any art class or anything like this. All I know, I learned by myself. Same was with Illustrator, I needed to know it for my work, I knew basics idea of vector drawing (at that time i hated vectors, I thought all good digital art comes from bitmap based software like PS - how wrong I was) I started with tracing all kinds of scanned logos and simple drawings. Just don't be scared, it's not that hard at all.

  • @viollus I was learning illustrator yesterday all day long, now it doesn't look so complicated :) Same with me. I need to learn work with vectors because I'm working with graphic design, web design etc.. Again, nice job, keep going :)
